Gingrich leads Romney among men 38% to 25%, followed by Paul with 21%. Among women, Gingrich leads Romney 42% to 26%, followed by Paul with 16%, and Santorum with 13%.

*snip*

The trend to Gingrich continues, with women leading the way. In the January 17-18 survey, Gingrich was leading Romney 29% to 28% among women, in this survey Gingrich leads Romney 42% to 26% among women. Gingrich has become the anti-Romney among women and that is driving his total share up. The debate on Thursday and his ex-wife problem did not slow the trend.

Women for Newt?

Was Newt’s response to the question about his wife his, “I’m paying for this microphone,” moment?

SC momentum appears to be with the Speaker but I'll wait for the votes to be counted. I'm hoping his "win" is decisive and none of this "split decision" Iowa stuff.

The risk of these late polls is those who might like Santorum because of the ex-wives, but were going to vote Newt to stop Romney, might reconsider the need and actually undermine the movement against Mitt.

With a little luck from the weather, and if this trend holds, Newt should win tonight.

I was able to reverse-engineer the PPP individual daily numbers from what PPP published, and these matched the ARG trend.

I didn't include the Clemson poll because they included too many undecided voters too close to the election, but I was able to normalize Clemson by a common correction factor and then their results DID fit this curve nicely as well.

Thankfully, Santorum may not be a spoiler and force this winner-take-all contest to flip to Romney!!!

And THANK YOU Sarah Palin, Governor Perry, and Jim Robinson for adding your support this week to Newt's momentum!

If you live in South Carolina, get to the polls by 7PM. Don’t vote for Romney. My preferences are Ron Paul and then Rick Santorum.
