Christine O'Donnell upsets Mike Castle in Delaware Senate primary (Massive Hangover Barf Alert)
The Biased Washington Post ^ | 15 Sep 10 | Chris Cizzilla

Marketing consultant Christine O'Donnell upset Rep. Mike Castle in the Delaware Republican Senate primary tonight, handing the tea party movement a major victory and giving Democrats an unexpected chance to hold the First State seat.

O'Donnell, who is making her third run for the Senate in as many elections, relied heavily on national surrogates -- from the Tea Party Express to former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin -- to fuel a shoestring campaign against the iconic Castle who had held elected office in the state for more than four decades.

"The people of Delaware have spoken," said O'Donnell in her victory speech. "No more politics as usual."

___________________________________________________________________

"I'm sad to say the Delaware primary results tonight are straight out of Harry Reid's dream journal," said prominent Republican strategist Mike Murphy of the O'Donnell win.

The Delaware result is also a major blow to Republicans' hopes of winning back the Senate majority this fall. To do so, the GOP needs a net gain of 10 seats, which, with Delaware now likely to favor Democrats, means that Republicans need to close to a clean sweep in states like California, Wisconsin and Washington.

PPP showed Urquhart up 12, Christine up 3. That’s 9 Urquhart sunday morning. In 3 days Christine won by 6, Urquart by 2?
Christine 4. The momentum was stronger for Christine over the last 3 days by 13 points.

Ok, I’m going out on a limb.

He values power over freedom?

The RINO is forgotten
It is destiny

There's a victory song in that somewhere waiting to be written......

Ok Freepers: What does that say about Rove?

Rove is showing his true colors. Too bad he fooled so many, even so many around this "conservative" site, for so long.

“the iconic Castle.” The next male journalist to use the word icon, or any of its permutations, should be castrated.

How many times has the media declared a race over for a Democrat candidate on the day after the primary?

This is propaganda. It is deceitful information designed to cause a result through skillful repetition. It is deliberately crafted lies.

Of course Christine can win, especially in this environment. The problem is that Republicans would rather lose than have someone they have to fear as being outside their goober, Rino, throw the ballgame, imperialist establishment.

The good thing is that we are learning who the current round of moles are. Last time it was Noonan and Parker. This time it is Rove and Krauthammer. These people absolutely smell.

You're right on this. And though mostly it doesn't matter at this point it might actually help depress dem votes and ignite the conservative new base.

Do you?

The Republican establishment has been thinking for a long time they could use the Tea Party to their advantage and steer them. The anger is because they are now beginning to read their own “tea leaves”.

"...I guess they were going for the "Stupid Giddy Valley Girl" look."

Actually she is cute as hell and most people will find the picture endearing.

You’ve been to all the professors
They’ve all liked your looks
With great lawyers you have discussed
Lepers and crooks
You’ve been through of all of
F. Scott Fitzgerald’s books
You’re very well read, it’s well known

But something is happening here
And you don’t know what it is
Do you, Mr. Rove?

Well, they’ll choose a man for you to meet tonight
You’ll play the fool and learn how to walk through doors
How to enter into the gates of paradise
No, how to carry a burden too heavy to be yours
Yeah, from the stage they’ll be tryin’ to get water outa rocks
A whore will pass the hat, collect a hundred grand and say thanks
They like to take all this money from sin, build big universities to study in
Sing “Amazing Grace” all the way to the Swiss banks

Well, there ain’t no goin’ back
When your foot of pride come down
Ain’t no goin’ back

They got some beautiful people out there, man
They can be a terror to your mind and show you how to hold your tongue
They got mystery written all over their forehead
They kill babies in the crib and say only the good die young
They don’t believe in mercy
Judgement on them is something that you’ll never see
They can exalt you up or bring you down main route
Turn you into anything that they want you to be

Well, there ain’t no goin’ back
When your foot of pride come down
Ain’t no goin’ back

Yes, I guess I loved him too
I can still see him in my mind climbin’ that hill
Did he make it to the top, well he probably did and dropped
Struck down by the strength of the will
Ain’t nothin’ left here partner, just the dust of a plague
that has left this whole town afraid
From now on, this’ll be where you’re from
Let the dead bury the dead. Your time will come
Let hot iron blow as he raised the shade

Well, there ain’t no goin’ back
When your foot of pride come down
Ain’t no goin’ back

i beg to differ
Castle was against Obamacare and i believe was cosponsor to have it repealed
granted when it comes to cap and trade i am sure he would be voting with the Dems but more importantly he would caucus with the Rs and may have been the seat that gave us the majority which would have given us committee chairmanships and a say as to what legislation is brought up etc etc etc
maybe she can win but so far it doesnt look that way
time will tell i guess but this seat went to a near sure thing for a GOP pickup to a probably Dem hold

O’Donnell started a fundraising drive when she won last night. It was only for $50,000. But according to her web site, she’s only 56% of the way there (maybe she’s underreporting).

Anyway, Freepers, O’Donnell Supporters, Tea Party Activists:

Take a moment to step away from your gloat-posting and celebrating, and DONATE ALREADY. This is sad — we should have pushed her past $50,000 an hour after she started. $50,000 — that’s only 1000 freepers giving $50 each.

I’ve already donated — so get off your butts and donate.
