Artist Frank Miller on the Occupy Wall Street Protests: ANARCHY
Frank Miller Ink ^ | 11.7.2011 | Frank Miller

Everybody’s been too damn polite about this nonsense:

The “Occupy” movement, whether displaying itself on Wall Street or in the streets of Oakland (which has, with unspeakable cowardice, embraced it) is anything but an exercise of our blessed First Amendment. “Occupy” is nothing but a pack of louts, thieves, and rapists, an unruly mob, fed by Woodstock-era nostalgia and putrid false righteousness. These clowns can do nothing but harm America.

“Occupy” is nothing short of a clumsy, poorly-expressed attempt at anarchy, to the extent that the “movement” – HAH! Some “movement”, except if the word “bowel” is attached - is anything more than an ugly fashion statement by a bunch of iPhone, iPad wielding spoiled brats who should stop getting in the way of working people and find jobs for themselves.

This is no popular uprising. This is garbage. And goodness knows they’re spewing their garbage – both politically and physically – every which way they can find.

Public unions are a threat, having the power to collectively bargain against the People and their own government—even though they also get to put the people in office they get to bargain with. Cops union, etc gets the city council and mayor they want and then the council picks the police chief the union bosses want—and the union bosses are all commie lawyers—so the cops are controlled at the top by commie laws , along with city governments....

Teachers unions elect their own school boards, who pick the superintendents and principals-—so the public schools are controlled by commie lawyers-—and then the unions pick the state legislators who promise to give them all they want...thus they never collectively bargain against adversaries, but with friends who promise to give them what they want and then-—if by some chance a Republican wins-——they riot.

It’s scary. The unions vote in left-wing politicians and school boards so of course anybody who isn’t left-wing hates the unions and then the union bosses claim they have to defeat the people who hate them and want to break them.......

I find it hilarious that the acronym ‘OWS’ has the letters as OWeniteS - the followers of British industrialist Robert Owen who introduced collectivism to America for the first time. He created the first commune in New Harmony, Indiana in 1826 because he thought collectivism would create better working conditions for those who worked in factories.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Robert_Owen

What kind of people did this commune attract?

From the Wiki:

In 1825, such an experiment was attempted under the direction of his disciple, Abram Combe, at Orbiston near Glasgow; and in the next year Owen himself began another at New Harmony, Indiana, U.S., sold to him by George Rapp. After a trial of about two years both failed completely, due to Owen’s lack of presence to govern either of the communities.[citation needed] Neither of them was a pauper experiment; but it must be said that the members were of the most motley description, many worthy people of the highest aims being mixed with vagrants, adventurers, and crotchety, wrongheaded enthusiasts, or in the words of Owen’s son “a heterogeneous collection of radicals... honest latitudinarians, and lazy theorists, with a sprinkling of unprincipled sharpers thrown in.”

Sound familiar?

It seems collectivism attracts the extremes of society - the super rich and the super poor - the 1% on each end of the Bell Curve with both being lazy bums that are the parasites of society. Today the bums of society get individual welfare and benefits from the public dole and the super can use their corporations to get corporate welfare and bailouts from the public dole.

I still have his Dark Knight Returns graphic novel. Good companion piece to the Killing Joke. Miller knows what he’s talking about. What you heard on the movie 300’ about freedom and slavery, he believed it and is in the 300’ graphic novel..

It’s comforting to know that there is an adult in the audience.

I’ve read that the main reason the Pilgrims were almost wiped out the first winter was because they experimented with some form of collectivism and communal living. This social order fails miserably everytime it’s tried(except at the point of a gun) but too many people don’t get it. Instead it’s easier for them to confuse prosperity with greed.

It would be only fair to note some of these “pampered” super rich corporations got in their position of need because they were earlier twisted in pretzels to do the will of the poor end of the bell curve. If you rob a guy then you might be a little more sympathetic that he needs welfare.

This mistake took a Christian ideal to a point that not even the bible had asked for.

Actually I love this. I hope they continue all the way till November of 2012, let them get worse and worse, then we can put out the ads playing the tape of Obama praising them then say: “This is what Obama envisions for America. Is this what you really want?”

Correct! The Crown set up the Plymouth Colony as an agricultural commune where everyone was paid the same. The harvests were poor when everyone was getting paid equally whether they worked their butts off or not.

William Bradford headed up the colony and decided to allow the land to be owned privately and for people to be paid in relation to the amount of harvest they brought in. This act changed the whole dynamic by allowing private property ownership and free enterprise capitalism (vs. state/Crown-controlled capitalism) that brought about much bigger harvests and eventually inspired us to revolt from the collectivist Brits.

Thanksgiving is our celebration of leaving of abandoning collectivism.

When I see these protesters, I don’t see the 99%, but I do see people who are (or could be, in a few years) in the top 20%. And more than 1% will probably end up as the 1% they seem to despise so much.

Years ago I read The Naked Communist by Cleon Skousen. Don’t know the exact Chapters and Verses, but the Bible warns that however well-intentioned, communal living is doomed to failure.

Very true but keep in mind that the OWS crowd are the children of the super rich Leftist parents who send them to Leftist summer camps for collectivist indoctrination and training do things like protest. And they pay the way of their children to go to school at Leftist-dominated universities to continue that indoctrination.

Not all of the rich are Leftists but keep in mind whether it is OWS, Stalin, Mao, Hitler and other collectivist movements through the 19th and 20th have been financed by the super rich.

Robert Owen was a rich, British industrialist who brought collectivism to America. But it’s nice to know that after a couple of years most Americans realized what the agenda was and didn’t want anything to do with it. Kinda similar to William Bradford taking three years to figure out it didn’t work either.

Which is why Paul admonished the churches not to feed anybody in the church who was able to work but refused. As I heard it explained once, apparently thought themselves so super spiritual that their job was just to sit on their duffs on a mountainside and wait for Christ to return. Christ himself would beg to differ on his return, and he would be glad to see his servant busy at work.

Actually, I’ve also been told that the pilgrim socialism stemmed from a pact that was made by the pilgrims on the other side of the pond. The whole enterprise was bankrolled by wealthy companies seeking a profit, and understandably if unwisely, they didn’t want private property ownership among the people whose colony they financed. They must have feared this would eat into their profits. However it proved a demotivator, and it in fact got modified the next year to allow private plots of land.

No, it fails then too, resulting in millions of deaths. Remember Stalin, Mao, Pol Pot?
