For those that say Perry did not show up get the facts. This was a "debate" with just Newt and Cain.

They oviously are as bad at discerning as perry is debating.

My husband just basically said the same thing....that he’s warming up to Newt.

Newt has been knowlegable, articulate, focused, on-point and he isn’t afraid to take swipes at Obama. Cain didn’t openly criticize Obama once, which is just an observation FWIW.

Cain did well but frankly I think Gingrich did better. Which isn’t to say that Cain is out of the race or anything. They mentioned early in the show that Hannity asked to have them on in a similar venue and that they’d both agreed.

This was worth watching, I’m glad I did.

perry’s abilities do not include debating.

....or speaking the King's English.

Yep, Texans didn’t learn a thing from the debate that we’re not already doing.

I hope all future debates are like this..this is how debates should be held. Let all of the GOP candidates speak in a setting like this, discuss their ideas, and we can decide who we want to vote for. It was great seeing TWO class acts speak tonight, no bickering, no calling each other names, just two men having an honest discussion

Newt’s ideas about unemployment & training pgms has some pretty big holes in it. In many instances it’s not a matter of not having skills, it’s a matter of no jobs. Even people with up-to-date technical knowledge are having trouble finding jobs.

I don’t like Newt’s training idea either.

It seems like slavery. What about an option? Some people want to
continue doing what they are doing, not do training for training sake.
Then all the trainers, because of the demand from govt. are going to
do sham training, like Georgia or green jobs training.

Newt shines in this kind of setting. He has a clear, ordered and focused mind, and the ability to lead debate and develop consensus.
Herman Cain is a bright, likeable man, with a great story, and good ideas, but if this debate is an example, does not have the leadership abilities and command of the issues needed to be POTUS.
Of all the candidates, the only one I see who could demolish Mitt in a debate, and wipe the floor with Obama, is Newt.
I really like Cain. I just wish he were a better debater, with a better command of the issues, especially foreign policy issues.

That last question answered by Cain solidified in my mind his winning of this debate, but just by a little bit, it was hilarious. Newt could only laugh, it was fantastic, and then to have has his rejoinder... What would you do as Vice President...?

This tells ya right here that Cain’s the man. I’m telling you, it was close but Herman put it away at the end.

The part where Cain was thinking over the answer then giving it to Newt will be repeated and will be the snippet taken from debate by the media.
