Palin: GOP Should Not Alienate Ron Paul Voters
NewsMax ^ | Jan. 4, 2012 | Staff

Sarah Palin said she wasn't surprised at Rick Santorum's success in Iowa, and warned that the GOP should not take Ron Paul's supporters lightly.

Speaking on Fox News before Iowa's final numbers were in, she called Santorum "spot-on" with his policies toward Iran and praised his "social conservative" positions.

Her strongest comments came for Paul, however, saying "the GOP had better not marginalize Ron Paul and his supporters after this" because "a lot of Americans are war-weary and we are broke" and Paul has reached that constituency well. She warned that the GOP "better work with them."

Yes I heard that. He won those interloping voters by 8-1 or something!

Naturally they would like to nominate the one guy who genuinely would have no chance of beating Obama.

I think your right. No matter who the nominee is(I am no fan of Romney at ALL) but if we don’t come together as a party Obama will win..NO ONE here wants Obama to win..and the last thing we want is Paul to win(Which I dont think he will, last night pretty much showed he can’t win a primary without ending up in 3rd place)..If we keep on bashing each other, it doesn’t help the end cause, which is throwing Obama’s Marxist ass out of office. Everyone here has their favs, which is good, but at the end there will only be one nominee, and gotta get behind the person, no matter who they are, to ensure that Obama doesn’t get a 2nd term
The only thing I agree with Ron Paul on is some aspects of his economic ideas..like getting rid of the EPA, but when he talks about foreign policy, especially Israel, I really don’t know where he gets his stuff from. He can be so right on economic issues and SO off base when it comes to Israel

Get a grip.

Paulbots do NOTHING to effect change, even in an incremental way.

They just rant and move on their Merry way, wasting their votes, and whining 'cause nothin' changes.

You reap what you sow....enjoy your Liberties being taken away....since you INSIST on wasting your vote on The Ralien.

Guess I’m missing your point..so help me out. We’ll start from the beginning. Did she say this?

“the GOP had better not marginalize Ron Paul and his supporters after this” because “a lot of Americans are war-weary and we are broke” and Paul has reached that constituency well. She warned that the GOP “better work with them.”

My first thought upon hearing this is she knows the supporters are annoying, disruptive thugs (and potentially dangerous). They freak out at any criticism and attack. She is trying to keep them from screwing with her, IMO.

Iran can’t destroy the US. If anything, they are stronger because of Bush attacking their mortal enemy in 2003. Paul’s a crackpot, but the GOP is doing a grave disservice to the country with this constant warmongering.

Please state WHO it is that is marginalizing Paul and his supporters. These candidates have names. Who is doing it?

Can’t change it until we know who is doing it.

Is anyone on this forum part of the GOP? Is Karl Rove part of the GOP? If all the GOP can do is bad mouth Paul/supporters of Paul..then I guess they are the ones that are trying to “marginalize” him.

You don’t have to shout or be angry..I just love Palin and I think she is trying to give us all some good advice. No one is going to make anyone else “play nice”.

I’m willing to chat with ya. I’m no expert on Ron Paul, his supporters or libertarians..but I can sure see that bringing the different factions of the GOP together in some sane and civil fashion can only help in 2012

“Paul does better then the other GOP candidates vrs Obama according to the polls I have seen.”

Is that from the Paulian Smokin News...becauae I’ver never seen any consistent polling with Paul beating Obama.

I’ve seen plenty of polls showing Romney and Gingrich beating Obama and I’ve seen polling showing the same two beating Obama soundly in 13 key swing states.

Please post your evidence of Paul beating Obama.

Indy read just about any Paul thread here on FR, those of us that are supportig Paul risk getting zotted. Watch/listen to any conservative media. Read just about any conservative media. Even last night when Paul came in a close third all media was dissing Paul. Ignoring his showing and issues that make that possible.

Not really. Some polls show Ron Paul would do quite well against Obama, better than most other GOP candidates. He’ll pull youth and independents away from Obama. He may even pull anti-war voters away.

Please show evidence to support your liberal code pink propaganda.

I am not poll driven, anything can happen, but it is incorrect to say Paul can not beat Obama. My dog could beat Obama if she could speak English. But if you google you will find plenty of polls that say Paul beats Obama. I am sure you can find polls that say Huntsman beats Obama too. Just don’t tell me Paul can not beat Obama, that is simply not true, nobody knows what Nov will bring.

Interesting idea. Do you think Paul is capable of bowing to the President’s agenda and sticking to it as opposed to him following his own?

Or in short, would he be a loose cannon refusing any administration management...

“So we must march in lock-step with Bush etc or we are Code Pink? You don’t know anything about me and you namecall?”

1. Bush’s fault....liberal code pink...our words

2. namecall....really you just accused Republicans of warmongering......is that not a loaded namecall?

As I stated, show us the evidence to prove your absurd liberal propaganda.

“I am not poll driven”

Your words...”“Paul does better then the other GOP candidates vrs Obama according to the polls I have seen.”

I just asked you to show evidence of your assertion.

“but it is incorrect to say Paul can not beat Obama.”

He’s not a serious candidate in any national poll, he has no chance...unless he’s running for Student class president at Texas State Univ. Iowa was his only chance to win any state and Santorum cleaned his clock.

Delusional.

That is not true. FOX has been giving Ron Paul a lot of good attention.

As long as Paul only talks fiscal policy, fine, he is okay. But I don’t want to wear a burka anytime in the near future, so pardon me if I abhorr his total cluelessness on the people who are trying to take over America, kill us, and force Sharia on us.

That is the Islamic goal. They love stupid, clueless infidels.

If that is what you want as your fate, support Paul, but don’t whine when all that liberty you love as I do is ripped away from you because you chose to ignore reality.

As far as I see it, conservatives have met Paul halfway. He could be a great candidate if he wasn’t a total far left goofball on foreign policy.

Plus one on fiscal policy + minus one on foreign policy = zero. The bad cancels out the good.

Too bad, Ron Paul marginalizes his ownself.
