A lot of folks here don’t support Romney.
NO. Newt’s voting record is very conservative and second to none.
If you think Newt is liberal, you know very little bout politics.
Certainly isn't much of a choice, and I fail to see how Newt advancing on Romney in any state is a triumph for conservatives, at least in the long term. I see no viable path to the Presidency for Gingrich, and probably none for Romney, either. If someone can posit such a scenario, I'd like to hear it. I don't understand the glomming on to a high-handed, erratic candidate just for the sake of taking down another.
Each to his or her own, but it's a disastrous situation all the way around, if you ask me.
Karl, what’s left to ‘go negative on Newt’ with?
Not as if he hasn’t taken it from all sides for decades now. Remember “The Gingrich Who Stole Christmas” Newsweek 1994 cover? His affairs and questionable personal background are a secret? I especially love reading on here that a) he’s the ultimate insider; AND b) no insiders like or will support him.
By now Newt has grown a thick hide that he’s gonna need in the coming year. No more “BOO HOO” headlines. In fact, he may soon enough be flying in the very front of AF1. He who laughs last ...
But anything that makes Karl unhappy is just fine by me.
I feel the same about Rick Santorum as I did about Fred Thompson four years ago. I liked Fred’s values, and I liked some of what he did in debates, but he put me to sleep with his speeches. Even if I like a candidate with single-digit support for the office, I don’t want that person as my nominee unless I see the potential to inspire enthusiasm in voters. I don’t see Santorum doing that - yet.
Note: I am not permanently dismissing Rick Santorum. That’s what the pre-election process is for. If Santorum starts to connect with more voters emotionally, then we can talk, and I will enthusiastically jump from leaning Newt to supporting Rick Santorum. I don’t love Newt, but I see him as a viable and effective candidate who would at least be be an adequate president.
Thanks TexasFreeper2009. By Feb 28th, Newt could easily have faded out like Cain and Perry and Bachmann have each in their turn.
so who will be left when it is all over?Bachmann,Perry,Santorum?
