Rick Perry Support Weakening

Support for presidential hopeful Rick Perry is weakening with the Texas governor now in third place, a poll of conservative voters in Iowa indicates.

The poll, released Thursday by the American Research Group, had Perry in third with 14 percent of the vote, behind former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney at 21 percent and U.S. Rep. Michele Bachmann, R-Minn., at 15 percent, UPI.com reported.

"When Perry came in, a lot of people were leaning [toward] Perry or at least looking at him very hard," Bob Vander Plaats, the head of Family Leader, socially conservative umbrella organization, told The Hill, a Washington publication.

"The first three issues he addressed were HPV, the DREAM Act and the border fence," said former Iowa Republican Party Political Director Craig Robinson. "That shows how damaging these debates have been to Perry. He's explaining and he hasn't done a very good job of it."

What’s the name of his ranch?

my wife and i thought we’d found our candidate

Same here.

After stumbling performances in the first two debates and his appalling "heartless" answer in the third, my wife and I simultaneously turned to each other and said, "He's toast!".

We thought at first Perry was the seasoned, tough conservative governor who could knock Romney and Obama off and have enough vision and drive to dismantle the Liberal juggernaut and steer America back onto course again. He has become a huge disappointment.

We are sorry about how this is turning out. We had such high hopes for him but if he is wrong on illegal immigration, he won't fix those problems - and they are among our worst. He has done a lot of good work on the Texas border with what he has, but now he is hugely suspect in our minds concerning his overall end game.

He has nearly blown his chances with conservatives who had such high hopes for him. If he doesn't right his ship, pronto, he will go down with it for sure. Sad.

I just Binged it, but I don’t believe what I saw. This has got to be some kind of viral joke. Nobody names their ranch that. Nobody.

Hey, don’t let the facts get in the way of the yellow journalism and WaPo smear machine.

Look at my previous post up thread for more information.

Perry doesn’t have a ranch and never did.

“You know, you do yourself a disservice when you spread the lies”

Lies according to who?

You posted a press release from the Perry camp but this article tells a different story:

Exactly what I feel! Conservatives are getting FAR TOO picky for their own good...we might lose an easily winnable election because of that.

I figure if the guy agrees with me 90% of the time, I’ll support him.

The only thing that happened since then is that Perry is on the defensive (again) about the name of his ranch.

It wasn't "his ranch". I'll be charitable and assume you simply don't understand what a hunting lease is, and aren't deliberately lying.

This is a smear job plain and simple. The article is rehashing what the WaPo said. The person it’s going to backfire on is Cain because he played the race card.

Should I say, I will not vote for an IRS lawyer, Or Maybe I’ll stay home that day, rather than vote for an IRS lawyer?Or maybe “I’d as soon Zero get back in as vote for an IRS lawyer.”
I’d probably at least leave the house that day to vote for her if it came to her or Zero, but maybe I could wreck the car or something before I made it to the polls.....
I’d take any other of the candidates over Bachmann, except Romney.

Nobody disputes that it was a hunting lease. Perry didn’t own the ranch,

“The person it’s going to backfire on is Cain because he played the race card.”

And the Perry supporters are playing the victim card.

I hate to burst your bubble but if it turns out that Perry has been going there for over 20 years and the name was only changed in 2008, he is finished.

I don’t find this particularly offensive but I remember George Allen.

Perhaps another RINO, Christie, will replace Perry after all.
