I have come to the conclusion that Dems are so intellectually stunted that anything other than the talking points fed to them by the Ruling elite of their party is not comprehensible.

An identifying feature of a Leftist is that they WILL NOT allow for honest disagreement. Any disagreement with a Leftist position MUST be due to "ignorance" (i.e. the person has not been sufficiently indoctrinated), "stupidity"( the person rejects the logic of the indoctrination materials) or "evil" (the person is able to argue against the Left's position).
It is a fundamental aspect of Leftist argumentation that you NEVER acknowledge that an opponent's arguments have any basis in sound logic. It's straight out of Saul Alinsky's "Rules for Radicals.
The reason is that their arguments have real difficulty in standing up to honest debate, so they have little choice in resorting to ad-hominem at the onset.
