Santorum, Newt and Perry are all to the right of Romney.

If just one of them got all the votes, Romney would be history - and THAT is what we want.

None of the candidates are worth much (you name the candidate, someone will name the problems), but Santorum seems the best of the lot.
Since I don’t expect much from the government, all I want is someone to undo some of the damage Obama has done. The Federal Government is slow moving by design, that’s probably the best we can get from anyone.

Maybe after NH Perry will drop out. Being from the south, maybe his numbers will go to Newt. Newt should begin to climb back up anyway once the debates begin.

Conservatives should rally behind Santorum...support for the “lower tier” (Newt, Perry, Paul, etc.) candidates will only split the vote and hand the nomination to Romney (just like Fred did for McLame).

Since Newt and Perry are not gaining any momentum, both should drop out of the running and throw thier support behind Santorum who has the money and support to beat Flip Romney and has the conservative credentials to dethrone King Hussein III.

Newt was given every opportunity to shine in this race and he failed. He allowed Mittens to pummel him without any strong response and then went on some tangent about the judiciary for a week or two that no one cared about. This is a straight up anti Obummer economy election. Prattling on about the 9th circuit in IA made no sense as shown by his finish there.

Santorum got to where he is on his own. There is no evidence that the media had anything to do with it. If it were not for Hannity and Levin, he wouldn’t have had any air time at all. Since the media didn’t create him, they can’t destroy him. He is the strongest candidate we have by far.

Yes yes of course, Santorum who is at 24% should drop out so that the guy trailing him by 8 points can beat Romney?

Have you met my friend “logic?”

You just need to wait for the debate. Newt will win it again.

What you don’t get is that people respond STRONGLY to a conservative message when they are give the choice. Nobody gave Reagan a chance and he KIILED with massive landslides. Twice. Stop listening to the agitprop from the media. Romney is not the only chance, in fact he will LOOSE because he is the o-dude lite, and people will choose the real thing every time.

I am becoming resigned to the fact that Romney will win the nomination, and that a third party challenge will give Obama another term. Also, because conservatives hate Romney, GOP vote turnout will be weak causing the GOP to lose the House and only gain two seats in the Senate. Welcome to our socialist future, brought to you by the GOP Establishment and idiot FReepers who can’t see past their nose.

And the same thing could be said for all of them when they all had they’re week in the spotlight. The media keeps telling the sheeple that only Romney can beat Obama.THIS IS A LIE.Romney will be annihilated by Obama with RomneyCare flip flops. We will have two pairs of flip flops in Obama Romney. Give it time people will figure out Romney is not what he seems.

Looks like 4th place Newt is costing us this nomination by staying in the race at this point.

It won't be because of Santorum. It will be because of whiny assed so-called conservative purists, in synch with the marxist press damning anything short of the chosen one, Romney, to contend with the unknowable Kenyan.

You got a problem with that?

Translation: I believe Newt Gingrich may be falling out of the race because Rick Santorum looks more Presidential and is more conservative than McNewt. We are fortunate that Gingrich has self-destructed this early in the campaign instead of it happing in August, September, and October.

I'm not hopeful.

The petulant and unlikeable Santorum's just about the last "conservative" that I'd want nominated. He's a weak opponent for Romney; another inexperienced, big government, neocon lawyer.

Better Santorum than Romney, but better Romney than Gingrich.

Gingrich's behavior lately is simply deplorable, whereas Santorum's behavior is fantastic. Romney is Romney, but Santorum and Romney will motivate people to eject Obama out of office, whereas Gingrich won't.
