Hmmmm...we are having unseasonably hot weather here in Oregon....wondering if those flares would affect OUR weather...normal is about 79....been 90+

I live in the far NE part of the Phx metro area (not too far from Sarah Palin’s new house...that's so neat!), and about 4 years ago we had a massive black out. IN AUGUST. Pretty much 1/3 of the area had no power for 2 days. We tried wearing underwear and sitting on the leather couches for a few hours, then hightailed it to a local resort that wasn't affected. I couldn't take that heat for even a few hours...impossible to get to sleep.
I wonder if this is going to be happening more and more. Wouldn't surprise me...the way everything else is going into the ditch in our once wonderful country....why not this on a regular basis? It's starting to remind me of the old Soviet Union circa 1960. When President Zero was snarling about having to build “high speed rail” it really hit me. This guy is a Marxist/Leninist through and through. It is his religion. I really fear for our country.
Hope everybody in SD gets relief soon.
Im in West Los Angeles and we have power here so its not affecting us in LA County
Sorry but solar flares, GMD, have more impact the closer to the north pole.
No history of power system effected that far south.
Please tell Obama there will be no need to repeat his speech for those of us without power.
