Obama's Energy Plan -- Algae By Susan Jones February 24, 2012

(CNSNews.com) - "The American people aren't stupid," President Obama said on Thursday -- as he insisted that drilling for more oil on U.S. territory is "not a strategy to solve our energy challenge."

The president's solution? Algae, for one.

There are no quick fixes to the nation's eneergy problem, the president said, dismissing Republican calls for more drilling as a "bumper sticker."

"We’re making new investments in the development of gasoline and diesel and jet fuel that’s actually made from a plant-like substance -- algae," the president said at a campaign stop in Florida. "You’ve got a bunch of algae out here, right? If we can figure out how to make energy out of that, we’ll be doing all right."

Obama said the nation could replace up to 17 percent of the oil it imports for transportation with "this fuel that we can grow right here in the United States. And that means greater energy security. That means lower costs. It means more jobs. It means a stronger economy."

Obama's mention of algae drew snorts from one prominent pundit.

Earlier this week a Freeper posted that he predicts an announcement about algae from the everglades. This was before Obama went and spoke in Orlando.
Can’t remember what Article or who it was.

If algae is the Grand Elixir then build the plant and produce the fuel. Then figure the cost.

What? Already been done? Maybe that’s why algae oil isn’t just going like Gangbusters.

He has abandoned tire inflation as the solution to our energy needs?

No he hasn't abandoned it, just has applied it to our currency instead of tires.

******

I guess I must be stupid then, because I say let's drill for oil on U.S. territory land and see what happens.

Algae is the ONLY answer? Why can't there be TWO answers: Let's do algae research, and, at the same time, let's ALSO drill for oil on government lands.

Maybe it is just me, but I think President Obama is losing his power to think clearly and make rational decisions when he unbelievably argues and strongly believes that putting our resources into converting algae into energy is more important than immediately drilling for oil on government lands.

Yes. I think it is only right that we start calling President Obama "The Algae President".

Yes. Instead of President Obama's campaign theme of "Hope and Change", we now have "Hope and Algae."

Dream Hell! It is a damn nightmare come true.

The degree of ignorance of at least half of this country is shocking and dreadfully frightening.

I am as scared as in my worst nightmare of being launched upward, enjoying the exhilaration only briefly before realizing that the higher I go the further I will fall.

You are correct. The sheeple will buy anything. They are so stupid they will believe anything told to them by these evil bastards.

When the administration vilifies success as Frodo did yesterday in saying the rich should pay more taxes for the privilege of living in the U.S. a boundary has been crossed we probably can’t go back over.

The Bolshevik revolution is coming to us and it will work out the same way as before. Decades of shared and equal misery for most with power and privilege for many with no hope of change for the majority but to serve the few.

The pigs have become convinced that the successful don’t deserve what they have and don’t want to understand that the opportunity is there for all who work for it. In their future there will not even be opportunity. Eff ‘em, the have killed us all.
