The Candidates:
Michele Bachmann
Bachmann is serving her 3rd full term in the U.S. House. Founder of the House Tea Party Caucus, worked as a tax attorney, and was a foster mother for 23 teenagers. She is a member of the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence.
Herman Cain
Cain is the former chief executive of Godfather's Pizza and former chairman of the Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas City. He lost the Georgia Republican primary for a U.S. Senate seat in 2004. He was recently the host of Atlanta-based radio show.
Newt Gingrich
Gingrich served as Speaker of the United States House of Representatives from 1995 to 1999. He represented Georgia's 6th congressional district as a Republican member from 1979 to 1999. He has a PhD in modern European history.
Ron Paul
Paul is serving his 11th full term in the U.S. House. He’s an ob-gyn and was Libertarian nominee for president in 1988. He unsuccessfully sought the Republican nomination for president in 2008
Rick Perry
Perry is the three term governor of Texas, from 2000 to current. He is a retired Air Force captain for former farmer. He has a degree in animal science.
Mitt Romney
Romney was governor of Massachusetts (2003 to 2007) and former CEO of Bain Capital, a private equity investment firm. He unsuccessfully sought the Republican 2008 nomination for president. He has an MBA (Harvard) and JD (Harvard Law).
Rick Santorum
Santorum served two terms in the U.S. House and two terms in the U.S. Senate. He became the Senate's third-ranking Republican in 2001. He was defeated for reelection in 2006.

For me: Cain won then Bachmann did well at various times followed by Newt then ...everyone else. I think Santorum was good twice. Then he got Whiny.
So, Perry attacks Romney and some of you think he’s being too aggressive.
Cain praises Romney and some of you think it’s ... sweet, or what?
I really like Cain, but comments like that keep me from being totally convinced that he is in this to win it.

He’s the smartest and the best at expressing himself in these debates, by far. He’s also a back stabbing sneaky pete who believes in “the third way” which has nothing to do with loyality to this Republic or our interests and individual rights. He’s a citizen of the world. (Same with Mitt.)
There is a reason Newt jumped on Algore’s global warming bandwagon. He likes the establishment of a world government taxation on energy consumption and global regulation of energy use. Newt is wiley.
I like that Perry would look at unhooking us from the UN. I like that Ron Paul talked about cutting back the scope of work for the Federal government.
Romney sounded like Nixon when it came to cutting spending. He does not recognize we are being crushed by the power the Feds have over every aspect of our lives.
Sorry, Cain is making it up as he goes along. He’s going to get plowed but I think he is a nice person and means well (that is saying a lot for a politican). Perry looks like he has one leg in the grave but I like the guy. He’s distracted. Mittens is dead to me.
I doubt Newt can win. So its more likely that it would be Cain/Newt. though maybe Cain wouldn’t pick Newt. Cain needs an insider for VP. From those on the stage I think Newt is the best one. jmo Well, I like Santorum, too.
Uh oh. Cain getting interviewed and having to defend the 9-9-9 plan yet once again. Now Cain being asked to defend his statement on negotiating with terrorists. Cain says his mispoke and backtracking. At least he is honest about it. But not good for Cain. I’d prefer to have Herman on the offense but instead he is mired defending previous statements. Oh well.
He might try but Perry is straight and Obama would get his Nancy boy butt whooped.
Gergan totally ignores the fact the all the questions and the entire format of the debate was structured to elicit bickering. Gergan is a dick.
It’s just obvious, folks. I wish he were perfect, and still wed to his first wife, and never made a political call that conservatives widely rejected...but right now he’s the best candidate.
Well, unfortunately, he is on his third wife, and he cheated on the first two, and his cheater companion is the one he is currently married to. Kind of hard to overcome that, wouldn’t you say, all you social conservatives?

Applying the “sales tax” to labor expenses makes it effectively the same as a vat tax. Just the name is different.

Newt’s problem, aside from his personal issues, is that he falls in line with whatever the media’s Meme-of-the-moment is, be it Global Warming, healthcare mandates, etc...
He talks a good game, but plays the go-along-to-get-along game in DC.
He’s in it to win it if he can, but he’s protecting his Plan B which is ... if he needs money and organization he will be Romney’s veep.
At least Perry didn’t suck up to Romney.
