Rand Paul Supporter Who Stepped On Activist's Head Wants Apology ...
SeeBS ^ | 10/27/10 | Lucy Madison

Tim Profitt, the former Rand Paul volunteer who stepped on the head of a MoveOn.org-affiliated activist outside of a debate on Monday, said he thinks the woman, Lauren Valle, owes him an apology.

"I don't think it's that big of a deal," Profitt said of the incident in an interview with CBS affiliate WKYT. "I would like for her to apologize to me to be honest with you."

Profitt, a Rand Paul supporter who used to serve as a campaign coordinator for the Kentucky Senate hopeful's campaign, was caught on video on Monday stepping on Valle's head after she had been wrestled to the ground. Valle had been trying to offer a satiric award to the candidate.

Profitt later said he was sorry "that it came to that," but he argued to WKYT that Valle was not an innocent bystander. [...]

“The guy with the foot didn’t hurt her, and didn’t step on her head either for that matter. But you can see how they use what happened to their advantage.”

Are you defending what he did do?

It was wrong.

Where was all the outrage when the young man was beaten by SEIU thugs in St. Louis? This female had a mission to accomplish and she succeeded. I’m sure she will receive a substantial reward from MoveOn. And, of course, we don’t even want to talk about the Black Panthers and their weapons.

Fox has been showing the clip allot.

What I can’t discern from the clip is what is up with the blonde wig that someone seems to be trying to put on her head.

Was she wearing it? If so Why?

I have also heard she provoked the crowd.

How? If so.

No, you are right, absolutely it was wrong. I don't want to even seem to defend him, because it was over the top. If she was disrupting the meeting, they ought to have escorted her to the door. Really, any meeting like that ought to have security, and security ought to have escorted her to the door.

No harm no foul.

It looked like they were roughing her up; its wrong since she didn't look like a physical threat to anyone.

My point was something else; she was there to provoke a response and she almost certainly had people there with her to film what happened. This is going to happen more and more.

We've complained about their thuggery and they are going to turn it on us; provoking a response and then filming it. We have to be careful, be aware of what they are doing, and don't fall for it. This guy was a jerk and he stepped right into it. We have to be better than that, for moral reasons but also because they are going to be trying to make it happen just so they can discredit us.

A shoulder push is a far cry from a head stomp.

No blood no foul....

The incident was reviewed by experts.

I agree all the way, and would like to add an overlooked part of the incident. This woman was not standing in the front row, but at least 2 or 3 rows back. She pushed people out of the way to get close to Paul. So at that point, who knew what she had in her hands or what she was going to do with it. The security detail had only a very few seconds to move on her advancement, not a few minutes.
It is not like she was just standing nicely in the front row with her sign.
For you folks who did not mention her aggressiveness but foolishly fell for the “his foot on her head” crap and even “stomped on her head” inaccurate statements....If you were more careful in your observance and then your comments, you would not be furnishing ammo to the very people who will do anything to defeat Conservatives.

That’s what pisses me off so bad about this - he did NOT stomp on her head! You can plainly see that in the video! Of course, for those with an agenda, facts mean nothing.

She was wearing the blonde wig and it was pulled from her head in the scuffle. Why she was in disguise is anyone's guess.

The first story I read about this the 'reporter' made the claim that the man "stomped on her head repeatedly in an attempt to break her neck".

Apparently that was reported before the video had been released as the video clearly shows she was 'stomped on' only once, it was not on her head but her shoulders/neck and there is no way anyone, including the reporter could have known the intentions of the man who did the stomping.

I have a feeling this was a staged event perpetrated as an attack on Rand Paul and the Tea Party.

I was surprised to learn the "stomper" was a Paul supporter. It looked staged to me, in that the "stomper" was in on the gig with the "stompee".

Rand Paul Protester Previously Arrested For Vandalizing [ Paid by MoveOn.org ]

"..The New York Daily News reports Valle, a 23-year old Columbia religion graduate, was hired by MoveOn.org for three weeks to work on the “Republicorp” project in Kentucky; it can only be assumed her role was to follow Paul around and attempt to embarrass him..."

She was a paid agitator and the wig was a disguise.

Even though he only pushed on her shoulder with his foot, it was still a punk assed thing to do to a woman who is down and restrained.
He is showing himself to be even more of a wuss by asking for an apology

Concur.

You are correct on that.

Oh, please everyone. Did I have to explicitly say “should not do that?” The vast, vast majority of cops do not do things like that. I work for lawyers all day who parse words. Instead, share your feelings.

"To say he stepped on her head is a lie. He used his foot on her shoulder to help restrain her."

C'mon, you know that's NOT true. Well, he didn't step on her head, he stepped on her shoulder. I saw the video - I saw him step hard on her, then walk away. No "restraining" involved. IF he were restraining her, he would have kept his foot on her shoulder to hold her down. He DID NOT do that. HE owes HER an apology. And, I don't agree with what she did, either.

That really is what is amazing. There is video, there is no contact with her head, much less stomping, and yet they keep saying it.

"To say he stepped on her head is a lie. He used his foot on her shoulder to help restrain her."

Doesn't matter, it was stupid regardless of exactly where he put his foot.

Using One's foot to restrain someone on the ground is ineffective at best. If, he was afraid she was some sort of a deranged attacker then he should have been down on the ground restraining her with his hands which is multitudes more effective.

We will never know exactly "why" he did what he did but the fact remains it looks bad and is "political ad fodder" for the opposition.
