It won’t last. There was already a clash, I believe in Chicago. A public meeting. It ended up in a fist fight.
The vast majority of Hispanics there are either from Mexico or Cuba.
They by their sheer numbers might not care so much about a single half Peruvian.
Why wouldn't they be? Zimmerman's only half latino. And the press is stirring the war between blacks and whites. Latino's would be smart to lay low.

Apparently it’s open season on Mr. Zimmerman and any person who attempts to allow him his Constitutional rights.
A friend of mine had a problem at a sports facility with some out-of-control black teenagers, but the black woman manager who responded refused to help and said they had their “rights.” The white male supervisor was afraid to intervene.
He has an Anglo surname so to most he’s not one of them. I knew an attorney in West Texas who would not take her new hubby’s surname as she felt his Anglo name would hamper her and her clients’ rights before Latino jurors. And this was like 25 years ago, so imagine how much more polarized it is today.
Zimmerman isn’t Mexican. That’s the reason. The various Latin American populations don’t really like each other that much.
What’s the Peruvian lobby’s name? I don’t know. either.

And chances of them coming out in support of any Latino who's embraced the American way of life is zilch.

He's described as Hispanic/White. No hispanic under the age of 29(those likely to be violent) describes themselves as whites. Whites are the enemy. Having taught adolescent hispanics from every country in Latin America,save Argentina, they looked at Americans as white. i had a 13 year old Colombian girl who, when studying Reconstruction, said I must be a Klansman. When I asked her why, she said i was white. I called her up asked her to put out her arm, held my arm next to hers and asked her,"Who's whiter?" She returned to her seat shocked and I said,"And I'm only half Italian. You should see my dad." But that's their thought processes.
It surprises me too. George Zimmerman’s mom should do an emotional interview with a Spanish language television station. If he gets Hispanics to empathize with him, it’ll be much harder for the media to keep going with the Racist White Devil meme.
