FRONT GATE NOTES
Tonights 268th consecutive Friday night report is from Trooprally.
Being almost a perfect evening, just a bit humid, there were a lot of soldiers in 'n out of Walter Reed. One soldier, double leg amputee, came out on a sedgway for a trip to the local McDonalds. Since he unexpectedly zipped by us on his way out, we had ample heads up on his way back and we were able to talk a bit.
Sidewalk construction (Stimulus Funds at Work) made RongKirby's southwest corner inhospitable for FReepers and banner. But since he had car troubles and couldn't make it, no great inconvenience.
I had one driver tell me "we have your back devil dog". Not having time to explain that Id never been in the service and wear the Marine cap proudly for family members in the Marines, a quick "Semper Fi" reply was the easiest response. I also received a quick salute from another passing vehicle with a Marine license plate.
Since the buses came early and it looked like more rain, we took the MOAB (Mother Of All Banners) and flags down before the moonbats left.
Other Notes Worth Noting
A nice night with some light rain off and on, but mostly off. A lot of car honks and shows of support for the troops.
The Stimulus project resulted in a Jiffy John being placed next to the moonbats. The moonbats used it to get out of the rain.

Thanks to you for what you are doing. If I weren’t far away (in TX), I would be with you physically, not just in spirit.
You guys are amazing! I know our heroes are glad that you show up every week and that it means a lot to them.
I’m always with you in spirit—and hope to join you again one of these days.
Planning to join you folks on the W/R corner in July.
...thanks for the post...
Great post. Great pics. Great FReepers supporting America’s finest. BTTT!
Ditto that, PGalt, ditto that!
Thanks DC Freepers for being there!
Thanks for the AAR. Moonbats are looking sorry now-a-days. I can imagine their reaction when VictoryNY joins us. One soldier said that they could hear her inside the hospital.
[Mr] T
I really do need to catch up on the Olney AARs.
Just reading your report...twice LOL
I hate it when that happens!
I think the “PINKOS” truly deserve their “stinking” addition to their site!
Maybe DC PING 2 was really DC PING 3!
Maybe, maybe not.
No one knows, ‘cept me.

Obama Orders Dance Classes, Movie Nights, and Bingo for Illegal Detainees
CONTACT YOUR US REPS: This must not be allowed to go forward. Why is the US government providing detention centers for illegal invaders who violated our borders that are newer, modern, with better health care, including just about everything else that is better than what battle-scarred US servicemen are getting in Veterans hospitals?
FOR YOUR REFERENCE ICE to make detention centers more humane
Houston Chronicle | June 8, 2010 | By SUSAN CARROLL
Immigration and Customs Enforcement officials are preparing to roll out a series of changes at several privately owned immigration detention centers, including relaxing some security measures for low-risk detainees and offering art classes, bingo and continental breakfast on the weekends.
The changes were welcomed by immigrant advocates who have been waiting for the Obama administration to deliver on a promise made in August to overhaul the nation's immigration detention system.
The 28 changes identified in the e-mail range from the superficial to the substantive. In addition to softening the look of the facility with hanging plants and offering fresh carrot sticks, ICE will allow for the free movement of low-risk detainees, expand visiting hours and provide unmonitored phone lines.
ICE officials said the changes are part of broader efforts to make the immigration detention system less penal and more humane. But the plans are prompting protests by ICE's union leaders, who say they will jeopardize the safety of agents, guards and detainees and increase the bottom line for taxpayers.
Tre Rebstock, president for Local 3332, the ICE union in Houston, likened the changes to creating an all-inclusive resort for immigration detainees. Other major changes include:
Eliminating lockdowns and lights-out for low-risk detainees.
Allowing visitors to stay as long as they like in a 12-hour period.
Allowing low-risk detainees to wear their own clothing or other non-penal attire.
Providing e-mail access and Internet-based free phone service.
Not about punishment "It's not about punishing people for a crime they committed. Rosenberg said some of the changes, like new flower baskets, may seem small, but they will combine with the bigger changes to make a difference in the daily lives of detainees. Taken together they will go some way to making this system less penal, she said. (Excerpt) Read more at chron.com

Yes, see you soon, can’t wait! Lots to do to get ready though!
My BP just went through the roof. I don’t know how much more I can take of this evil administration.
