Recently a rash of home break-ins have been occurring in Fayetteville. Friday, June 1, Michael A. Pistner, of Whitechapel Road, in the Rockfish area of Fayetteville had his home broken into around 4:45p.m.
According to Hoke County Sheriff, Hubert Peterkin, the soldier was in his residence when the back door of his house was kicked in. Pistner then fired a handgun at the three intruders, wounding Gregory Paul Lowrie, 21.
Lowrie was taken to Cape Fear Valley Medical Center where he remained in critical condition and has yet to be charged, Peterkin said.
Samuel Arthur Bernard Sweeney, 19, of Cambridge Arms apartments in Fayetteville, is charged with breaking and entering and conspiracy to commit larceny with bail set at $500,000, according Peterkin.
Sweeney was a graduate of Jack Britt High School in Fayetteville.
It is not known if the home had a home security system.
One perp in the hospital, 2 others arrested...
I would say it has an adequate security system
“It is not known if he has a home security system”.
LMAO...Sounds as if he does!!!
8^D
All a security system does is make noise. Its useful to wake you up and shorten the time criminals will spend in your home.
What companies like ADT won’t tell you is that it takes several minutes for them to acknowledge the alarm and even longer for the police to respond assuming they have nothing more important to do. Criminals know this.
What a moronic statement.
I assume that any criminal who would kick down your back door and come into your home while you are inside, is ready to kill you, rape your wife and, steal your property.
That man should be ready to die when he enters and should get his wish.
The best security system in this instance, is a firearm in the hands of someone who knows how to use it
Whitechapel Rd and Hoke County.
That’s Raeford - not Fayetteville.

Yes, it is best to be armed and call the police yourself. However, I don’t see a better solution for protecting an empty home or one occupied by kids too young to shoot someone.
Also, you might not have a chance to get on the phone if you are fighting for your life.
I don’t think having a system is bad in addition to being armed.
Here is one of the perps - a white African-American.

They only name two of the perps. One must be a juvie. It’s too bad he didn’t pink the juvie, too. Now he will skate away unpunished.
Oh no. Not Sweeney! He was getting his GED, aspiring rapper, going to college, good to his kids, sang in church, it was a mistake, got in with the wrong crowd, wrong place at the wrong time.
When seconds count the police are just minutes away!
If I am kicking in doors, the two places I wouldn’t do it are Fayetnam and Jacksonville NC
LOL.
I agree with most of your post. An alarm will wake you up or alert you that someone has entered.
More importantly the existence of an alarm tends to deter most criminals.
Kelly Twedell, Ft Bragg Patch(head shaking) Kelly, Kelly, come on.
It is not known if the home had a home security system.
You're an Army Wife and hubby's stationed at Ft Bragg. Where as you know, there just happens to be about a gazillion soldiers who are trained to kill with one hand. Like the 82nd Airborne - many already Ranger qualified - and Special Forces [Unless things have really changed at the JFK Special Warfare Center??? (/s)], to name two of the dozens of units that call Ft Bragg home.
So would you like to rethink that last line about 'a Security System'? (we all make an oops now and then)
Wish he could have cooked all three of the turds.
And, 'he was really turning his life around'

I’ll take a good dog over an alarm system any day of the week. A good dog will wake you up even before your home is breached. And they’re a great deterrent too!
