Oh they’ll blow it all right, but I really think that they don’t want to be in the majority, It’s a lot easier to be an inside the beltway loser than have any responsibility for anything, and they’ll still get invited to some of the best cocktail parties.

Indiana’s state treasurer, Richard Mourdock, currently has a 2 PT edge over Lugar in the repub primary race. Mourdock is a solid conservative.

That sounds excellent. I spent some time in Indiana during my undergraduate days at Purdue. It would be great if Lugar was replaced with a conservative in the primary.

Let’s hope it makes a difference this time. No more rain forest parks, or whatever it was, for Iowa.

Why as a Conservative should I care if they retake the Senate knowing full well that if the Republicans do retake the Senate that the RINO in McCain and Gramham will simply undermine any Conservative bills coming out of the House.

A much, much better estimate (and much harder to ever come by)would be the likelihood that CONSERVATIVES would control the Senate or the House. Now, that number would mean something.

The Palin-bashing anti-conservative 'org.whodat' definately has the characteristics of a Democrat troll. He even uses
fuzzy math to promote the Democrats.

No matter how many Republicans comprise a “majority” in any future Senate, the Democrats will still get their way. Taxby Chambliss and his RINO buddies will stab Conservatives in the back.
To: CharlyFord
. For conservatives to gain control of the Senate, there would have to be a gain of over 16 seats. Thats not likely to happen. For the foreseeable future, its going to be a cat fight. If there were an opportunity for that to happen, 2012 would be the most likely year in the next 30 years. DemocRATS hold 23 of the seats up next year, and lots of those seats are held by freshmen who got elected in 2006 when the Republicans got wiped out. The first time a senator runs for reelection is when he is most vulnerable to being knocked off, so it could be a 1980 or 1994 kind of election year for the senate.

If this nation reelects the idiot in charge then this nation deserves to go down the drain. Simple as that. If citizens are this stinking stupid, then we deserve it.Put me down in the pessimistic column. I think the people are almost totally stupid about politics and have no understanding of economics.
Consequently, they will indeed get the government and the economy they deserve.
It's a shame that we will get the same. Some of us, though, are advanced in years and will not have to suffer the decline of America for very long. We have had some good years to think about.

I went to high school in South Bend, and my sister and brother-in-law live in Indy. Although we grew up in SW Michigan, we’re all “part Hooser.” They are very much supporting the challenger. There’s a general feeling that although Lugar is a nice man, he’s just been in DC too long.
Also note that Mourdock is treasury sec for MITCH DANIELS, so his fiscal policy is hawkish on deficits. I was leery of Daniels as a presidential candidate, but never doubted his fiscal conservatism for moment. How helpful it would be to have Daniel’s treasury sec in the Senate during the current debt-limit debate! A future Sen Mourlock would be a certain vote against raising the limit and for cutting spending.

If that were to happen I would vote for harry and nancy’s new offices we located in tents in the back of the white house next to the garbage dump.
