Notice: Free Republic has been in full rebellion mode since 2008 and will remain in full rebellion mode for the duration!

No more Doles!! No more McCains!! No more RINOS!!

NO ROMNEY!!

Those who cannot stomach rebellion might as well start looking for a new home on the net!!

Those who have ignored my hundreds of posts on this crucial issue or who have doubted me these last three or four years might as well get used to it. FR will never support the abortionist, homosexualist, socialist, mandate loving, constitution trampling liar Mitt Romney.

In case you haven't noticed, a TEA Party rebellion is on and Free Republic signed on years ago. There is no turning back. No more crap from the GOP-e!! They've screwed us for the last time!! Karl Rove and Mitt Romney, et al, loathe conservatism and loathe the tea party and took it upon themselves to use their money and connections to destroy nearly every one of our conservative tea party candidates while pushing their big government RINOS. That makes them the enemy. I will not reward that betrayal by giving them my support or my vote.

FR is and will remain a pro-life, pro-limited government conservative site!!

We are beholden to NO ONE!! We bow to no kings!! We bow to NO RINOS!!

I'd rather fight and die like a man than bend over and be screwed by a RINO!! I refuse to kiss Karl Rove or Mitt Romney's rings!! They can kiss my rosy red ass instead!!

FUMR!! FUGOP!!

Long live the rebellion!!

Hope my message is clear.

-"I just assumed she'd done the math and figured the media had scarred her too badly for her to be able to run."

I've struggled with this rationale, but I keep coming back to the 'fighter' part in her. If we were to believe that she was the 'fighter' that she portrayed to be, then why not try? After all, look at what happened to those who were polling even LESS than her at that point in time - how did they make out once the primaries started (Rick and Newt)?

This country is too big and important to rely on the hopes of just one single person or candidate to turn things around towards 'perfection'. The most important thing that I see right now is to put the brakes on the utter destruction that Obama and his administration is doing at lightning speed. I don't want to sacrifice another 4 years (to cement a total of 8 years of his destruction) on mine and my kid's future for the sake of pure 'ideology' of having the optimal choice. I believe that the majority of the country feels this way.

The Fairness Doctrine...EPA and Environmental Fascism ...Private 401k’s, IRA’s, and retirement funds ...nationalizing the banks far beyond what they already have... why not? Government motors anyone? ...Obamacare - if he loses...they will go to work on another version and the court will be more favorable the next time.

These are some of the reasons I will vote against Obama for the sake of my children. SCOTUS provides the ultimate veto for unconstitutional behavior by government and it is one heartbeat away from being changed forever.

As Finny said to me earlier, "Do you know [any of] that for a fact? No. It's pure, blind fear talking."

AFAICT, the "warriors" in this "rebellion" have the most efficient plan. After the convention, either Gingrich or a dark horse pulls out a shock victory, or Romney will be so destroyed by Obama's team and the anti-GOP conservatives that, well, there's no reason to worry about a Romney Administration in any case.

Romney is a flawed candidate and you would have to go against the Word of God in I Timothy, Titus and Romans 13 to vote for him, the GOP (presidential level down to precinct) is corrupt beyond repair and must be destroyed immediately, but enabling or indirectly assisting the marxist pro-partial birth abortion baby-killer in chief, Holder, Geithner, Ayers, Malik Shabazz, Sebelius, Kagan, Sotamayor, Big Sis Napolitano, Hillary, Raspberry Beret Shinseki...all of these people in perpetual power are just the nasty medicine the country deserves.

The blood of volunbeer's children will be on the hands of Karl Rove (and those who actually voted for Romney in the primaries.)

So we will have a Gingrich Presidency or Obama Reelection and/or bust. And this situation will come about with or without campaign contributions, with or without participating in local elections and GOP precincts, volunteering at polling places, etc. Thus it is the must efficient. 100% correct either way with zero input necessary.

You must realize this, LibFree. Romney has a solid record of appointing liberal justices. He will appoint those with secretive backgrounds and claim they’re constitutionists, but time will prove otherwise.

Obama, on the other hand, will appoint radical liberals. THAT PROSPECT will keep our conservative justices Thomas, Scalio, Kennedy, Roberts, and Alito from even dreaming of retiring.

However, with a Romney on board — supposedly a “republican” — the older justices will be pressured and reassured about retiring by the GOP-e. The liberal republican wing will then get to tip the balance of the court back in the liberal direction.

That is a glaring reason why Romney is worse for the country than is Obama. And Romney showed in Massachusetts he could give a damn about being reelected.

It is a certainty that either Barack Obama or his Republican challenger (presumably, Mitt Romney) will take the oath of office next January--for four years.

I am not at all certain that this republic can withstand another four years of Barack Obama--especially since he will not be running for a third term in office, and will therefore be entirely uninhibited in his desire to move America considerably to the left.

In the end, therefore, I would much prefer to vote for the better of two imperfect candidates (and Barack Obama is so vastly imperfect as to be utterly objectionable, in my opinion), rather than to fly the flag of Philosophical Purity, while going down gloriously, in flames.

The so-called "Buckley Rule" (named after the late William F. Buckley Jr.) seems appropriate here: One would be well advised to vote for the rightmost candidate sho has a reasonable chance of winning...

Labeling Romney an “imperfect candidate” is generous in the extreme.

-"The behavior that I'm seeing though from some Freepers to others, in my opinion, is inexcusable. It's shameful and disgraceful, and I never thought I'd see it here on Free Republic. "

I truly find it alarming as well. This is bordering on a 'purist' mentality, that only the most pure way of thinking regarding the subject philosophy at-hand is what needs to be supported and tolerated. This is counter-productive and leads, not to growth of a movement, but to its eventual downfall from within, since it will ultimately self-marginalize itself outside the mainstream.

Even the Founding Fathers, while they were all solidly against defeating the British (who was the real enemy in trying to destroy their freedom), they also had divergent views on how to interpret the Constitution after it was signed (Federal vs States rights). Well, our most immediate and threatening enemy to our citizen's freedom and our Constitution (more than of any President in our history) is sitting right in the oval office right now.

Because I’m willing to go down in flames...........

This is the SAME reason so many conservatives gave for not voting for McCain in 2008. He would nominate liberals to the Supreme Court.

So, let’s take a look at McCain’s record on his votes ON the two liberal justices nominated by Obama, the man you and many others want to re-elect by following the lead of the mainstream media.

Kagan - No.

Sotamayor - No.

What I suspect now is to hear that IF McCain had been elected, he would have nominated justices who received his no votes

If the conservative temper tantum, helped by the mainstream media, had not happened in 2008, would we even HAVE Obamacare?

Let’s take a look at John McCain (the rino) and his vote on that, shall we?

Well, how about that. Another No.

Yes, he was the same as Obama. That’s why he could not be supported by conservatives in 2008, right? While the mainstream media encouraged you to stay home because that awful John McCain was just not conservative enough to earn your vote. It would have been horrible to have McCain (who DOES love his country) and Sarah Palin in the White House, preparing her for the 2016 nomination.

And again...........in 2012, good conservatives are willing to give the election to the mainstream media and Obama.

I have no problem not voting or doing a write-in and letting the GOP go down in flames with RINO Romney. But I am worried that that the race-baiting, social-justice-freebies Marxist will get to probably appoint two more Supreme Court Justices. Then we are all hosed forever... I’m still not sure what the hell to do. I want the GOP to burn to the ground due to their treatment of Sarah Palin. We need a game plan... we’re rudderless.

Mr. Robinson,

I have followed the “discussion” on this thread for the last two days. I have seen the vituperation thrown about freely and with abandon by many of your followers against those posters who have the temerity to voice a non- Politburo opinion about what to do in the next election. Yeah, I said Politburo. For a bunch of so-called Conservatives, you do Stalin proud. Conform or exile? Not much of a choice, but with this thread, you made it easy.

First , you, Mr. Robinson, issue a pronunciamento, early on that no one using your site [even if they pay for the privilege] could post any articles favorable to Romney. I thought that a bit odd, for a site where ideas are to be exchanged, but I filed it away, and went about my business.

Then you started calling your Jihad, and things became much clearer. I’ve seen at least one of your minions refer to people who have viewpoints differing from his [and I’m one] “cowards”. As a combat veteran of Viet Nam [and of a stretch on the DMZ in Korea] I resent that aspersion. I’ve seen a great deal of yelling, but not a lot of rationality. And if the price of trying to save the Republic requires me to abandon you and your acoloytes, so be it. If I wanted to a Lemming, I’d move to the sub-Artic.

So, please accept my resignation from Free Republic. I leave with mixed emotions. Joy and Ecstacy.

Damn right Jim.

You can expect the paid staffers and supporters of Romney now be coming on here and saying” I wasn’t really for him but obama is worse and we have to unite”

Must be so easy to pretend a guy is a republican let alone a conservative but then again it seems many from where he is from have a different view to what being a republican is all about.
For instance down here I’ve met many from the north east who will support Romney, have no problem with the homosexual / cross dressing agenda because in their ignorant words” they know some and they are nice”

Once they move down here those who had thought have themselves as a republican found out that they are looked as as Dems down here.
Just because they care about their own pockets does not make them a republican let alone a conservative.

I voted for McCain in 2008, so you’ve got the wrong guy. He was pro-life, pro-defense, and he picked Palin.

Romney, on the other hand, has a grotesquely liberal record. I’m surprised you can’t see the difference, swpa_mom.

Don’t be upset with us. We want to try to change your mind. We want to vote CONSERVATIVES all up and down the line. I know you believe in that. What state are you in?

  1. You don't know that McCain would not have appointed liberal justices - it's just speculation on your part. If you research the recent history of the Supreme Court, you will find that many of the most liberal justices were appointed by so-called moderate Republican Presidents.

  2. It is silly demagoguery to blame conservatives for McCain's loss to Obama. He lost the race when he went back to Washington and voted for TARP.

  3. Finally, as bad as McCain was, he was no where near as bad as Romney. McCain often crossed the aisle, but at least he had to make the trip. Romney is squarely seated on the other side of the aisle - and the far left side at that.
