Rush Limbaugh has drawn the ire of celebrity lawyer Gloria Allred, who sent a letter to the Palm Beach County state attorney requesting an investigation into whether the popular radio host should be prosecuted for calling a law student a “slut” and “prostitute” last week.

The [Florida} statute stipulates that anyone who “speaks of and concerning any woman, married or unmarried, falsely and maliciously imputing to her a want of chastity” is guilty of a misdemeanor of the first degree. Allred explained that the statute recently came to her attention as having never been repealed, and that it could very well apply to Limbaugh’s remarks as his show is broadcast from West Palm Beach.
Doesn't Ms Allred think this is an archaic law which reflects a male supremacist double standard on women's worth? Or will she advocate the use of the law to defend poor women of color, by the prosecution of all rappers and hiphop stations for using the term "ho?" Does she only care when privileged, educated young white women are defamed?
Fluke is chaste? Guess she doesn't need $1,000 per year for condoms.
How can she do this sort of thing without laughing at herself?

The law is discriminatory on it’s face since it only applies to the virtue of a woman and doesn’t provide equal protection for a man. Seems to me that would make it unconstitutional. I wonder if in any of her national news coverage Ms Alred has done the same thing. Not calling some woman a sl*t but impuning her virtue, etc in other areas. Turn around is fair play.

Ya got some problems, Gloria. Now, Fluck, Fluke, whatever, is now a public personality. Second, according to Webster's dictionary, Fluke described herself as a slut. Third, I hope you go through with this, not only does Rush have enough money to defend himself, but you will insure his audience continues to expand exponentially.

My first post in awhile. Popped on to say Gloria AllRED is the worst kind of ambulance chasing, media whore type of lawyer. She’s an embarrassment even to a so-called profession that’s filled with embarrassing vultures.
