Much has been written about the Democrat plantation. On this Democrat plantation, it is said that today's American blacks are slaves to the Democratic Party, much as their ancestors were slaves to their antebellum plantation masters. Then, as now, they were given scraps compared to their masters. Then, as now, running away or any disobedience by an individual was severely punished. Conservatives who have any exposure to "conservative" media are quick to point this out. What they fail to realize is that they, too, are on a plantation.

Not me. If Romney gets the nomination, I will not vote for him. No matter the consequences.
I am not on this plantation.
Ditto.
I don’t call the GOP the grand old plantation for nuthin.
Anyone have any idea how many blacks owned slavea?.Would Obama own some if he could?.
I understand that wasn’t uncommon in New Orleans.
You are mistaken, here. Conservatives are not on the Plantation, republicans who bow to the republican establishment are. Fewer and fewer conservatives call themselves republicans because of the establishment.

I’m not on your stinkin’ plantation and I ain’t votin’ for rumnuts.
The author teaches history and has no real world experience, yet; he writes about it. Not who I want to listen to.
The only connection between Baraq Obama and the descendants of American slaves is that his muslim ancestors sold them.
Republicrats are on that plantation, to be sure, we Independents ARE NOT! We Americans need a multiparty system so we can FINALLY vote for someone who actually shares our beliefs.
I agree. That’s why the Republican party needs to be co-opted such as the Marxists did to the Dems or it needs to be destroyed. Right now, no party represents conservatives.
What do you consider real world experience?
Don’t give up yet.
There’s still a candidate who shows great potential to get our Constitution back—Newt Gingrich.
The fight is not over.
That’s exactly the response I was looking for. I feel the same way.
” Not me. If Romney gets the nomination,I will not vote for him. No matter the consequences.”
I have been strongly in this camp and will not cast a ballot for him in my primary. That said, if we can take the Senate and maintain the house, then I expect legislation immediately to overturn Obamacare. When that happens we will either have a certain veto by Obama or a certain signing by a conservative. Romney will probably sign it but he could veto it, no one really knows for certian with him.
If we end up with Mitt then we still have a chance to get rid of it. If we get four more years of Obama then we will never get rid of it.
I prefer Santorum, then Newt, but am considering another, “hold my nose vote” if Mitt gets the nomination. I can not stomach allowing the liberty theft of Obamacare to become cemented in America. Honestly, this realization is depressing, but I have to admit that I changed my hard line...
The greatest strike we can make against the progressives would be to shape the Republican party along Tea Party principles. Like it once was.
This would not be so difficult—it only takes leadership.
I will vote for whoever is running against Romney in the primaries,
and for whoever is running against 0bama in the general.
I too am NOT on a plantation! I voted for Sarah in the last election and I will vote for her again!
