I guess this family has never heard of arriving at the airport “At least 1 hour prior to departure” to avoid this. Idiots miss a flight that they likely knew about for weeks, so instead of stepping up and admitting that they were late ... no, let’s blame the TSA.
I say get rid of the TSA. Plain and simple, it is the state encroaching upon our liberties.
Maybe I missed something in a quick review of the original article, but nothing has been reported about how much time this ate up. The full hour could well have been allowed. The gummit ought to come right out and say “if you would be slow to strip search, allow more time.”

That’s why I stated in the other post. You SHOULD arrive 2 hours before your flight. It’s to avoid these kinds of situations. But in this situation, the TSA also had fault as how the F can you still hassle a visibly sick kid? They’re visibly white, a mother and kid, why not waive them in? The crowd will understand.
I’ve seen it before on flights: wheelchairs, crutches etc. The line of people will know why. Not a biggie.
The time isn’t relevant, nor in the larger picture is the missed flight.

We have our State Police. They are euphemistically called DHS and TSA.
I agree with you on this point. Unfortunate, if this is their first time traveling. But if not, they were foolish in not arriving much sooner given their “special” needs.

The family had a financial agreement with the airline, they purchased services from the airline at an agreed price.
The federal government hurtles over the 10th Amendment and sets its self up on private property and gets between the airline and its customers.
If the airport or the individual airlines set up security checkpoints, that is one thing. That would be part of your agreement with doing business with them. If they violate you and treat you children like trash, you will no longer give them business.
The federal government monopoly and their TSA goons have no place there.
