This would be an upset victory but the margin is razor thin and the advantage is still to Romney. Still, it’s encouraging to see Romney will not walk to the nomination.

Guess we’ll see how closed our “Closed Primary” is. My gut says Mitt will win by 30+ points.

Sure ! Newt will loose by a landslide ! We go search for candidates all over the place and ignore tea party candidates like Rick Santorum ! I went to all the tea party gatherings and now I am going to end up voting for Newt who was not a great fan of tea party! God, why are we just throwing this election?

“This isn’t Mitt’s home state but he will win it anyway. Michigan “

it sort of is because of his father

I say Mitt wins by 10%.

Personally I don’t intend to vote for either one of them.

I’ve lived all of my 42 years in Michigan and I’ve followed mitten politics since junior high. Nobody here in Michigan—not even some of our most liberal press—considers Mitt a “Michigan native,” regardless of his family ties. He’s too closely associated with Taxachusetts for us to have—or want—any claim on him.

It is amazing and terrifying to witness how much power the Left has.

Here they have successfully boiled down the Republican candidates to two RINOs, effectively destroying all of the conservatives (Palin, Bachmann, Cain) so that they determine who the next president will be: a Progressive with a (D) after their name or a Progressive with an (R) after their name.

We have GOT to fight back and take control from these tyrants.

Is this the best the GOP can come up with these days?
Newt or Mitt....what a choice.

So the conservatives should have to compromise rather than have a person that reflects their beliefs. It has come to this? Two people who are either beltway wonks or closest liberals. Shame on the GOP...

That was not my point but I disagree with your statement nontheless.

I happen to be from Michigan too and most people over 45 remember George Romney well and hence his son Mitt, both were/are considerered favorite sons.

“So the choices are either:
the corrupt incoherent crony capitalist, the plastic fake corrupt crony capitalist, the whiner in chief, the uber mom, the crazy uncle, the standard issue GOP Establishment Liberal, the Libertine or Newt.

Not really much of a choice. “

Well, Newt’s managed to get the GOP establishment into a panic at the thought of him being the nominee, so he can’t be all bad...

I believe if Ronald Reagan was one of the GOP candidates in this field, there would be MANY people on here ridiculing him and calling him all sorts of names.

I don't like either of them, but this is absolutely true:

“If Newt Gingrich wins Michigan, the contest will be over and he'll win the nomination"
