Charles Krauthammer: C’mon, Herman Cain’s candidacy is for entertainment purposes only

Via the Right Scoop, I’m not nearly as sure as Kraut is that this is true. If Palin surprises everyone by staying out, Iowa will be wide open for a “true conservative” to emerge. And if Cain finishes well there, he’ll be well positioned to surprise people in his backyard of South Carolina. Doesn’t mean he’ll be the nominee, but it’s very easy to imagine him being a factor in the nomination given his grassroots support. If Palin does jump in, I don’t know how the base goes about trying to decide between them. Palin has held public office and Cain hasn’t, but Cain doesn’t have the sort of image problem out of the box that she has to overcome. How does the vote split between the two of them and Bachmann in Iowa? Somewhere Romney and Pawlenty consultants are reading that question and thinking: “Hopefully very evenly.”

I guess Kraut figures that since he’ll soon be alienating the base by criticizing Palin after she announces, he might as well go the whole nine yards and tweak Cain too. Speaking of which, the Herminator is now officially in. His formal announcement will come tomorrow.

Kraut thought/thinks Obama was qualified.

Why anybody still listens to him baffles me.

I’ll support either Cain/Palin OR Palin/Cain.

Charles’s opinion doesn’t matter much on this issue. I believe he used to work for Jimmah Carter; yes or no?

Krauthammer shows his Establishment Ruling Class Elitism side, once again.

That’s the inside the beltway crowd for you. Cain is too conservative and principled for the elitist inside the beltway.

Charles Krauthammer, MD (pronounced /ˈkraʊt.hæmər/; born March 13, 1950) is an American Pulitzer Prize–winning syndicated columnist, political commentator, and physician. His weekly column appears in The Washington Post and is syndicated to more than 200 newspapers and media outlets. --snip-- In 1978, Krauthammer quit medical practice to direct planning in psychiatric research for the Jimmy Carter administration, and began contributing to The New Republic magazine. During the presidential campaign of 1980, Krauthammer served as a speech writer to Vice President Walter Mondale.... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Charles_Krauthammer

“...planning in psychiatric research for the Jimmy Carter administration...”

If that doesn’t say it all, I don’t know what does.

Kraut hates everyone from Palin to Cain but gets a tingle up his leg for Newt and obama.

Krauthammer is a neocon in the original definitonal sense. I find his commentary to be informed, eloquent, and often illuminating. I can see why he would write off Cain, he’s never held office, isn’t well funded, and is very conservative. Personally, I’ll give it some more time. Of all the declared candidates, Cain is certainly my favorite, and I would love to see a successful conservative businessman in the WH.

If I wasn’t already for Cain just the fact that Krauthammer isn’t would be rnough to make me go for Cain.

Kraut thought/thinks Obama was qualified.

Yeah, he enthusiastically jumped on Hussein's "hope and change" bandwagon. He's also convinced the Arab uprisings in Egypt and Libya are" freedom and democracy" movements.

Indescribably naive, that Kraut.

Krauthammer is not overly impressed by the Constitution. Every once in a while he gets something right but he doesn’t qualify to be a conservative icon. He is a lot closer to Bloomberg than to the average Freeper.

Kraut is an Elitist like Rove and a few others. Anyone that didn't go to the college they went to and is not of the Beltway is an idiot to them. Herman will be one on one with Hannity on Monday. I'm looking forward to it.

From the little I've heard herman Cain speak, he sounds like a player and has a chance. Please can somone give me pros and cons about Cain? So far, and it DOES NOT mean I'll vote for him, he sounds articulate, simplifies tough issues and in a real sense besides his beliefs/ideologies, experience in( ??? I do not know thus the asking),SOUND ike he's nearly a 160 degree turn from Oburka. The entertainment valur akinr would be fun ab=nd it would be fun to watch a man whose ancestors grew from the horrors of slavery whereas the house ****ah( call each other that and Jackie Chan can but not the rest of us)will ssssssslam Obama and put him in his place

Too early for loking at candidates but I fear real class warfare ins pres__ent's goal therefore we independants/Libertarians and Republicans really need to shoose our man or woman carefully because four more years with this CinC u=is akin to shooting oneself in the foot x6 reloading and working on six in the second foot. If cain is good and speaks from not just experience but with true wisdom, has leadership well, then I am all for him, but again, please Freepers, send me some of the betters links.

I will read all of them and thanks in advance:^}~!!
