The Rasmussen Reports daily Presidential Tracking Poll for Friday shows that 24% of the nation's voters Strongly Approve of the way that Barack Obama is performing his role as president. Forty-one percent (41%) Strongly Disapprove, giving Obama a Presidential Approval Index rating of -17.
In a hypothetical Election 2012 matchup, Mitt Romney earns 48% of the vote, while President Obama attracts 44%. That's Romney's biggest advantage in over a month.

Another HORRIFIC week for Obama and as I predicted once the focus and heat turns on him after the primary he will sink to where he really belongs amongst the electorate.... low 40’s will be hist final resting place and I know the ABO idea is not popular here but will be across this nation come November.
“Im expecting a massive loss if Romney does what he did to his conservative competitors in the primary.
>>Didnt he attack them relentlessly?
I meant Obama will lose. If all the facebook posts of my former students (95% black) are any indication, NO ONE except the usual 15% of mindless drones will vote for Obama. Most of the kids are STILL liking Ron Paul.
Obama will be down by 8 on Election Day.
I can’t agree more. The guy carries all the worst traits a man can have. He may have some good ones but they are so outweighed by the bad...
“Mitt Romney earns 48% of the vote, while President Obama attracts 44%”
Of course, the Hilliaryites (Federal government), who attempted to shove, liar over Bosnia Hillary, will NOT, and have never been on the side of The Undocumented in the White House.
So they’ve now shoved Mandate-Mitt before us.
You must be a Stupid White Person clinging to your guns and bibles.
And, I have not seen JR take issue with the fact that some posters feel that way. As I tried to make clear to you, I have seen JR give a big ol’ ZOT to those who cross the line of implying that anyone who doesn’t agree with them is a Zer0Bot. That’s a simple fact, whether you like or not.
Getting rid of thugbama for me in November has nothing to do with Myth.
We have to send a message that we are not going to be a communist nation!
I think pretty much every FReeper realizes that this is Jim’s forum and that therefore he sets the rules.
But that still leaves the question of what are the rules?
It is almost certain that the Presidential general election will be between Obama and Romney.
Many FReepers who are true-blue conservatives look at that choice and very much prefer for Romney to win rather than Obama. That is just a fact. They are conservative AND they prefer for Romney to win over Obama.
Others despise Romney so much that they are indifferent between the two, or at least they vow that they will not cast a vote for either one. I believe JimRob is in this category.
So what are those who want Romney to beat Obama supposed to do over the next seven months? It is a huge election. There will be many twists and turns. Events, issues, gaffes, polls, debates, etc. Always for the last three Presidential election cycles this place has been very busy. We who want to follow and discuss the election here (just as we have done for over a decade), and who think America will be better off if Obama loses to Romney, need some clear guidance from the top regarding what is or isn’t allowed here.
I meant Obama will lose. If all the facebook posts of my former students (95% black) are any indication, NO ONE except the usual 15% of mindless drones will vote for Obama. Most of the kids are STILL liking Ron Paul.

Wow. That’s encouraging. Anything to get these folks OFF the Demplantation and see a different side of things is AWESOME!!
That said ...I sort of worry about Ron Paulites and which way a lot of them will go. I suspect most won’t even turn out to vote, which is what my goofy son did at the ONLY opportunity he would ever have to vote for RP.
“Obviously, Rassmussen did not poll Free Republic, or these numbers would have looked much better for Brak. :)”
You got that right.
I respectfully disagree. I believe Romney will carry roughly forty states, handily.
Obama will carry eight to ten states, but just barely. Romney will win in an almost landslide, 55% to Obama’s 45%. Both the house and the senate will go heavily Republican. The Democrat Party will be the minority party for at least the next twelve years.
The Democrat Party can halt the losses, but....only by forcing Obama to resign immediately, which they will not do for racial reasons only. The power brokers in the Democrat Party know that Obama is a loser, but....they will go down with him, rather then boot the first USA Black POTUS!!!
If you want to continue posting here it's probably best to keep it to yourself.
“it is going to be tight”
I’m cautiously optimistic that Obama will lose by double digits, but don’t expect our sensationalized media to admit that. What ratings do they get if the result is a foregone conclusion?
Four years ago I saw a lot more support for Obama in my neck of the woods; now I see more foreclosures & unemployment.
None of us will see all of the zots. Most of us won't see most of them. Some might not see any. Also, the zot button is not always applied in a perfectly scientific manner. This is a big issue and it will only get bigger as the election heats up (and it certainly will). I believe an edict from high atop Mt. FResno is in order.
I live in the Bronx and see only a 2012 sticker here or there at best. Same for Westchester.
I doubt it. I agree Romney won’t paste Obama, because he’s going to run the most boring conservative (and I don’t mean politically conservative, but risk free) campaign you have ever seen.
Reality is simple guys, and always has been, ANY republican that can’t be painted as an insane radical would beat Obama in November. Every single poll has indicated the electorate wants this idiot gone by overwhelming margins.
So the election boils down to simply this, is the option to replace Obama with someone who is going to make the electorate decide nope, he’s worse that Obama we’re staying put. Romney will never be able to be painted as worse than Obama to the swing voters, who have by and large abandoned the false prophet of Fauxbama.
I think Gingrich would have absolutely smoked OBama, because he would have taken the ideolgical battle right to america and framed the entire campaign on it and won. Romney won’t do that, so it will be a long boring campaign where the Democrats with nothing to offer but mud slinging because their record is utter crap are going to throw everything they can at Mitt, but its not going to work.
I think 5 points is a cakewalk for Romney. I agree it won’t be a blow out, because he won’t press any advantage he’s given and won’t take a damned risk at all.
Obama on the other hand will go negative, go over the top negative and the less it works the more negative and nasty it will go, and since they have nothing else to offer, will show his true character and by election day will be dropping in the polls every time he opens his mouth. This guy isn’t going to be a graceful loser, he’s going to be the bitter small man who was never capable of the job and the nastier he gets the lower he’ll poll.
Now with all that said, it disturbs me that Romney is going to be the nominee, but it is what it is at this point.
Number 1, I'm waiting to hear from Jim.
Number 2, if you think about it there will need to be much more detailed guidance than this.
Have you been here on FR for previous elections? The place catches on fire. There will be tons and tons of things to discuss. How will it be different this year? That is what we need to know.
Took her 15 minutes because she’s not a mom. a mom could have rebutted her in 2 minutes.
“Id just ask you to keep four things in mind: Justice Scalia just turned 78, Justice Kennedy will turn 78 later this year, Justice Breyer will be 76 in August, and Justice Ginsburg turned 81 about a week ago.
Thats worth repeating over and over..”
Scary thought......
Romney’s record of appointing judges in MA makes it even scarier! Probably little or no difference between Barack and Mitten’s list of candidates for SCOTUS.......
A vote for Romney is a gamble that he'll govern more like his recent rhetoric -- pro-Paul Ryan budget, etc., -- than he did as governor of Massachusetts. That's a point on which reasonable, committed conservatives can disagree.
It's not opinion, it's fact. Rasmussen has no peers when it's comes to polling accuracy.
Once the female vote starts to peel away from him its 8+. He started this whole war on women thing too soon. Too much time to counter attack.
This has to be one of his biggest platforms. Panic made him commit too soon.
The rule is very simple and I just reposted it here again for about the millionth time http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/2871707/posts. FR is a pro-God, pro-life, pro-family, pro-constitutionally limited government, pro-gun, pro-liberty organization. Romney is none of the above (literally). We will not vote for or support a known abortionist, homosexualist, gun grabbing, big government mandate loving constitution trampling progressive LIAR!! And we will not waste our limited resources on FR for those who wish to defy our strongly held positions or our nations founding principles.
I’ve been posting and reposting this message forever on FR. It’s on our front page and at the top of our main forum page. And every day now I have to post reminder to the thick headed. I’m getting pretty damn impatient with the surrender monkeys and useful idiots who continue slapping me in the face, stomping on my toes and poking me in the eye.
Romney is an offensive evil bastard to me!! Government approved/forced wholesale slaughter of millions the innocent unborn is just about the most evil thing I can think of. And this asshole Romney has we the taxpayers picking up the tab for his evildoing! This is the American Holocaust! Future generations will look back on this era and wonder why decent people didn’t put a stop to this slaughter.
NO ROMNEY!! FR WILL NOT SUPPORT ROMNEY!!
Get it?
I hope you didn't take my post as a threat. It was a warning. I have been here for many elections, and voicing support for the wrong Republican candidate will get you zotted, no matter how long you've been posting.
Sure it will, but zots are another matter entirely. The management appears to be practicing an extreme level of tolerance in that regard.
>That said ...I sort of worry about Ron Paulites and which way a lot of them will go. I suspect most wont even turn out to vote, which is what my goofy son did at the ONLY opportunity he would ever have to vote for RP.
I’d love for Ron Paul to run 3rd party...he’ll take WAY more Obama voters.
Add to that the fact that the New Black Panthers will continue to have a lock on the post of Attorney General.
“I meant Obama will lose. If all the facebook posts of my former students (95% black) are any indication, NO ONE except the usual 15% of mindless drones will vote for Obama.”
That’s very encouraging!
Absolutely correct. But watch how long it takes for some around here to call him a sellout the first time he posts a poll result we don't like.
no way do I vote for the “ham sandwich” .
“I have been here for many elections, and voicing support for the wrong Republican candidate will get you zotted, no matter how long you’ve been posting.”
So is it your viewpoint that to avoid getting zotted, the only options in the general election are to support Obama or remain silent?
As I posted above I’m getting pretty damned tired of being punched in the face. I will start punching back. And if the gross offenders refuse to back off, I’ll have no alternative but to go for the zot. I am not going to allow our limited resources to be wasted on support for a liberal progressive LIAR!!
I respectfully disagree, I really don’t think Obama has ever faced rejection or a hard struggle in his entire pampered life. When he gets a good ass kicking for the first time in his life, I think he’s going to start to come unhinged in a big way.
Agree, but, remember McCain did the exact same thing. He pummled his Republican opponents and then kissed Obama’s backside. Eight days before the election McCain told us that we had nothing to fear from an Obama presidency — eight days before the election!
We’ll see if Mitt McCain will act differently that his polical brother, John.
I live in the Bronx and see only a 2012 sticker here or there at best. Same for Westchester.

I live in Chicagoland and I have only seen two so far, surprisingly one was on a Ford F150 pickup truck in a more conservative area, the other one not so surprisingly was from a lousy driver in a rusted up Subaru.
LOL. Thanks for the update. Now, the next time you see your sandwich will be what we have left as a political option.
Correction...obviously supporting Obama would get (and deserve) a zot.
Romney at NRA convention right now:
http://www.c-span.org/Live-Video/C-SPAN/
However, I would like to know if people will be banned if they post that 4 more years of Obama will destroy the Republic, and America, as we know it will be gone forever, and that that scenario will not likely happen with Romney.
IOW, are freepers permitted to post the opinion that Romney will not be as bad for America as Obama?
I firmly believe that even Hillary would not have been as bad for America as Obama. I don't think anyone in our history, other than Woodrow Wilson is as horridly anti-American as Obama, and I believe that Obama has actually done more harm in 3 years than any previous President has done.
Will I be banned for saying so, as a pro-life, pro-American, across-the-board conservative? Even if I don't 'support' Romney? (I don't....not even close).
Major bttt for sound thinking vs invincible stupidity.
Does celebrating Obama’s misfortunes and deteriorating situation county as cheering for myth?
I hope not. What is bad for Obama is typically good for America.
(shrug)
Exactly. And those of us who love America will cheer for Obama's Marxist world caving in.
IMO, everything that shows a further deterioration of support for an outright traitor who is killing this country, needs to be cheered by every conservative.
If we are not unified in our revulsion for Obama, what will ever unify us??
What are the internals on this poll? Are the Dems still being oversampled?
As bad a candidate as Romney is, Obama seems intent on handing him the keys to the Oval Office by diving into full-throated left-wing Communist militancy from the 1960’s.
I can’t believe they are not off of this Trayvon Martin thing.
That could cause him to lose every state not in imminent need of a bailout.
Either he is too stupid to know how to triangulate or he actually believes his own PR that “we are the ones we’ve been waiting for”.
