The presentation seems to be a reasonable description of the mindset of the sort of Muslim who would have useful information we might want to extract. I'm not sure about some of the reading recommendations - I suppose I'd prefer FBI interrogators to read something a bit more scholarly than "The Politically Incorrect Guide to Islam".

The stuff about "the Arab Mind" may be somewhat unrefined and speculative but obviously has a grain of truth to it, and running with those ideas might therefore be fruitful for an interrogator - "It is the characteristic of the arab mind to be swayed more by words than ideas and more than ideas than by facts" is a bit of a simplistic and sweeping claim, but an interrogator shouldn't have to wait for a theory to be proven to scientific standards before making use of it as a questioning tactic.

FBI training has an annoying habit of over-valuing academic "experts" and undervaluing simple common sense.

I have seen this in sessions with special agents on subjects like profiling and serial killers.

I see it here too-- they ought to train agents to just keep their eyes open and be receptive to what is going on.

The FBI Academy is impressive, but agents who don't have the experience should do a year internship as a simple beat cop or patrol cop--get that blue intuition that could keep them alive. They'd be further ahead and we'd all be safer.
