I pinged you to post #2435 above, but might have spelled your name wrong. Details there.

Thanks for the notes...don’t you find that confusing or is it just me? She was a good mother but really it was the parents doing all the loving and caring while she sat on her a** and then went out and partied but the reason she had to do that was to get out of that hellhole of dysfunction. And yet he can’t believe that Casey skated?

Common sense needs to be used in a circumstantial case.

Too many innocent people have been sent to prison for the "common sense" circumstantial standard you set.

cleared by dna evidence

As I mentioned in an earlier post, the prosecution should have charged her with crimes they could prove.

Just heard the comments of the clueless alternate juror yet again on television.

I'd like to know why we place morons on juries who ask "The prosecution couldn't answer the big question, how did Caylee die?" without even comprehending that, as a result of the Defendant's well-documented lies and delays, all the available DNA, as well as the corpse itself, deteriorated. I'd also like to know what sort of morons don't know the difference between "reasonable doubt" and ANY doubt. Maybe little green men snatched up Caylee. Maybe the shoe elves put her in that field. But is that doubt REASONABLE?

I am sickened.

Throughout history has there ever been a murder of a 2 year old that was premeditated?

Oh yes, there've been several cases of women who reproduced, murdered their children (but of course it was always an accident), and collected the insurance on the child. One case that came out in the mid-80's, the woman had killed half a dozen kids in several states, with insurance from different companies each time.

Actually, it used to be fun arguing with “Logical Fallacy” and watching him tie himself into knots.

He was most famous for defending Obama’s eligibility.

He would actually contend and not simply throw around insults like most of his ilk. But he apparently wore out his welcome eventually.

it really is disheartening to realize these 12 couldn’t comprehend what constitutes beyond reasonable doubt, and that it doesn’t mean NO conceivable doubt of any kind and absolute certainty as to what occurred.
these 12 found the case not proven. that doesn’t mean 12 diff jurors, perhaps not as anti-authoritarian, might not have found differently. we may have to accept the jury verdict, but that doesn’t require us to believe it was the right one.

I saw that young man...apparently Casey initially said he was the father and they were engaged........then something happened to convince him he is not the father.....and they were no longer engaged. He knows first hand all about Casey and her lies. Nearly ruined his life. There were pics of him with Caylee as an infant. Seems she used that baby to get herself an engagement ring and someone had the sense to do a DNA and he got free. Further proof of a dysfunctional young mother. Casey must have determined she had milked Caylee for all she could get out of her and was ready to move on unhindered. Giving Caylee to Mom Cindy would have been a loss, so just throw her out like yesterday’s trash.

What people don't understand is that all the talk of Casey being "an amazing mother" came from her young, childless peer group. Caylee was pretty much passed around like a pet, from what I read, whenever Casey brought Casey out with her visiting. Of course she was dressed up, clean and pretty. She was coming from the Anthonys' home. Does anyone really think Cindy would have allowed otherwise, God forbid for her to be smacked around in any way? Besides, how else was Casey going to act around Caylee in public. Please.

Yes, it's very easy to bounce a baby around on your knee in a video. But that does not make "amazing mother." We all know putting the child's welfare first, giving them time and attention, and protecting them at all costs makes a mother like that.

Casey failed miserably and that baby paid the price.

There is no reasonable explanation for the mother’s behavior once her daughter “went missing”. The mother began telling people a lie ... then more lies ... then more. She made up a story about a nanny who was watching her daughter. She said the nanny took the daughter out of town. She said the nanny had a car wreck and was in the hospital so her daughter had to stay out of town.

When the mother’s family began asking where the daughter was, she denied her daughter was missing.

To pretend this lady did not cause her daughter’s death is shameful.

If your child walked from the kitchen into the living room with cookie crumbs on his mouth and all over his hands and you then noticed the lid was off the cookie jar and several cookies were missing, I’m assuming you couldn’t chastise your child because there was only circumstantial evidence he ate the cookies.

Let us all mourn the death of common sense.

If I had I been on that jury they would still be sitting there while I was the lone guilty verdict...hung jury. I cannot believe ONE person couldn’t stand for Caylee. Not a one.

Someone pointed out that the prosecution should have pounded home the fact that the new boyfriend (of two weeks) WOULD NOT ALLOW CAYLEE TO SPEND THE NIGHT.

I'm not sure it would have helped with a jury this clueless but, in hindsight, I agree they should have. Like my mother used to say "Some people need to have a picture drawn for them."

“”Geraldo because he is a LAWYER and he knows this stuff””

I heard him this a.m. I wasn’t surprised but I was disgusted AGAIN!

Gerald is Tom Cruise in “A Few Good Men” - “So this is what a courtroom looks like.”

Not one person challenges him on his nonexistent legal background.

Sorry to get it wrong! I have had trouble reading the last hundred posts and should not have barged in without knowing the whole conversation.

Correct- regular old manslaughter without aggravation was also a choice. This jury couldn’t find one fact in the prosecution’s case- I don’t understand it- but that’s what happened. Apparently they were completely persuaded by the defense’s theory.

That’s the thing that gets me the most, that not one juror was willing to hang the jury. Considering what’s coming out about some if the jurors’ backrounds, however, I’m not surprised. Good gad.

Wow, thank you for the heads up. Should I do a live thread on that? First of all I guess I should check to see that I pick up that station (I do get HLN.)

If I don't, can someone else do a thread? I would really love to hear his comments, although I am sure he will be circumspect and a real diplomat.

In 1901, President McKinley was shot on September 6 and died on September 14, 1901.

McKinley’s assassin was tried, convicted and executed in just a little over 6 weeks from September 14.

Today it takes 3 years just to bring an obviously guilty mother to trial for the murder of her daughter. If the mother had been found guilty and sentenced to death, it would have taken another 20 to 30 years to carry out the sentence if in fact it was ever carried out.

What happened over the last 110 years to make our justice system so dysfunctional? Who did this to us?
