STATE COLLEGE, Pa (Reuters) - The lawyer for the Penn State football coach charged with child sex abuse said in an interview on Monday the boy at the center of a 2002 incident detailed in the grand jury's report had been identified and said it never happened.

Jerry Sandusky, the former defensive coordinator for the Penn State Nittany Lions, was arrested more than a week ago on charges he sexually abused eight young boys over a 15-year period.

Speaking to sportscaster Bob Costas, Joe Amendola, who represents Sandusky, said "we anticipate we're going to have at least several of those kids come forward and say, 'This never happened.'"

Sandusky, in a telephone interview with Costas that aired at the same time, acknowledged he had horsed around and showered with children involved in the Second Mile charity he founded.

But he denied he was a pedophile.

Two of Matt’s adopted siblings followed their father into the world of football: Edward Joel, 41, a former Nittany Lions player, and now a football coach at West Chester University and Jon, who is Director of Player Personnel for the Cleveland Browns.

On Monday, Jon went on a leave of absence.

Jerry Sandusky's daughter-in-law gets restraining order to keep Penn State 'paedophile' away from grandchildren

How dare she rush to judgement. She acts like she knows the man or something...

they are claiming this is the kid everyone has been wondering about.
McQueary testified he walked in on Jerry raping this boy in 2002.

Since McQueary didn’t call the police, nor anyone else...the boy’s identity remained known only to his abuser.

So now we have a monster out on bail - and he’s the only one who knows who the kids is?

One other victim testified to having received calls from jerry and jerry’s wife directly prior to the investigation.

Witness tampering.

Nobody will have the guts to go after Sandusky now.

Nope, I am someone who believes that people accused by the government of something deserve their due process rights. I am someone who discounts ESPN witch hunts, academic fecklessness, and group thought.

I guess there is some irony in Freepers joining in feckless academics and the leftists at ESPN to demand the state take away someone’s liberty without say actual proof and testimony tested by cross examination. Some of the reason we get so much government is sheep including sheep here are so easy to stampede into more and more and more government with every traumatic crime.

I defend nothing Sandusky did or says. That is up to him to defend himself. I just as I just posted don’t believe in witch hunts and think he has the right to defend himself.

“How exactly do you do that, without starting with a specific, named, known victim?”

Excellent point.

The Lynch Paterno Mob (LPMTM) seems to forget that Mike Nifong also had a Grand Jury in the Duke Lacrosse case. They also seem to forget that the Grand Jury found Paterno's testimony truthful (and the PA AJ described him as a cooperating witness and questioned why he was fired.)

A Grand Jury is an investigative body, not a trier of fact. It isn't compelled to obey the rules of evidence or many Constitutional protections.

We already know that several counts in the indictment will never make it past the preliminary hearing because they aren't admissible in an actual evidentiary proceeding. For example, the 2000 "Janitor Incident" is nothing more than hearsay. Unless the victim comes forward, there is now no competent witness to the crime.

It is highly unlikely that the perjury charges against Schultz and Curley will hold up unless their own testimony is conflicting. Otherwise it's simply McQueary's word against theirs, and all three men have reasons to lie.

We really know nothing more at this point than we knew ten days ago, and that means we know nothing but accusations.

Never mind. This is a necktie party. Don't try to get in their way with any facts; there are plenty of trees and no shortage of rope.

You really lack a deductive reasoning gene. You also lack a common sense gene after what Sandusky admitted to in 1998 and what he said two hours ago on NBC.

I’m starting to think this goes all the way to the PA state house...perhaps even higher.

I know how you feel. I personally believe that this goes all the way up to the Kree Supreme Intelligence.

And remember: commercially available aluminum foil deflector beanies SHOULD NOT UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES BE USED. They have been reconfigured by the Pennsylvania Assembly to actually amplify the dangerous mind-control rays being beamed into your brain by the Penn State Athletic Department.

How does assessing the overwhelming evidence against the man and determining that he’s guilty as sin deny him of due process? None of us could get on a jury if we wanted to.

Has every opinion you’ve ever formed about a person involved in a criminal matter always come after the jury has reached a verdict? You’ve never looked at evidence and arrived at a conclusion on your own?

His 1998 “I wish I was dead” confession to a victim’s mother and overheard by detectives obviously falls on your deaf ears.

Daily Mail: “Over the years the Sanduskys also became the parents to Ray, now 46...”

An article in the Reading Eagle on the eve of Sandusky’s last game, the Alamo Bowl in 1999, quoted a close friend and former pastor of Jerry noting that he knew Ray when he was a 3 yr. old foster child of the Sanduskys. That means that Jerry and Dottie were foster parents in their early 20s, which seems rather odd when most young marrieds are enjoying that season together before children arrive. I think it’s possible their claim that they couldn’t have children was true, but because their marriage was sexless from the beginning.

It is a cabal, in the worst sense of the word.

It's baloney, in the Lebanon sense of the word.

Not one of you has any proof of any of the nonsense that's being posted here. An indictment is not a conviction. Remember Mike Nifong?
