this tea party festival in September is expectin 50 to 80 k people

I am so happy to see that there is another major rally in the works. The first one really revved alot of us up in this country and we need this one and more in DC on the mall.(and they clean up so nicely after wards!)

It makes the Dems really nervous!

Glad to see this Jim, so will a lot of anti-Obama voters here who have been dealt a crap sandwich this election with our nominees but still see another term of Obama as far worse then any other outcome

I didn't understand his post to say you were pro-Obama. Rather, ABO have been trashed, called less than conservative, RINO, abortion loving and banned etc....

In his truce, he still uses the RINO term they have cast over us. I think an apology is more in order than a truce.

I can see another scenario. A Romney win will entrench the GOP-E socialists in the party. A President Romney would form a coalition between Congressional RINOs and Dems and hang the Tea Party out to dry. And he will use the power of his office to get more GOP-E candidates in 2014 and fight the rise of the Tea Party tooth and nail - and will be hard to dislodge in 2016, leading to yet another electoral disaster in 2018 and 2020 like we saw in the end years of the Bush Admin, due largely to the inherent RINO problems infesting that administration.

100% DEAD ON RIGHT.

We need to let the collapse and the civil war happen on Zero's watch. Hold the line on judicial appointees at the Senate. Hold the line on the budget in the House. Zero is not all-powerful; not yet, anyway.

I think the exact opposite is true, getting called on the carpet for admitting to crawling across broken glass to pull the Romney lever if he is our nominee was my point.

The fact we all here dislike Obama is unquestionable, but those of us who realize what a disaster he will be with 4 more years will logically vote to remove him and at least have a CHANCE for sane executive decisions being made.

“If O’bambi is returned to office, no more complaints; just look in the mirror for the right person to blame.”

The blame (100% of it) goes to those that voted for the stupid bastard in the primaries.

If that fits you, look in your own mirror.

If all you wanted was lots of liberal and moderate votes in Nov you should have nominated Hillary for the GOPe.

If your goal is to get conservative voters, you don't nominate a liberal puke like Mutt Romney!

Romney I suspect, will be more consistently conservative than W.

I have to disagree. President Romney, IMO, would exploit the divisions in the GOP and form alliances between RINOs and Dems to push his socialist-lite version of government.

Oh, and a big reason why conservatives are hesitant to back Romney is that we saw what happened with the GOP-E being let off the leash during the Bush years. They trashed the GOP brand and seem driven to do the same with Romney.

I most emphatically agree that our fire power should be directed at the Leftist scum that threatens all we hold dear, and not at acerbating differences among Conservatives.

But I wish that we could get more Conservatives focused on really targeting some of the most common fallacies that run through the whole complex of those in what I call the "Academic/Media complex"--that is, on the sloganized fantasy that was inculcated into the useful idiots who attend & attended Obama rallies, and chanted like zombies for changing our heritage into the nightmare we see being constructed, step by step, today.

We need a better use of tactical intellectual firepower. And Free Republic is a wonderful training ground for perfecting delivery techniques.

What exactly do I mean? Well, here is a brief list of absolutely--demonstrably--false premises that underlie most Leftist thought, which can be easily refuted, yet often go unchallenged:

1. Those who fail have somehow been wronged by those who succeed.

2. Experts planning the allocation of resources, both human & material, can improve on what people planning their own lives, and aware of their own strong & weak points, can achieve with themselves & any other resources that they control.

3. That it is "moral" to solve the immediate problems--real or imagined--of troubled individuals & groups at the expense of the multi-generational principles & concepts that have guided all true Western Progress over the Centuries. (This refers to the debasing of marriage, our family structures, our Constitutional contract & liberties, our currency & the sense of who we are & from whence we came, in the name of Marxist theory on such things as "fairness," "social Justice," "gender equity," etc., etc.)

Had folks not voted for Perot in protest of George H. W. Bush’s broken “No new taxes” pledge, Bill Clinton would not have been elected. The current president won’t get a majority let alone a plurality of the vote unless there is a similar protest vote. The circumstances are marginally different but Obama is considerably more of an imminent threat to our survival than Clinton was. It is what it is.

The rule is simple; vote for the more conservative candidate. Always.

I can't find where he says that in the post. He said vote for the Conservative candidates, not the most Conservative candidates. I'm not sure if this clarifies anything.

I don’t care what other members do for Romney, but please do not expect me or any other pro-life, pro-family, pro-gun, pro-small government person who declines to support him to join in on the Romney parade.

I assume that opposition to him will not be censored? Or will we be expected to be silent?

The goals of mormonism go far beyond this election. It would be a shame if FR were again used as a proselytizing tool for that anti-Christian sect.

I agree, Zman and betty and so many more. And I thank JR for this much needed thread and post of healing and truce here on FR.

I have been spending a lot of time thinking and praying about this, and as I have stated, despite his warts, past history, flip-flops, etc. And despite favoring Sarah, Cain, Santorum and then Newt, should he go on and get the committed 1,144 delgates needed to win the GOP nomination, I will vote for Romney in order to defeat Obama. It is, IMHO, absolutely vital for the welfare and future of our nation that we remove Obama.

At the same time, as Jim says, we simply MUST also put in place a House and Senate that will hold Romney to the promises and commitments he is making, should he win. On his own site, those commitments are listed...we should all know and memorize tham and then hold him to them, because for the most part, they of themselves are good statements of intent.

However, given his record and background, we must also at the Federal level, at the States level, and clear down to the counties and towns, put in place people who will absolutely in any area of their influence, hold him to them.

If we do, I believe he will have to keep these commitments which are altogether different than what he did in Mass where the liberal State Legisalture had a hammer lock majority on every decsion and appointment he made.

If we are blessed by God in Heaven and His Son, Jesus Christ through the Holy Ghost, in answer to our prayers, to accomplish these things, I believe we can double down on 2010 here in 2012 and begin the turn around we all so desperately desire and work for...and make no mistake, we are going to have to all work, and work hard to make this possible.

But I believe it is possible and I am glad that FR will now be on the mend as a result of the actions and statements of the owner, Jim Robinson, so we can all take part at whatever level of that our conscience dictates we become involved. In this way we can go forward and uniteldy remain a force for good and agent of constitutional change in our society and nation.

God's speed to us all, and may He hear our prayers and answer them in His mercy to allow us to restore this Republic.

If you can't vote for Mitt you are faced with a dilemma - vote directly for Barry or vote for Barry by not voting? What to do?

You raise an interesting point. If Zero wasn't an ineligible Communist controlled by George Soros, I might consider voting for him, just so TSHTF on his watch.

But I can't do that, any more than I can vote for Romney.

So, I will vote my conscience--probably Virgil Goode of the Constitution party--and let the rest of the deluded sheeple decide which statist gets into the White House.

NRA: Obama poised to ‘stack the court’

byJoel Gehrke Commentary Staff Writer

President Obama, if reelected. will “stack the court” with a majority that could circumscribe Second Amendment gun rights to a dramatic degree, the National Rifles Association (NRA) warned today.

“If those three left, he could stack the court with a 6-3 majority rule for the next 30 years,” said Chris Cox, executive director at the NRA’s Insitute for Legislative Action. “If that happens, the Second Amendment will be reduced to a government-granted privilege.”

Cox was referring to the possibility that Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg (age 79), Justice Stephen Breyer (age 73), and Justice Anthony Kennedy (age 75). Kennedy is often the swing vote in 5-4 decisions.

Ginsburg, as Cox noted today and in the past, has called for “a future, wiser” Supreme Court to overturn recent Second Amendment decisions such as the case that overturned the gun ban in Washington D.C.

There is a big Tea Party Express rally for Paul in Austin this week end. If I thought I could get away with it I post an article about it. But I have seen to many banned for doing stuff like that so I am not going to risk it. It is ok to be a Paul supporter here as long as you don’t make to much noise. I think I got a slight pass since Paul is my congressman, I know he is a little nuts and has some crazy ideas but hey no one is perfect and he is very good on spending.

Excuse me? Am I living in a parallel universe? Is this not the biggest WTF ever?

Just Damn! I goolged it and you are right...

Ron Paul to hold Tea Party Express Rally at the Texas State ...

I think this is the one Cruz and Rand are going to be at, but I'm not sure.

I know that there is a thousand local chapters of "Tea Parties" all over the county and no real central organization. And I understand this (bleep) is in Austin, Texas - hippie liberal capital of the USA.

But - this is a deal breaker for me. If the Tea Party wishes to associate with ass-clown Ron Paul - then to hell with them.
