Poll: George Allen leads Tim Kaine by double digits

A new poll shows former Sen. George Allen (R-Va.) ahead of Democratic National Committee Chairman Tim Kaine by double-digits in Virginia's 2012 Senate race.

Allen leads Kaine 45 percent to 32 percent with another 23 percent of voters undecided, according to numbers released Thursday from Roanoke University.

Kaine officially jumped into the race for the seat of retiring Sen. Jim Webb (D-Va.) earlier this week, setting up what could be one of 2012's marquee Senate match-ups. Allen still faces a Republican primary challenge from Tea Party activist Jamie Radtke.

The survey, which was taken before Kaine made his candidacy official, shows Allen with a lead among self-identified independents and Kaine leading among self-identified moderates.

The double digit lead for Allen in the Roanoke poll, though, is a stark difference from the result of a recent survey from Democratic-leaning Public Policy Polling, which found Allen and Kaine in a dead heat. Roanoke's sample does skew more Republican.

The poll surveyed 437 registered voters and has a margin of error of plus-or-minus 4.7 percent.

Great to hear, especially since Kaine is already well-known.

The fact that Kaine is "well-known" is exactly why the results are like this.

So, when do they bring out Macaca?

They already are. I'd just like for "our" side to stop bringing it up.

There is a Tea Party guy in there.

If you're so smart to "know" George Allen is an "Establishment RINO" then you'd likely be smart enough to "know" the "Tea Party guy" is a woman.

Not necessarily. I do not know the Tea Party candidate because I have not been following that race. I just vaguely recall seeing some headline about a Tea Party challenge to George Allen and I never bothered to open that link. So don't assume too much. As for Allen, he is a RINO.

Whether I knew about the TP candidate or not is not the question. I know enough about Macaca Allen to know that he is a RINO who believes in opposing abortion only if it can be proved that there are no brainwaves. The other point about him is the racist comment he made (macaca). Let Democrat Party be the racist party (which they are). We should show zero tolerance for racist comments, especially by politicians. BTW, why are you a supporter of those who are okay with killing babies in wombs unless it can be proved that there are brainwaves emitting from the baby?

If you knew so much you’d also know that Allen’s rating with National Right to Life is 100%. His rating with NARAL is 0. And if you knew so much you’d know that Allen championed a major pro-life victory when he was Governor with the signing of the parental notification law.

But we’ve already estblished that you speak from ignorance.

And if you believe the WashingtonPost/LarrySabato/DailyKos drivel that says Allen is a racist, then you’re simply on the wrong site.

What is established is this: you sincerely believe that if X does not know about A, X is ignorant about about B and this argument forms the foundation of a logical system! No wonder, with people like you who are unable to think logically but purely based on emotions and hero worship, RINOs have a free run. George Allen believes that a person is not involved during abortions in the first trimester. For simpletons like you who can be easily fooled, there are organizations that grant points and convince you that he is anti-abortions. RINOs rule the roost because you people like you who are not only ignorant but also incapable of logical analysis as cleared established above.

Thanks for again insisting that you speak from ignorance of George Allen’s support for abortion. Also, you lack logical abilities. Your intellectual inferiority is noted.
