The past two days are the first time that Romney has reached 50% against Obama since Rasmussen started polling the general election. IMHO, it’s not because of what Romney’s doing. Instead, Obama has turned more voters against him in the past few days. We all know what’s been in the news lately with regard to Obama & Biden, and the public does not approve. Also, voters are probably more focused on the economy than Obama and the MSM would like for them to be.

Yep, 0pansy looks like the NCAA bb team with the last second desperation shot from half court to win or lose.

This time, 0pansy and his bb team will lose.

“Obama has turned more voters against him in the past few days.”

Exactly! Like I posted a couple days ago, Mittens is just going to stand back and let this fool bury himself further and further.

The gay crap (pun semi intended) is the final nail in the coffin; people are sick of Obama, period. Like I also posted a couple days ago, luckily the Rats are PC to the point of suicide because if they were serious about winning, Obama would have got the tap on the shoulder months ago.

By not doing that, we will be rid of both Obama and Hillary!, because a badly aging woman will not be elected POTUS. I look at this scenario as a two-fer!!!

It makes me wonder what the pro-Obama forces do have against Romney, as we move closer to the November general election. As one example, does the pro-Obama forces plan to find a way to, possibly, cancel the November election?

Currently, 44% of voters say they at least somewhat approve of the president's job performance.

Thanks to 50 years of Marx-friendly brainwashing in the Public School system, these kids don't know their their right hand from their left. 44%.

Pray for America.

I heard that Mitt THOUGHT ABOUT having more than one wife, before he got married, and Mitt wore magic underwear to his wedding!

Just imagine how far Obama would be dropping in the polls if the Republicans had a nominee that anyone wants to vote for.

If Romney manages to pull out a win, it will be entirely due to the the Anyone But Obama vote.

The American people (the majority of them) long for normalcy and a return to traditional values and leadership. They are getting the exact oppoistie from the Kenyan Marxist.
_________________________________________________________

I agree that the majority of Americans want to go back to something they recognize.

I think that maybe, Obama’s support of gay marriage will be the final straw. Obama really wanted the queer money, it is a lot, and I’m sure Obama thinks that people will forget about it before the election. I hope Romney doesn’t let us forget.

People in this country nearly all would have helped Rromney cut the hair of the little long haired boy back in the early 60’s. Most of us would have at least seen humor in it.

There is much that I don’t like about Romney, he is too liberal for me, but the press calls him conservative. To me that is silly, but if people hear Romneys positions and then hear the press call him conservative most people will realize that they too are conservative and that the Freepers are ultra conservative.

I have high hopes for this election, the Senate is in play and unlike Nancy Pelosi I think the House is Republican for a decade or more, at least until the boomers die off.

My secret hope is that a conservative house and senate will find that Obama was not qualified as a Natural Born Citizen and back up all he did. I know that sounds silly but it is not impossible with a large enough majority. We need to really stir it up! I believe that the hiring of Czars is more than un-constitutional, it is anti-constutional, impeachable. The congressional leadership is complicit in the fraud of Obama that was foisted on this country by the Obama election and presidency. It should have never happened if we had loyal Americans in Congress and in the Judiciary.

My kids, grand kids and great-grand kids may have a chance to live in freedom after all.

“This is very early in the campaign process for an incumbent president to be significantly behind in polling.”

Hmmm. Probably true for dem incumbents. They have had three years of adulatory media. The negative stuff doesn’t start hitting the general public until R’s start buying time on TV. OTOH, R incumbents are frequently down substantially at this point. I think W was polling considerably behind John Kerry about now. That’s because W had, at that point, had three years of unremittingly negative press.

It’s the timing of the negative campaign that causes this difference. It’s constant against R’s. It only happens to D’s in year four.

HEADLINE AP :

Mitt drove across the US in feezing rain with his dog duct taped to the roof of a gas guzzling car

it was reported in Newsweak that Mitt said the "F" word in 1987 after bumping his head on a sharp corner

sources close to DU report that Mitt once urinated outdoors behind a bush in 1979

It’s early, early, early and the dogs against Romney have just begun to be unleashed. But it’s much better for Romney to be sitting where he is now, than to be 8-10% down. With Romney near or at 50%, it’s a psychological victory and people who like to back a winner will jump on his bandwagon.

If this sort of margin holds up, watch the entire focus to shift to the Senate. The battle there will be as fierce as we’ve ever seen.

Excellent post and absolutely spot on for how the vast majority of people decide their vote. It is general appearance, seeming maturity and reassurance - particularly after such a chaotic drunken fling with the exotic - that voters will be looking for. Specific issues count for less...except where they reinforce that general vision (and in this case gay marriage just doubles down on the “exotic”, the strangely different, which merely reinforces the vision that is taking hold now). If Obama were truly smart, he’d find something very traditional to latch onto, particularly in the economic realm, not double down on the exotic stuff.

I agree it is worse for Republicans because, as you say there is a lap-dog, slobbery press, building up dem presidents. Especially with the current Occupant ... everything he does is “historical!” and “unprecedented”.

Also, polling is biased, the pollsters usually attribute more democrats to the polling sample than are really in the population.

Which is all the more reason to be surprised at O-Blame-Bush’s negative numbers. He has taken a true 5-10% hit with his gay marriage stance. He’s getting Hollyweird money for it but I believe he’s lost a lot of votes.
