A Transportation Security Administration agent has been arrested for allegedly stealing $400 dollars from a wheelchair bound passenger as she passed through a security checkpoint at Newark Airport.
Leroy Ray allegedly went into the disabled woman's bag as it passed through the X-ray machine.
Ray was caught on surveillance video on February 3, 2010, reaching into the woman's bag to steal an envelope of cash, according to a criminal complaint.
The fiftyish year old woman, investigators said, was from North Jersey and was flying out of Newark to visit relatives overseas.

TSA should be completely eliminated and security turned back over to the airlines. They are nothing more than thugs, harrassers, and federal sponges for employment.
They were a Democrat invention in the wake of 911 because Democrats knew they would create more dependent Democrat voters.

Sounds like someone knew he had sticky fingers and he was set up; it must be so hard to fire a TSA govt employee, so they had to catch him in the act.
I bet they’ve had ‘complaints’ from people about missing wallets etc and he was the common link.

And he is free on only $1,000 bail. No doubt he’ll be back at his job in the morning.
Nothing new here. TSA baggage inspectors have been arrested all around the US. TSA thugs got first “dibs” on jewelry, cash, and prescription medicines in unsuspecting travelers’ checked baggage. It just another Democratic Party endorsed criminal enterprise.
And who gets confiscated forbidden items like cosmetics, tiny Swiss Army pocket knives, etc? Hard to believe they are all pitched in the trash.
He is also Amish.
I went through this same checkpoint on Monday during a business trip to Newark. The TSA agents I saw there were indeed rather sullen and thuggish looking. Not surprised.
Actually that's part of the job description.
When I go out of the country I have $400 or more with me. Not sure what is unusual about that.
I wonder if they steal candy from babies?
They are our defense line... try them and if guilty... firing squad... ZERO TOLERANCE.

Obviously, the problem here is that the TSA employees are underpaid. I suggest a significant increase in the funding of the TSA, and a big raise for the TSA employee in this case.
I do too, but not in an envelope thrown into my purse! And when you are in a wheelchair, you really can’t watch what they are doing with your ‘stuff’.
I don’t take my eyes off of my purse and carry on RX’s for a second.
Good thing TSA is doing their job. sarc.
Maybe this story is a good warning that if you are travelling with a wheelchair bound traveller, work as a team. Protect your friends from the TSA.
