Sarah Palin: Let’s shake it up in California! (Sarah endorses Carly Fiorina - Huh?)
Facebook ^ | Sarah Palin

Posted on 05/06/2010 12:29:51 PM PDT by FightforFreedomCA

I’d like to tell you about a Commonsense Conservative running for office in California this year. She grew up in a modest home with a school teacher dad, worked her way through several colleges, and then entered an arena where few women had tread. Through a combination of hard work, perseverance, and common sense, she proved the naysayers wrong to reach the top of her field, where she led with distinction – facing hard truths, making tough decisions, and showing real leadership through a rocky transition period. Where others had failed, her company had weathered the storm and settled on a stronger new foundation.

Her name is Carly Fiorina, and I’m proud to endorse her for U.S. Senate.

Carly is the Commonsense Conservative that California needs and our country could sure use in these trying times. Most importantly, she’s running for the right reasons. She has an understanding that is sorely lacking in D.C. She’s not a career politician. She’s a businesswoman who has run a major corporation. She knows how to really incentivize job creation. Her fiscal conservatism is rooted in real life experience. She knows that when government grows, the private sector shrinks under the burden of debt and deficits. We can trust Carly to do the right thing for America’s economy and to make the principled decisions she has throughout her professional career.

Please consider that Carly is the conservative who has the potential to beat California’s liberal senator, Barbara Boxer, in November. I’m a huge proponent of contested primaries, so I’m glad to see the contest in California’s GOP, but I support Carly as she fights through a tough primary against a liberal member of the GOP who seems to bear almost no difference to Boxer, one of the most leftwing members of the Senate. Carly needs our support in this crucial election year when we have a real chance of putting an end to the Pelosi/Reid “Big Government” agenda.

I hope you’ll join me in supporting Carly. Visit her website here, and follow her on Facebook and Twitter. Read up on her positions and plans to help get us on the right track.

California is still Reagan Country, and Carly promises her “Reagan Conservative” values will be put to good use for her state and for our great nation. Shaking it up in California is long overdue. Let’s help Carly do it!

So Carly has been endorsed by the National Right to Life, the California Pro-Life Council, and the Susan B. Anthony List yet some still say she is Pro Choice. Those groups wouldn’t support someone if they thought they were just “Faking” being pro choice

Hope people will wake up here instead of insulting Sarah Palin and Florina. Seems like a bunch of them love baxter...

hmmmm.....Palin said right in her post that she believes Carly to be the only Republican candidate who can beat Boxer, and Boxer MUST GO. DeVore is a great guy but he’s polling 13% of the vote. It’s down to Carly and Campbell. Carly has also been endorsed by the RTL, NRA (100% rating) and the SBA List.

I’d like to add a few things about my Carly endorsement because some reaction right out of the chute calls for more information:

Carly has been endorsed by the National Right to Life, the California Pro-Life Council, and the Susan B. Anthony List. She is pro-life, pro-traditional marriage, pro-military, and pro-strict border security and against amnesty. She is against Obamacare and will vote to repeal it and prevent the government takeover of private companies and industries. Carly is also a strong supporter of the Second Amendment. Like me, she is a member of the NRA, has a 100% NRA rating, and she and her husband are gun owners. She is pro-energy development and believes as I do in an all-of-the-above approach to energy independence. She is against cap and tax. And most importantly, Carly is the only conservative in the race who can beat Barbara Boxer. That’s no RINO. That’s a winner.

Let’s see if you can figure out which of these candidates is more likely to win. I’ll try to make it real simple for you. If it’s too hard, you just send off another dim-witted reply certain to offend.

Seeking the office of Governor of California

Dem: Over $10 million dollar war chest
Rep: A little over $2 million dollar war chest

Dem: Flies across the state in a private jet.
Rep: Leases a charter bus for the duration of the campaign.

Dem: Former Presidents, Vice Presidents, Current President, Current Vice-President, current and former Senators, Congressmen, Federal officials, a myriad of state and local officials, a bevy of top named entertainment industry actors and financial gurus show up for five to seven day long swings through the state.
Rep: No former or current presidents or vice-presidents, senators, congressmen, or federal office holders. Perhaps if he’s lucky one minor named Congressman from his own state shows up for one swing through the state. One or two radio or television personalities show up.

Dem: Countless top notch production level spots are aired for months on end on television and radio throughout the state. A number of television programs bring on the candidate “because the public needs and wants to see him”.
Rep: A few spots are aired a week or two out from the election. There are no televised appearances, because the public “doesn’t want to see this guy and they don’t need to.”

Dem: Unions, ACORN, Teachers, Schools, up their game on propaganda and efforts to get the candidate elected.
Rep: Individuals on their own money try to help the candidate any way they can.

Do you have any idea who wins this election?

Do you know how much the spread is?

I mean if your logic is sound, none of this makes any difference whatsoever. If Californians are simply leftist, then none of this would make any difference.

That has seemed to be your learned judgment on this matter.

The fact is, Pete Simon lost an election just like this to Gray Davis. These were the dynamics.

Simon wasn’t what I would call Mr. Charisma. None the less, he did have a pretty good values set. And he did garner a significant portion of the vote, with a severe handicap.

You think it’s, “Californians are leftists” in a nutshell.

The reality is it’s, “Conservative candidates are cast adrift in California”, in a nutshell.

If you have ten million iPads for sale, and only ten people hear about it, and only two of them get a full explanation about what one is, you’re not going to sell them.

It’s no different in politics.

I agree. Whoever is giving her councel seems to be way off base - Unless she knows something we do not know.

I also did not like her backing McCain. I hate to say it - but I wonder if she is trying for political suicide with the conservatives.

It sure would be nice if people would stop trying to tell Sarah what to do. Just because she endorses a candidate that people on here don’t approve of, doesn’t mean she’s unraveling. She’s smarter than most of us, so, I’ll leave her judgment to her.

I agree that at some point if it is not going to happen for Devore, then people have to choose between who is the better RINO. But I don't think that time has come yet, and I am very unhappy that the party tries to create these self-fulfilling prophesies by declaring that the conservative can't win, giving all its support to some "moderate" elitist Washington insider, and then trying to force all of us to go along, because those Dems just have to be defeated. That splits the conservatives, as the go along types such as exhibited on this thread, follow blindly what the party tells them.

It's a stacked game. How do you think we got McCain? Stacked early primaries. Scozzafava. Specter in PA. The list goes on and on.

If there were more so-called conservatives who insisted on voting for conservatives in primaries instead of following the party line, we might have a better chance to get someone like Devore to get the name recognition that he needs.

Conservatives did it in Florida with Rubio, who knocked off a sitting governor in spite of the entire party structure being against him. He was lucky enough to have the resources to stay in the game. Devore doesn't--because too many alleged conservatives have bought the notion that we must support the RINO.

California has been electing socialists for decades.

And now Palin has endorsed another one of them. THAT's how it happens.

Proof that conservatives should NEVER again vote for a RINO.

I don't like Fiorina’s hair style, she looks like Peter Pan. Palin, on the other hand, looked resplendent at that Time 100 event.

Wow, Carly Fiorina is a mess. I can just see her joining up with all the other women in the Senate. They are all big government no matter what party they claim.

More FAIL from Fiorina (and, by association, Palin):

"There has been a very unfortunate racist tone that has emerged in a lot of the discussion about immigration and that's inexcusable. We must be a country that welcomes legal immigrants to this country. We must be a country that recognizes that we have industries like agriculture that have depended on temporary migrant labor for generations."

She's basically called out conservatives/Tea Partiers as "racist" who are against "legal immigration".

By in large, Fiorina defended the Arizona law and called for tougher border security, but wouldn’t take a position on what to do with the millions of immigrants who are already here illegally.

How about fiorina’s statement, “diversity is our strength?”

She SAYS secure the border first, then adds that we need a
“guestworker program that works.”

Sounds just like McCain, doesn’t it? That seems to be the RINO mantra this year...”secure the border first.”

On the issue of jobs, she is an epic fail! She is the outsourcing queen.
