The Pro/Anti Gov’t groups are moving closer to each other. Watching AJ live.
I think Mubarak just flipped Obama the bird.
“Transition to whom?”
The million dollar question! (We can only assume, but they need to come right out and say it).
WikiLeaks: tension in the Middle East and Asia has ‘direct potential’ to lead to nuclear war
Just released and while not current- should be viewed in the context of what is happening now.
BBC may have same feed- not sure

streaming coverage...
Looks like an Arab OK Corral
” should be viewed in the context of what is happening now. “
Thanks, Mom, for the reminder -
It’s so easy to get wrapped-up in the minute-to-minute play-by-play, but we need to keep our eye on the Bigger Picture, too....
Interesting read. Can't post any excerpts since it is Bloomberg.
1446: The BBC’s Jim Muir in Cairo says: “I’ve just come back from Tahrir square and the atmosphere has changed completely from what it was like over the past few days. Near the national museum, there is a sort of front line that has been established between the protesters and supporters of President Mubarak. A lot of rocks are being thrown. I saw people breaking up the pavements so they could have sharp bits of stone to throw. In the last few minutes, there have been some shots ringing out, though it is not clear where they are coming from. The army is not trying to intervene. Its troops are not trained in how to deal with riots, and I do not know how the situation will be defused.”
1444: The BBC’sKim Ghattas tweets: US official tells me “really worried” about clashes in Cairo but Washington still in contact with #Egypt army
” Washington still in contact with #Egypt army “
Hmmmmmm......
Pro-Gov’t rioters are right up against the barriers made by the military vehicles. Moving in... Curfew starts in a few moments, let’s see if that helps.
Until this moment- there has been ONE bright spot in this crisis- NO intervention from the UN. That’s changing- the UN head is now giving a press conf.
God help us.
AJ Live: Muslim Brotherhood says they will refuse to allow Mubarak to finish his term.
Not much barrier anymore, one side is running the other side off.
Completely agree, I’m just reporting what is being said. Probably should use quotes.
Yes, I checked some pictures and there were flags like that scattered among other kinds. Here is a link just posted at FR regarding the Muslim Brotherhood. FReepers were much more interested in commenting on the post about Anderson Cooper’s bad day, which was just above it, but the Muslim Brotherhood issue is far more critical.

We don’t know squat. We know there appear to be two groups having street fights. There are lots of tweets stating there are pro-Mubarak people (many of them paid) coming in to start trouble. The Army apparently has made statements on loudspeakers asking people to go home ..
John Bolton on FOX, saying that it is the Military that has decided to support Mubarak and not allow an immediate transition.
