I was thinking back to when another Democratic president, Jimmy Carter, found himself stymied in another seemingly endless ordeal. Iranian militants stormed the U.S. Embassy in Tehran in 1979 and held 52 officials and workers hostage for 444 days, while the United States was helpless to free them.
Many of us recall the event by the name that became attached to it: "America Held Hostage." That was the title ABC News slapped on its half-hour news update that aired each night, with Ted Koppel as anchor. The show later became the long-running program "Nightline."
This is when you know you are truly harpooned, when your problem has become someone else's meal ticket.
As sinister as the jet stream of escaping oil and gas looks via the underwater camera in the gulf, Barack Obama has not yet moved into the category of the late-night patsy that Jimmy Carter became. The Iranians were more clever, or diabolical, in exploiting their hostages than the restrained BP executives or their enviro foes are in this situation. ad_icon

He sang and laughed and carried on because Paul McCartney was fawning all over him (and Michelle!), he didn’t ever, ever make as big a fuss over any other First Lady (or President, Dem. or Repub.) before!

I would be thrilled if Obummer spent every waking moment snorting coke, guzzling booze, snarfing wygu beef, truffles and beluga caviar and singing and partying with celebrities. I’d love it if he never sobered up enough to ever get to any of his presidential duties. Financially, I’d vote him at least a million a day party budget and throw in construction of a free bathhouse on the premises for his Chicago buddies. These expenditures would represent a major bargain and save the country untold billions and heartache to keep him in perpetual party mode. We would be A LOT better off in every way versus what’s actually been happening.

Obama-ding-dong preaches Government for everything. It gives him and his thugs more power, more adulation, and more vengeance against those they hate.
But, Government is very limited. There isn't a "Ministry of Oil Rig Explosion Fixers" out there - although many in the public think there is. Obama has made the situation much worse by his inaction, and by not allowing BP to burn off oil or use the type of chemical dispersant needed because of his slavish devotion and his party's to the environmentalist wack jobs.
Now we are supposed to believe that Obama and his minions, who can't control a single oil spill, are capable, responsible, and intellectually prepared enough to take over our nation's Heath Care?
Europe and Canada are exploring ABANDONING their grand Government Health Care Giveaway, and yet we are adopting it.
If the GOP gets even House in these elections, they need to shut down then entire United States government budget process until ObamaCare is killed - PERIOD!

Imagine cutting it into a number of five or ten second clips and intespersing them with pictures of the oil spill, dying, oiled pelicans, combat in Afganistan, and illegal aliens crossing the border. Also throw in some pics of really, obscenely opulent and ostentatious WH dinners, like the one for Calderone. Then put the whole thing together in a really great, accurate negative ad about the Illegal.
