Former Alaska governor Sarah Palin has welcomed her second grandchild, Radar Online reported Monday.

Palin's son, Track, and his new wife Britta (nee Hanson) became parents over the weekend to a baby girl, name Kyla Grace.

Track, 22, married his 21-year-old high-school sweetheart in May in a small ceremony in Hatcher Pass, Alaska.

"I hope they go the distance, for the child’s sake!"

This couple has been in love and together since high school..longer than a lot of people who have been married & divorced during that period of time.

The Lord has blessed them with a daughter & I, for one am very happy for them.

Maybe the last personal event to occur before announcing?

"I hope Meghan McCain gets knocked up so we can compare reactions!! LOL!"

I'm sure it will be mostly crickets, much like does a falling tree in the forst make a noise if nobody is there to hear it?

Only if you let it ~ these two are putting aside their personal interests to join together to raise a family. Praise God!

Another Palin couldn’t exercise self-control until marriage. What is wrong with that family?

Funny, I didn't either. My family was pretty normal.

The child was not born a bastard. At least they didn't abort her.

Back when I was in college (a LONG time ago), it was called the Head Start program.

That has a whole different meaning post Clinton. Aarrrggghhh.

Maybe in pagan cultures, but what single instance of premarital fertility-testing is there in the Bible?

Didn't need them we had concubines :)

I suspect the fertility thing was mostly about the Royals.

Despite the oft repeated myth, the white dress came about because Queen Victoria wore it at her wedding; enough people decided to copy the color, and the myth that it was connected to purity was spread. (The color blue is the traditional color of purity. )

Despite the oft repeated myth, the white dress came about because Queen Victoria wore it at her wedding; enough people decided to copy the fashion that white wedding dresses have been the most common in the West ever since.

The myth that it was connected to purity was spread, partly by the wedding industry, and partly by people who wanted a justification for following the tradition that didn’t involve “well, I’m following a fashion trend.”

Traditionally, the color blue is the traditional color of purity; that is why the old wedding rhyme includes “something blue”, and not “something white”.

FWIW I heard she is not running some GOP committe thing that all who are even thinking about running have done and Palin has not. So if she runs it will be third party rogue IMO.
I look for the grand baby to be another excuse to the long list of reasons given by her worship squad that she is not announcing yet.

I believe Patti Davis was born in October 1952. Reagan had married in March of '52.

It could be said however Reagan was severely punished with the two spawn from Nancy. :)

Divorce was permitted in the Old Testament, but it was not approved by God.

Some of the patriarchs practiced polygamy in the Old Testament, but the practice died out while monogamy remained.

As for Adam and Eve, the first man and woman were declared to be husband and wife by God.

You have not named a single culture that practiced this “fertility testing” before their community considered them to be married.

once a child reaches adulthood, the mistakes of the adult belong to that adult.

So, "some of the Patriarchs"? That'd be Abraham, Isaac and Jacob right off the bat. Then there's Moses! By the time we get to David and Solomon it was kind of expected!

Now, about fertility ~ did you see the trouble Abraham got into when he didn't "test first"? Yup. God had to provide him some direction to get an early heir!

That one event can be taken as a COMMANDMENT if you want. I am just guessing you don't want ~ but there it is.

Not to worry, I've met snakehandlers in my time ~ and they've told me that unless I take up the serpents I'm going to go to Hell, and you can't hardly beat that.

Still, the marriage to pregnant brides is hardly a myth ~ it's been going on among the peasantry for thousands of years.

Listen, dingelheimer, I didn’t say or infer anything from a religious perspective. I belong to no organized religion, and I’m not a Christian. I simply pointed out that sex before marriage is not a good idea. You know perfectly well what social pathologies it produces, as does everyone else here who is willing to surrender his philsophies and values to providing a pass for the Palins.

I'd start with a personal insult too, if I had to try to shovel the sh!t you're working at.

You're not a Christian? And not only that, you belong to no organized religion?

But you declare, without any limitation, that sex before marriage should never take place?

What, exactly, is "marriage," dingelheimer? Is it some promise muttered before a government clerk, according to laws that allow another muttering to dissolve it? THAT is what every human being should be required to do before making love with someone they love?

Or is it a spiritual promise, dingelheimer? But without being a Christian or a member of an organized religion, what is the nature of the spiritual promise that should make up this "marriage" that should be the absolute WALL between two people EVER making love, according to you?

This hardly seems like a trivial question. After all, seven billion people are waiting for an explaination of exactly what they need to do before they can make love, and you alone know the answer - it is "marriage" - but NOT associated with any particular religion, especially Christianity, of which you belong to NONE.

So what is this "marriage" YOU ALONE can define, that stands in the way of LOVE ITSELF, dingelheimer?

An ENTIRE PLANET wants to know.

Not that it is any of your business...but the answer to your question is NO.

Seeing as I am a Christian and the Scriptures are clear that sex outside of marriage is either fornication or adultery...both are classified by the same Scriptures as sin...I am of the mind to not commit sin.

This was not a “bash the Palin Family” issue...and yes “we have serious problems in the Nation”...and one of them is the ready acceptance of moral decline.
