NRSC Chairman Cornyn’s Statement On Delaware Senate Race
NRSC.org ^ | Wednesday, September 15, 2010 @ 11:09 AM | U.S. Senator John Cornyn

Posted on 09/15/2010 8:39:18 AM PDT by justlittleoleme

“Let there be no mistake: The National Republican Senatorial Committee – and I personally as the committee’s chairman – strongly stand by all of our Republican nominees, including Christine O’Donnell in Delaware.

“I reached out to Christine this morning, and as I have conveyed to all of our nominees, I offered her my personal congratulations and let her know that she has our support. This support includes a check for $42,000 – the maximum allowable donation that we have provided to all of our nominees – which the NRSC will send to her campaign today.

“Mailed them a teabag this AM writing my $$$ goes to Miller and O’Donnell!”

Excellent idea. I got a phone call soliciting money from them yesterday, and I told them to take me off their list. My $’s go directly to the candidates I want to fund.

I agree.

I’d like to see DeMint and a few other Conservative leaders join to develop a Republican Leadership in exile.

It would broaden the voice of Conservatism, and contrast the marked differences Conservatives have with the RNC RINO leadership.

This is somewhat of a gimmick, but it would attract attention and help us move the RNC to the right by undermining it’s support from the rank and file. At some point the RNC leadership has to take action to eliminate the rift.

The leadership in exile makes demands, and the RNC capitulates.

I joined the local “moderate” Republican women’s club. Coryn is not sitting pretty among the ladies. He has offered no conservative reform, has not done anything to protect Americans from Washington’s ever expanding domestic war on terror, and he sat on his fat butt like Nero as Rome’s constitution and economy burned.

Ha, I wonder if Cornyn and the “elites” read the RNC Facebook page last night. What a ripping they were getting, it was great and well deserved.

I think that Yadron has worked for the McClatchy newspaper chain, and you don’t get hired there unless you are Left. It may well be that he is now a WSJournal stringer. Hard to tell these days given the way journalists are being laid off. I think you are right; he will likely be under a great deal of pressure at the WSJ to verify his source, at least in-house.

Bottom line.....The Registered Republicians in the State of Deleware made a decision by using their VOTES.

The National GOP aparatus better fall in line.....I understand some of those people are starting to fret because the Tea Parties are doing a fine job of eliminating many of the RINO’s and there will be a change in the leadership.

But the bottom line - GOP National offices better tow the line, and pull hard

Too late, Cornyn, your little staff flunkies and Castle himself did the damage last night with their bitter comments.

Not because of anything Steele did....

Perhaps, but we're in a situation where he is either helping us or staying out of our way. By removing him now, we would give the RINOs and Dems a talking point: "Look, those Tea Party types are so extreme they get rid of moderates even when the party is doing well."

We need independents to see the truth that we are slightly to the right of them and care about their concerns while the Dems are way too the left of them and could give a crap about their concerns. Anything that feeds the torches and pitchforks narrative is counter-productive, and if Steele needs to go we can take care of it during the off year.

Keep in mind that this is coming from a guy who called for Steele's head at the time he made his Afghan comments. But at this point I say leave him in place and hit the Dems with a 2 X 4.

Cornyn's not laughing now...

I then asked If O'Donnell wins, are you going to pull your money out of there? "I think we'll have to have a little powwow," said Cornyn, laughing, as he walked away.

Has Sarah issued a FB statement yet?

My wife told me to donate $50. I just did a few minutes ago.

Thanks sitetest. Anything that helps Christine helps us here in DE, but it also helps you, because she will vote against Cap and Trade in the Lame Duck session, as she will be seated on Nov. 3rd.

As of this writing, Christine is past $ 350,000. The new goal is $ 500,000.

Phenomenal! She is raising funds even faster than Sharron Angle did after her Nevada primary win.

Oh, and you have a wonderful wife!!;)

Thanks,b-e. She is now past $ 350,000.00, and well on her way to the new goal of $ 500,000!

All thanks to folks like you, helping us out in DE!

It helps us, and it helps you as she will vote against Cap and Trade in the Lame Duck session—she would be seated on Nov. 3rd, as this is a special election to finish out the last 4 years of Biden’s term.

I”ll never forget when Bush rammed through the “Corn and Beans Trade Agreement” with Mexico. Every time they would say it on the radio, I would hear “Cornyn-Beans” so he is now Senator Cornyn-Beans from the Great State of Texas, to me.

Cornyn-Beans and Kay Bailey. A sad state of affairs and one that needs to be corrected. I think Cornyn-Beans got hisself re-elected in 2008, but I believe Kay Bailout is coming due next time around. We’re gonna need a challenger for that one. She got her tail handed to her running against Slick Rickie Goodhair for governor, and he ain’t even all that popular.

Agreed! There are some Republicans that are showing their true colors. It’s not about conservatism and what’s best for the country, it’s about hanging onto their power in the party and keeping their little RINO country club setup all to themselves. They better get out of the way because the tsunami is coming.

Hannity needs to get his nose out of Rove’s fat posterior. He has built this guy into something he is not: a conservative. Whether he’s a political genius or not, I won’t get into. We all have our own opinions on that.

That, and a few 100 tweets like mine letting him know he looses my support and my vote in Texas if he refuses to support the voter’s chosen nominee

Agreed. Let’s accept this graciously and at face value. There is no need to rip each others eyes out.

But if the NRSC begins to waiver...
