An Army doc who refuses to go to Afghanistan until President Obama produces a birth certificate will face court-martial.
Lt. Col. Terry Lakin, a decorated military man who has become a part of the fringe "birther" movement - which believes President Obama was not born in the United States - could face a dishonorable discharge for failing to obey orders, MSNBC reported on Tuesday.
The 18-year veteran came out in support of the largely discredited conspiracy theorists at the end of March, proclaiming he would "disobey" his "illegal" orders to deploy.
"I believe all servicemen and women, and the American people, deserve the truth about President Obama's constitutional eligibility to the office of the presidency and the commander in chief," he said in a video statement posted on YouTube on March 30.
The Bronze Star Medal recipient refuses to go to Afghanistan for a second tour until Obama releases his birth certificate showing he was, in fact, born in the U.S.
"Seeking out public office, especially the highest in our land, means you must uphold the Constitution, Mr. President, and confirm your eligibility," Lakin said in the video.
The Army doctor was informed of his court-martial by his brigade commander, and his Pentagon building pass and laptop have been seized, MSNBC reported.

Soldiers need to stay out of politics, its a long tradition started by GEN Washington. Its not their role in society, and its one of the things you sign up for when you raise your hand. That applies to the anti-war wackos of the Vietnam era, the the Blue Hat crowd, and to this guy.
Court Martial him. I would certainly vote to convict if I were on his panel.
As for the issue, politicians and civilians are free to push this issue and I’m glad to see that some are. Mostly civilians, I’m sad to say, the spineless politicians won’t stand up and be counted. This is a symptom of a larger issue of Obama lying about his past and concealing who he really is. No one who does that is elibible to serve as the President of the United States. Let’s see the documents, and lets see the politicians and elected officials step up to the plate in 2012 and refuse to let him on the ballot without proof that he is Constitutionally eligible.
They have a new DB out here in Leavenworth and I’m sure that they will let LTC Lakin run the prison clinic when he gets here.

But even when and if the birth certificate is revealed and there are “irregularities,” the media would go to bat for him. If they did it for the perjurer and rapist Clinton, why wouldn’t they do it for their messiah?
Obama did not order him to deploy, and all the wild claims that 'the buck stops with Obama' will not change that fact. The order to deploy came from somewhere in the administrative bureacracy of the Pentagon, far below the office of the President, and unless LCOL Lakin can prove that any of those people in his chain-of-command hold their rank illegally then he doesn't have a leg to stand on.
It's been that time for 18 months or more, and Obama doesn't appear to be listening. This isn't going to cause him to do it.
I tend to doubt it. Those who will care already care. Those who don't won't be swayed by LCOL Lakin's professional suicide.

Absolutely unbelievable that anyone would criticize someone like Lt. Col Lakin who has the intestinal fortitude to demand that the constitution be obeyed.
While the supposed “leaders” of the Republican opposition sit silent our great nation is being subverted and turned into a Marxist/socialist police state.

Obama prove he is eligible to serve as President. That does not even speak to the lack of any real information about Obama who has his entire past locked up tighter than Fort Knox.

So at what point, do you suggest he follow his oath to Defend The Constitution? I believe there were numerous German officers after World War II who faced charges, because someone decided "it was not their personal call".
This is the key thing and it will not be allowed. The court-martial will be held and he will be convicted. The press will be excluded. The JAG officers involved will be subverted to allow this travesty. All to avoid showing His birth certificate. The ends justify the means to this bunch.
