I am "Divorcing" the GOP-E and "Republican Party" effective TODAY!
obama wont last 4 years
“Well, fine. If you dont vote against Obama, youre voting for his next two or three Supreme Court picks.”
True, as well as our future in coal, natural gas, oil, etc.
Among many other things that the President can do.
I’m starting to wonder if there is a conspiracy on this site...
Perhaps some are intentionally calling out Mitt so that the far right base will absolutely work against him, and if so why? Any conservative cannot realistically believe that 4 more years of Obama would be good for this country?
So why? One may think its just a rant against an establishment that has forsaken conservative roots...maybe that’s all it is. Hurt feelings that “the” perfect conservative candidate didn’t win the nomination.
Perhaps something else? Maybe some conservatives WANT Obama to be president four more years so that there will be an uprising within the Republican party? They may be hoping that four more years of Obama will create so much discuss with the Repubs that there will be a mass exodus to the constitutional party?
If so not a bad strategy, and I believe a constitutional party is the direction to head; however, not at risking four more years of Obama. Whatever the reason it is dangerous for our country to allow four more years of the current regime. At this point, unless you are a champion for the constitutional party candidate what is the point of continuing the anti-Mitt rant?
“Romney doesn’t have a chance anyway.”
HA! Like Newt would have a chance! Like Perry would have a chance! Like Santorum would have a chance!
Get real dude - these guys could even convince their fellow republicans/conservative that they had a change.
You guys are now getting to be predictable and boring...and you wonder why Jim Rob can’t raise funds fast enough...I gave in the past, but no more if this website continues to degenerate.
It basically castrates a person political influence in the two main parties as they no longer have a voters say in the primary.
If you are not going to vote for Romney, I suggest you update your business plans for the headline “Obama Wins!”.
Everyone assumes that he is going to be beaten, I think it will be very close.

______________
Who knows? I subscribe to the William F. Buckley school of thought...vote for the most conservative candidate that can win. Well, we have a two person race...one is Barrack Obama, the most liberal senator turned president this country has ever had. The other is a moderate to liberal business man. Neither are Ronald Reagan, but I am voting for Mitt. Obama has done enough damage.
We don’t cut off our noses to spite our faces.
We work TODAY toward a new, Tea style, conservative party for 2016. It takes years to get such a thing accomplished. Never will we be stuck with RINOs again.
But this doesn’t mean we can’t vote out the antiAmerican commie, even if we replace him with a normal liberal democrat. There is a difference.
I didn’t tell you. I told the other chap.
Amen. On a related note, I remember lurking around some liberal websites during the '08 campaign and they were having the same tantrums.
Right behind ya.
I'm an ole great-granny - my first vote was for Ike.
I was 'active' for many years and held leadership roles/Convention delegate etc etc -
Did investigative reporting years back, including infiltrating a meeting of the DSCO (Democratic Socialist Organizing Committee) where the lead speaker was the then Seanate Majority leader in our state - democrat. He stood up to the podium, whipped a card out of his pocket and said: "I, like you, am a card carrying Socialist, but..." and went on to lament they had suffered a HUGE setback with the election of Reagan.
He then went on to outline their new strategy of infiltrating and taking over the Democrat Party.
That was over 30 years ago. Anyone argue their success?
They have now done the same with the Republican Party - which is now the GOPe. Make no mistake. They now all pee in the same pot, pushing the same agenda, first and foremost the NWO (New World Order) hand in hand with the UN AGenda 21.
If there are any of you not up to snuff on these - may I suggest: "Get your stupid head outta the sand!"?
Once it's official that Willard if the nominee, altho' I will vote against obamamam, I will renounce my Republican affiliation and register as Independent. (And head further into the woods.)
Go for it. Dole didn’t have a chance, McCain didn’t have a chance, and Romney doesn’t have a chance. That’s what happens when the GOP-E puts up liberals and moderates. They get beat.
/johnny
____________
True, but W. was a compassionate conservative (oye, veh) and he won. And he gave us many bad things, but he also stacked the Supreme Court and the rest of the federal bench with some very conservative constitutionalists.
To be fair, Dole was up against an incredibly good economy in 96 and McCain was leading until the collapse of Lehman and the financial crisis hit and it became a change wave election. Obama is not popular and the economy still sux. Now, Romney is not great (he’s barely good) but his opposition is in much worse shape than the other to examples you cite.
Personally I still think Obama wins because Americans are just that stupid.
Sorry, you do not speak for Conservatives on Free Republic.
So who’s the “perfect” conservative candidate? Newt? No. Santorum? No. Palin? No. Those of you who “won’t vote for Romney” are thus willing to let Obama head us to socialism for another four years and possibly pick two lefty liberal marxist Supreme Court judges. But, by not voting you’ll show ‘em, won’t you?
And daddy's political connections. But, hey, maybe a wealthy political insider is just the kind of man we need to bring change to Washington and return power from the elites to the people. /sarc
Scott Walker
I know....I chimed in. I’m with him.

I think everyone on this thread would agree that he is The Man right now. Unfortunately, he wasn’t running....
“On a related note, I remember lurking around some liberal websites during the ‘08 campaign and they were having the same tantrums.”
The worse part if that ‘real conservatives’ (to borrow a phrase from our dejected brethren here) are not whingers. Everyone in the Republican diaspora had their candidate to chose from and it was a fair fight and Romney has won.
The cry babies on this tread (and others) are more like hysterical liberals!
Let them have their temper tantrums and let’s hope sense prevails at the end.
Your argument is with yourself, and I disagree with some of your conclusions.
Conservative no longer means automatic Republican.
Thus you are just seen here on out as an Independent as the only influence the media cares about is money and polls on votes and which category demographically and party wise. I think where these numbers are most apparent is in the Republican primaries. You see a percentage voting for Romney and you see the percentage that did not. Unfortunately the even smaller percentage going forward of those that did not vote for Romney aren't in a high enough percentage to influence anything newsworthy.
These aren't tantrums. They're fundamental disagreements with the direction the party is taking. They'll be over than the Republican party decides to be conservative again. If you're interested in taking sides in this year's war of the empty suits and the hollow rhetoric that apolitical, amoral consultants poll test and put in their mouths, then enjoy it to your heart's content. The rest of us who have actual standards for who we think should fill the shoes of George Washington, Thomas Jefferson and Ronald Reagan will stick to them.
I think Mitt has a good chance. Only one incumbent who replaced the other party when first elected has lost his reelection bid in modern time — Jimmah Carter.
So yes, the deck is stacked against anyone the Republicans nominate.
Obama is the favorite, but his economy is in shambles.
You never know...
I get being disappointed with Romney. I was a Perry supporter myself and think he would have been a much stronger conservative candidate. But the thing is, Romney got the most votes in the GOP primaries. If a conservative had gotten more votes, wed have a conservative nominee, its as simple as that. Dropping out isnt going to prove anything.
Perry is who I was for also. However Romney won, and I am sure we are going to spend the next 6 months reading so many posts about how I won't vote for him blah blah blah.
Then if he wins there will be wailing and gashing of teeth.
If he loses there will be I told you so blah blah blah.
For me those people have lost all credibility and about the only reason I might like to hear from them is to know who to beware of in the future because I would have great doubts about whoever they support down the road. I have a tough time with quitters and don't value their opinion or advice.
Say what you want. Not going to vote for Romney. Your insults are rejected.
It’s not that the GOP is stupid- it is that THEY ARE CORRUPT AND PART OF THE PROBLEM.
Reality check-we conservatives really are a minority in the USA, despite the MSM propoganda to the alternative.
The USA has been on a steady decline since the 60’s, “managed” at times by Republicans, only a few actual conservatives managed to bring us back from the brink for a few years (AKA Reagan).
Not voting is a perilous position. Mr. Obama cannot be allowed another term.
Does that mean you are voting for Obama or just not voting at all which is also a vote for Obama? Or maybe you are one of those write in or third party guys which is also a vote for Obama. Let’s remember the objective.....BEAT OBAMA!
Won’t do any good to re-register. Still only have to dopes to choose from.
Once a FReeper learns that what you wrote is true, they will be on their way to recovery. Thanks.
I finally ‘woke up’ from the nightmare from GOP. They’ve taken the “I Won” reeeaaalllly well. Like they always did/do.
The groundswell 9/12 project, the TEA party movement that brought the 2010 ‘victory’ for conservatives. Then what happened? ‘Nice, now go sit in that back row of seats (and wait your term)’ by the nice party elites, and we had them competeing for ‘who’s the nicest guy in DC’.
The usually SC justice pick scare tactic no longer worked on me, it did its jobs for GWB then McCain.
Ironically I just switched back over from Independent to Republican so I could vote for Newt yesterday. But I can switch again whenever I want to.
So Romney lent money to someone who started a successful business with it, and this somehow makes him a genius qualified to be president? No, it makes him a rich boy who used money to make money. He's not a complete idiot, but with the kind of money he had access to, you only need to be of average intelligence at best to profit off of it. Besides there were a tiny handful of companies Bain actually was involved in starting. Almost all of their work was taking failing businesses, getting the owners to sign contracts under duress that put almost no risk on Bain, and to rig up the financial mechanisms so that even if the businesses went bankrupt, which they did a huge amount of times, Bain would still profit. Bain is the story of how big money privatizes the gains and socializes the losses. It's crony capitalism and corporatism at its finest, run by the kind of heartless vultures that give capitalism a bad name.
Good response. With either Obama or Romney, the gays take over. And Romans tells us "God gave them up to depravity". Success comes from God. And it appears He has given up the U.S.
On the bright side, God always keeps a remnant. Stay strong.
Too simplistic an objective. Not the best plan.
the only way i’d vote for romney is if he wins and there are plans afoot to primary him out in 2016
Agreed. I’m part of the I’d rather have someone with me
70 per cent of the time than 0 per cent of the time. Someday
a true conservative could be nominated by the GOP. Probably
the same year the Dems nominate a conservative.
I’m voting for change...in the White House.
(Ha...look at site I just noticed:)
http://www.republicansforobama.org/
>>Republicans for Obama is a grassroots organization of proud party members who all share one important trait we are Americans first and Republicans second.
Founded in late 2006 as part of the nationwide effort to encourage then-Senator Obama to run for the Presidency, our volunteer-run, grassroots group now includes thousands of members from across the nation. Together, we represent a cross-section of the millions of Republican and conservative independents who support President Obama’s reelection in 2012.
Although we have campaigned, worked for, and voted Republican all our lives, we recognize that President Obama is the right leader for our country at this time. Our current Republican leadership is unable to stand up to the most extreme elements in our party, no matter the circumstance. Meanwhile, President Obama has challenged his own party on numerous issues, including taxes, healthcare and foreign policy. President Obama has forged a pragmatic, common-sense path forward during a challenging time.
Where I am I have to tell them no affiliation because there is an Independent party.
Voted for Newt in SC’s GOP primary. Beginning to think I might do more good as a registered Democrat, as I was until Carter.
Better objective: Vote in gridlock unless we have an actual conservative running for President. That minimizes the damage during the times when the tyrants are in charge. The only time we should have legislation (or the repeal of said legislation) soaring through unchecked is when a conservative is leading the party.
Tactic may make you feel good but will not change Conservative minds.
“Look at it this way...its not a vote for Romney, but a vote against Obama.”
Look at it this way: It’s a vote for Romney.
You can move the words around all you like but you are voting for Romney.
There is no such thing as a “vote against”. We just use the phrase to make us feel better about doing the same stupid thing over and over and over.
They are all riding in the same limo.
Bottom line, the government and all those in it are corrupt to the core.
Fixing government by traditional means is not even an option.
Perzactly! And isn’t this what Conservatives (Tea Party types, if you prefer) have been trying to do since 2010? It’s better than just going along.
No one has said they will skip the election and not vote, so why would you imply that's the case?
Speaking for myself, I intend to vote for the Constitution Party's presidential candidate, Virgil Goode, and for any conservatives downticket. My conscience and my responsibility to God will not allow me to cast a vote for an abortion-enabling, homosexual-loving liberal.
“...If you dont vote against Obama”
The only way to vote “against” Obama is to not vote for Obama.
Did anybody here say they were voting for Obama?
But really, there is no line on the ballot that says “against”.
You only get to vote “for”.
You really aren’t hearing what the Conservatives on Free Republic are saying.
