In 2012, 23 Dems are up for re-election, but only 10 Reps.

In 2014, 20 Dems are up for re-election, but only 13 Reps.

I believe a pick up of 12 is with in the relm of possibility in 2012. (Conrad)ND, McCaskill MO, Nelson NE,(Webb) VA, Manchin WV are all quite probable. A concerted effort should be made in Ohio, Florida, New Mexico and Wisconsin because they are presidential swing states.
It would be most beneficial to drain dem resources if MI, PA, HI, MN and NY were brought into play.

Mourdock... Yes!!! Trading a RINO for a conservative is like picking up a half a seat.

Oops forgot Tester MT in the probable pick up.

I believe Mourdock for Lugar and perhaps a change in Maine are our only Trophy RINO’s we should be hunting.

You're right, the correct debate needs to be ONLY about "conservatives" vs. everyone else.

I've said for some time that we will not---AND CANNOT---get meaningful change until we get a 2/3s majority in both houses AND the presidency. Even if the Pres is a Republican, as Bush (whom I still admire) showed, you can't trust a single guy who can be "Alinskied" to stand strong on budget hikes. So, honestly, I think you need about 68 or so votes in the Senate and about 70% of the House to be conservatives (to override a weak-kneed president).

Essentially, this was what the Dems had with Pelosi/Reid/Obama. They could pass ANYTHING, and still had trouble, barely getting Obamacare through, NOT getting immigration through, and not getting card check or "fairness" through.

That tells you a little about how difficult it is to achieve such super, super-majorities that you need for revolutionary change.

You know, this gets old. I don't like the debt "deal" one iota, but when I hear people I DO respect, such as Paul Ryan, Col. Allen West, and others come out and insist it was the best they could get, then I have to take their word over yours . . . since, as best I can tell, neither of you have ever run for office, let alone won.

And Org.whodat's only purpose in life as a DEM TROLL is to trash Republicans. So, I tell him/her, bug off. We do have serious discussions here on FR and you, apparently, are not part of any of them.

LOL, Jim said the deal sucked as well, so go call him a troll and ask him to leave. I doubt you would be here a minute after that.

And I imagine Rushs statement that he felt we had been lied to at every turn just blew the top of your head off.

I imagine your lack of honesty-—that you are a DEM over here just trying to stir up trouble-—would not surprise anyone. I’ve watched your piddly little whiny comments. You haven’t cited ONE candidate you support, ONE strategy you endorse. So I think RAT fits you well.

You are sick, I have post who I support for president next year many times, but this thread is not about who is running for president, now get back to stirring the grape and making those Willard posters.
