Clyburn: Palin intellectually unable 'to understand what's going on here'

A House Democratic leader on Wednesday lashed out at Sarah Palin, accusing the former Alaska governor of being intellectually incapable of understanding why she's faced criticism related to the shooting of Rep. Gabrielle Giffords (D-Ariz.).

Assistant Democratic Leader James Clyburn (S.C.) said that Palin had missed the point by releasing a statement Wednesday morning blasting the media for "blood libel" for looking to assign blame in part to her rhetoric after the attempted assassination of Giffords last weekend.

"You know, Sarah Palin just can't seem to get it, on any front. I think she's an attractive person, she is articulate," Clyburn said on the Bill Press radio show. "But I think intellectually, she seems not to be able to understand what's going on here."

Palin broke her relative silence since the shooting, which some Democrats have attributed to an environment that allowed such an attack on a member of Congress. Democrats have homed in on the map Palin's political action committee had released, depicting targeted lawmakers in the election with crosshairs over their districts.

"Acts of monstrous criminality stand on their own," Palin wrote. "They begin and end with the criminals who commit them, not collectively with all the citizens of a state, not with those who listen to talk radio, not with maps of swing districts used by both sides of the aisle, not with law-abiding citizens who respectfully exercise their First Amendment rights at campaign rallies, not with those who proudly voted in the last election."

Clyburn said that Palin didn't grasp why such rhetoric was so troubling, regardless of the motivations of the alleged shooter. The No. 3 House Democrat referenced the civil rights era, and said that some of the shrill rhetoric in modern politics is reminiscent of that time.

"I have some experiences that maybe she does not have," he said. "When I see and hear things today that are reminiscent of that period of time, I am very, very concerned about it, because I know what it led to back then, and I know what it can lead to again."

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again. Clyburn is a Clymer.

Ok, I’m officially supporting Sarah Palin now because I realize how much the left hates her. Do they know she CAN indeed win? Why would they focus so much effort on destroying her if she wasn’t a threat?

I hope she runs. I hope she wins so I can enjoy all the screeching from the left.

I have never in my life seen them go so nuts over a private citizen. It’s surreal.

Your speechless, I'm dumbfounded!! But I can see and smell their little scheme now...SAY IT ENOUGH TIMES 24/7, though it's a lie, AND THE SHEEPLE WILL BELIEVE IT! This tact has been used before over and over again against W and it worked like a charm. SO they are up to their little evil stinking from hell trick....BLAME, blame and continue to blame UNTIL IT STICKS! I'm just wondering if it WILL stick this time around too?! Surely Jesus is mounting His horse just about now! Come quickly Lord Jesus, because I'm afraid there is NO stopping these EVIL liberal demons from destroying America, our freedoms and innocent folk who are blameless of this heinous crime.

How about we stage an IQ test and Sarah spots him 20 IQ points?

Clyburn: Palin intellectually unable 'to understand what's going on here'

Funny how the biggest liberal pinheads try to put on an attitude and feign intellectual superiority. These guys are always quick to claim that anyone who opposes or questions them are "intellectually inferior".

I would bet Clyburn, like his buddy 0bama, was an average student at best, and probably has an IQ less than 100.

I think her comment about blood libel shows Palin understands exactly what’s going on.

A potsmoking Obama voter went on a murder rampage and Obama’s supporters want to blame her and any other right-wing public figure they can think of for what he did.

This from a man the Democratic caucus just invented a new position for so he wouldn’t throw a sissy fit.

"Good God, this man is a moron."

I beg to differ. He is an idiot or an imbecile. (IQ <20 vs. IQ 20-49)

In the spirit of his remarks, I propose we start a new thread: Clyburn’s so dumb that . . .

Funny, the "shrill rhetoric" that this a$$clown refers to reminds me of the 1770s. Guess we should have toned down guys like Jefferson, Franklin, Adams and those other rabble rousers in Philadelphia.

What a maroon!

Any honest response that I could make to this nonsense, would most certainly be deemed as racist.

“The best response from Palin should be to ask if the other Democrat leaders are in agreement with him, so are also in need of mental health care?”

Every time I’ve ever watched Clyburn in an interview, he’s creeped me out. Those crazy, hellfire eyes psychotically staring back at the camera, while the rest of his body is eerily still...

Reminds me of somebody else in the news with mental health issues...

Isn’t this the guy who holds a made up position because the ‘Rats lost the majority and his old gig went away? I suspect that Clyburn is intelectually incapable of diferntiating between his azz and a hole in the ground. Clyburn makes Vince Young look like a genius.
