Sarah Palin tour comes to abrupt halt
Politico ^ | 08/15/2011 | Molly Ball

After just four days on the road, Sarah Palin’s bus tour is going dormant again.

In a note posted on her Facebook page Monday, Palin says she’s headed “back to Alaska for the start of the school year.”

What’s next for the former Alaska governor and 2008 vice presidential nominee? “While kids crack open their school books, I look forward to continuing my own writing and research on strategies and plans to help move our country forward,” she wrote.

Palin noted that she’ll be back on the road before long – she’s scheduled to keynote a Sept. 3 tea party rally in Waukee, Iowa, near Des Moines.

Her Facebook note didn’t mention it, but she’s also scheduled to headline an Oct. 7 rally with Glenn Beck in St. Charles, Mo., according to a local conservative talk-radio station’s announcement Monday.

The leg of Palin’s “One Nation” bus tour that’s now ending lasted four days, beginning midday Friday, when Palin appeared at the Iowa State Fair—just in time for her to catch the attention of the assembled national political media mob in town for the Ames Straw Poll.

On Saturday, she visited Ronald Reagan’s childhood home in Dixon, Ill., and his nearby alma mater of Eureka College. She was in Eureka when the straw poll results were released, and NBC News asked her what she thought of the results.

“The prediction was that it would either be Ron Paul or Michele Bachmann, because they spent a lot of time and energy to make sure they had delegates there who would cast those votes — so not really a surprise,” Palin told NBC, the only major news outlet following her in Illinois.

50 posts and not a single person noticed that this bus tour only seems to surface just before a major announcement from another candidate and disappears just after. .... perfect_rovian_storm

Very interesting comment. What in the world would be the motivation to do that? Narcissism? Trying to keep relevant? .... magritte

I explained and predicted that behavior on a post last Saturday.

"What in the world would be the motivation to do that?"

Money, magritte, money.

The game is fully explained in my previous post. (Below)

I can’t speak for anyone else, but her reluctance to crap or get off the pot is moving into genuine annoyance territory as far as I am concerned. .... FReeper Number 1.

Yeah, she has to make sure she doesn't become "Fred Thompson 2012". The longer she waits, the harder it will be to line up a team and ground workers, as they'll already have committed to other campaigns. .... FReeper Number 2.

It doesn't make any sense if you are seriously thinking of winning the Presidency, does it?

Yet, her behavior makes perfect sense.

Palin's decision about the run was made a while back, things are going exactly as Sarah Palin intended them to go and her objectives are being accomplished.

Bristol Palin spilled the beans last June 28 when she said on Fox and Friends, "You know, she definitely knows. We've talked about it before. Some things just need to stay in the family."

"Some things just need to stay in the family"?

After Bristol's "tell-all" book (which will be highly embarrassing to her son 13 years from now when he reads a copy), what could possibly need to "stay in the family"?

The fact that Palin is playing her supporters like a cheap fiddle, that's what.

Sarah Palin ceased to be a serious politician long ago and is now a media celebrity. It is a very lucrative gig.

April 15, 2010: Sarah Palin income 12 million dollars since leaving office

Palin's current profession is that of a very well paid entertainment celebrity whose main focus is maximizing her personal income and Bristol's income in the business of Reality TV shows, book sales, paid speeches, paid appearances and paid interviews.

The primary goal that Palin has is to maximize the profitability of her Sarah Palin™ Brand.

Why did Donald Trump pretend to be running for President, why is Newt Gingrich still pretending to run for President and why does Sarah Palin keep teasing and teasing and teasing about running for President?

Because it "enhances the Brand" and that translates into more money.

After praising Palin, Coulter goes on to say that she does not think that Palin will run for president. Hannity counters by saying that Coulter is "unnecessarily narrowing the field" and that Palin has publicly said she is still considering a run. It is at this point that Coulter reveals, "I think she's saying that because she also said Newt Gingrich told her you can get higher speaking fees if you pretend you are running for President."

Palin and FOX NEWS also has a very lucrative game going on:

Due to the "Equal Time" provision of Section 315 of the Communication Act, TV networks cancel the contracts of employees that are serious Presidential candidates. Yet, Palin and FOX News continue a very cozy relationship that is very lucrative for both of them:

1.) Sarah Palin spends a week here and a week there pretending to, maybe, run for President. Such a fake "teaser" campaign does not trigger Section 315.

2.) FOX News hypes each of her fake "teaser" campaigns.

3.) At the end of each fake campaign, Palin's loyal supporters and the curious Palin non-supporters then drive the FOX ratings as Palin appears in an "exclusive FOX interview of Sarah Palin" where one FOX employee (Palin) is being paid to be interviewed by another FOX employee that is paid to toss Palin cream puff questions.

4.) Palin cashes her paychecks and FOX News gets their ratings bonanza.

5.) Rinse and repeat, again and again and again for as long as the game keeps generating money for Fox and Palin.

The longer Sarah Palin keeps playing the teasing game, the more money the Sarah Palin™ Brand brings in. Therefore, Sarah Palin will play the teasing game as long as she can possibly get away with it.

If that is "stringing people around", ...... Well, too bad, so sad, ....... That is what needs to happen to keep the money rolling in.

Palin may even be able to keep playing the game until the first primaries because, since she is not hiring any professionalstaff, a fake "campaign" (where she actually declares but spends no money on staff to actually win) will not put her into debt like the campaigns of Hillary and Gingrich put them in personal debt. Newt Gingrich has been playing that game since his staff quit.

Whatever she does, I predict that the end result will be a maximization of the Sarah Palin™ Brand income.

As far as actually winning the general election in November of 2012?

Well, let's just say that there are none so blind as those that absolute refuse to see.

I’ve read more than enough of your asinine analysis without you pinging me to more of the same wishful and repetitive claptrap.

“No, the reason why Perry is the ONLY Republican I would think of not voting for in NOVEMBER, is not simply the fact that he’s a Karl Rove Candidate. (Once a Karl Rove Candidate, always a Karl Rove Candidate).”

See, I can’t get past that statement right there, cause it displays simple-mindedness. Does Rove have some kind of spell on people that they can never break free of? He’s clearly not on the same side as Rove for about the past decade, so this statement on its face seems ridiculous. So using this Rove connection from a couple decades ago to help advance your case against Perry puts a serious crack in your credibility.

As to all the other “globalism” stuff, I’ll have to research it further, but truth be told I doubt that anyone in the race except Bachmann and Palin (if she gets in) would resist globalism. It seems to me Romney would be more than happy to go along with it too. I just don’t see Perry as so bad that we just CAN’T support him no matter what, but yet we could support Romney? Sorry, doesn’t make sense to me.

Send me some links to some credible stories that show Perry as a globalist and I’ll be glad to take a look at them.

So,you are pushing class warfare HERE of all places? Call yourself conservative but can’t stand it that Sarah Palin is successful? And as is so clearly written in the announcement, the book signing rules are from the MALL OF AMERICA MANAGEMENT the ones RUNNING THE BOOK SIGNING!!! Provide proof that Sarah was responsible for the book signing rules or apologize for your despicable mean-spirited disingenuous mendacity.

He and wtc911 have a major problem with her success. They post “Trademark” and similar comments, make sarcastic, spiteful comments about Bristol and other family members and just cannot act like adults.

You pretty much gotta get down in the mud with them since as demonstrated repeatedly in their posts, they lack the personal integrity to debate openly and honestly. You just have a look at their posting history, which I recommend any who try honestly engaging their type do first. Both are demonstrated Palin hating trolls that belittle the success of a fellow American.

Not what I thought being a ‘conservative’ was about on a site the boss calls “Palin Country” and whose members gave an 87% vote for SP, but what can ya do...

But clearly JR dislikes those who like Mitt Romney more than he dislikes those who hate Sarah Palin—if one were to review the posts of those he has zotted over the past several months—a few were FR old timers too.

Too bad, because if anyone is zot bait it's those few PDS spamming hate mongers we are talking about.

I agree with you- just tired of being “teased”. This country is burning to the ground and we have to sit, wait with baited breath to see if “Sarah” is going to run or not..I do like Sarah but this is getting old. And in all fairness to Bachman, is it right that Sarah “steals” the show for the day and then packs up and heads back to Alaska?

A number of them have been zotted in the last few days. 3 or 4 that I am aware of. The trolls are indeed getting the zot, and it looks like more electricity is on the way at that rate.

Have faith fellow Jedi, the force is strong in JR and the Kitties ;)

Yes indeed. Just like the rest of the PerryWinkles around here. Perry seems to have attracted the most trollish ones we had laying around.

Governor Palin explicitly promised the hosts of Alaska’s “Bob and Mark” radio show that they’d be the first to know should she announce her decision to run for the presidency...but I’m curious about the timing of the of the upcoming events.

Although I am not sure whether Gov. Palin will launch her campaign from the Iowa Labor Day event, I DO believe the Glenn Beck rally will *follow* —meaning, come shortly after she makes the big announcement, so her speech will therefore garner major media attention as one of her first major appearances as an official presidential candidate..

But then Beck might prohibit such a “politicization” of the event so I don’t know.

hmm...

All of this sniping and in-fighting going on here at FR is indicative of the general Republican/Tea Party attitude out there and which is exactly why Obama will win re-election.

The president is a deceptive and skillful liar who will play the masses like a fiddle, once again. He will have the Obama-zombies convinced the Repubs will take away their benefits and destroy their way of life if they don’t vote for him.

I thought she lives in Arizona now. Somewhere in the Phoenix area.

Lot of stories and pictures of the big house she bought there.
