Don’t understand how that wasn’t a TD at the end by the Ravens. Guy caught the ball in end zone, one foot comes down, then as second foot touches down he gets stripped...in the endzone. They had stated earlier when Brady dove in that as soon as the ball crosses the plane the play is over so no fear of brady fumble.

????

I agree. Why did they not challenge that? I hate the way the game ended. Even Brady said he “sucked” today.

You have to get both feet in bounds while in control of the football and maintain control afterwards. Ten years ago it might have been ruled a touchdown, but the rules that determine what constitutes a catch have been tightened.

Some of the rules are crazy like that.

I wondered the same thing, but "having control" and "having possession" after catching must include "surviving an attempt to strip the ball."

It's different from a touchdown on a run - incomplete pass, no matter where it would have occurred on the field.

Its the stupid “make a football move” rule. If you catch and get both feet down, you have to establish that you control the ball before going out or dropping it. If he had turned his body, stepped out, or just taken another step it would be a TD. Too subjective of a rule.

As for Brady, there was no question as to whether he had possession going into the EZ, and the nose just needs to cross the plane.
