Rick Santorum's claim that the Netherlands advocates mass murder through involuntary euthanasia has prompted a furious backlash from the Western European country, with local news sources calling the Republican a "crazy extreme" candidate making up facts to stir up his political base.
"Rick Santorum Thinks He Knows the Netherlands: Murder of the Elderly on a Grand Scale" fumed the headline of the newspaper NRC Handelsblad on Saturday.
The article references an interview, barely played up by the American press, in which Santorum claims that euthanasia makes up "10 percent of all deaths" in the Netherlands," and that many of those people were essentially murdered by the state.

Yes, this is such an important issue in America right now. Everything is just so peachy here in the USA that Santorum has nothing on the domestic front to talk about. He feels compelled to discuss Dutch politics.

I think many of you just snipe at Santorum about anything and everything because you are for Newt. It really doesn’t matter what Santorum says or does.
Santorum is the only person on our side this time other than Bachmann who has talked social issues and is unafraid to do so.
I haven’t heard Newt talk about Terri Schiavo. I am sure Rick Santorum would never be for euthanasia. He is a practicing Catholic.

Personally, I agree with Rick as I was furious over the Terry Schiavo state ordered murder.
However, I am just trying to lay out here how he is perceived by others that I know, and how the media is painting him into a corner with their questions using that perception.
He needs to quit talking about this, or he is going to risk alienating female votes. I don’t know of any other way to put it.
Newt Gingrich is also a Catholic. One problem we have here is that it’s unlikely they’ll be able to do the President/VP candidate trick because both of them appear currently to be residents of Fairfax County VA.

Has nothing to do with her supporting Santorum. Could care less. I don’t want her supporting Santorum as she has such a vulgar mouth. Anyway, she said anyone who supports social issues to stupid. I say anyone who does not support social issues are liberal. I will stand by that.
