Supposedly went west and landed in the ocean. I wonder if there are any siesmic readings from around the time it might have hit the water and >possibly< exploded.

There’s an easy way to find out if the Military was involved.

Go back to the air traffic tapes from yesterday and see if ATC moved the aircraft around the Zone. That’s normal operating proceedure.

They don’t want to put an intercontinental missile near a commerical aircraft filled with pax.

If the air traffic is normal then we have a problem.

Just had a discussion with some co-workers here and we are all getting a little anxious about this. The general feeling here is that if the US did not do this, there are very few nations who can and we are potentially at the brink of war.

I kinda blew this off this morning because I figured it was just a Navy exercise, but the fact that no one appears to know where it came from has changed all that.

It was from out in the ocean? Very interesting, that would be difficult to explain.

It could be an amateur rocket launch. Not the Estes variety, the big 10 ft. variety of a serious hobbyist.

That is not the exhaust plume from any hobby rocket.

If you look at the video at the beginning the plume starts at water level and rises vertically for several hundred feet before pitch over.

That is a sub launched ballistic missile and it looks as if its' trajectory was taking it toward Kwajalein Atoll where we target our western test launches.

If it was not a US sub then there was a MASSIVE breakdown in our sensor and warning systems to allow an enemy/unknown sub to get only 35 miles to our shore.

Lets see,,, isn’t there some bunch that has used a lot of missiles in the last few years? And doesn’t this group hate us? And wasn’t a bomb plot just uncovered?

Im sure the Obama government would tell us if it was a Hamas missile launched from a ship at LA, that went astray.

And just as an aside,, upwind from LA, im assuming we are sniffing for radioactive materials? A dirty bomb just scatters crap,, it has a very minor explosion, if one at all.

Because we don’t have terrorists launching missiles right off our coasts. That doesn’t happen. Ever. I mean it.

I, too, don’t remember that happening. Officially.

Aliens leaving Cal before their taxes are raised.

You don't need a missle to go back to Mexico.

Those Mexican drug cartels are really stepping up their game. Obviously, this was a missle purchased at a US gun show.

Ever try to ignite kerosene with a ‘spark?’

Even if it did ignite, there wouldn’t be an explosion, because cold kerosene doesn’t vaporize sufficiently in a tank. It requires a wick or a glo wand to burn.

Good point. I just do not know what either thing would look like if you actually saw it in the air. I don’t know what I am looking at.

they know what this was, they just are not saying.

I would agree if they refused to answer the inquiries, but they flat out said they don't know what it was.

Nobody likes to look like a dumbass on purpose.

At your link Ellsworth speculates it was an ICBM sent as a warning to asia.

Makes sense to me.

“On viewing the footage, former deputy defense secretary Robert Ellsworth speculated on KCBS that the launch could be a show of military muscle. “It could be a test-firing of an intercontinental ballistic missile from a submarine ... to demonstrate, mainly to Asia, that we can do that,” Ellsworth said.” And China has not ......

It has definitely been determined to be a Rwandan ICBM launched from a Rwandan submarine.

I can’t shake the feeling that we were punked by the CHICOMs to kickoff the G8 summit with a bang.
