Rather than sit idly by until the November elections I have decided to seek out and profile strong conservative candidates from around the country.
I have started in Florida because that is my home state. I would encourage my readers to send me information on conservative candidates running for national office in their areas as well so that we can help get them elected. You can reach me at robehren@hotmail.com.
It is not possible for me to profile every conservative running but I will post as many as I can in the time we have left before the November mid-term elections.
The list so Far:
Marco Rubio - U.S. Senate, Florida;
Allen West - U.S. Congress, Florida's 22nd District
Allen West articulates traditional conservative values and has a distinguished military service record. West seems to understand the role of a limited government and the benefit of lessening the tax burden on individuals to spur economic growth. The following are excerpts from West's campaign website. Who is running against that evil pig Alan Grayson?
Personally I see him as a conservative who happens to be more darkly pigmented than I am myself; I'm much more interested in his thoughts, ideas, and character than in his skin pigmentation. Oddly enough, those very same things are at the root of my distaste for the current occupant of the White House, and also at the root of my objection to almost everything he does and says.
Pastor Stephen Broden in TX-30. You have have seen him on Glenn Beck. http://www.brodenforcongress.com/Donate.asp. Oh, and he’s black. The humanity!
We met him last year at the FreeRepublic Convention in DC. He is a stand up guy. Obama and friends don’t deserve to be in the same room as he is. He is the type of man who should have been the first black president, not the terrorist fool occupying the WH currently.
Glad he is running again. Hoping he will represent the people for several years. Senate after the house, maybe president someday.
Andy Harris (MD-1st)
Harris is a pro-life, pro-traditional marriage, anti illegal immigration, conservative Doctor and former member of the military who entered the Maryland State senate by defeating longtime Rino state Senate Minority Leader Vernon Boozer (Republican in name only)
Harris went on to defeat an even bigger Rino-incumbent congressmen Wayne Gilchrest. Gilcrest was one of the most liberal republicans in congress and conservatives had lined up behind State Sen. Andy Harris to defeat Gilchrest in the GOP primary.
Harris had the support of the National Right to Life, the Washington Times, former GOP gubernatorial candidate Ellen Sauerbrey, 18 members of the Maryland legislature, and even former Republican governor Bob Ehrlich. The conservatives seemed unified in the goal of tossing out the “RINO” Gilchrest but at the last moment another state senator named Pipkin entered the race dividing the anti-Gilchrest votes.
Harris went on to win the nomination anyway, (despite Michael Steele endorsing the Rino Gilcrest), but Gilchrest pulled a “Scozzafava” (NY-23) after the loss and endorsed the democrat Kratovil... who went on to win an extremely close race in Obama’s coattail year.
With the Obama excitement gone, Democrat congressman Kratovil is listed as one of the most vulnerable members of congress. A November Tarrance Group poll showed Harris with a 52-39 lead over Kratovil. Harris has pledged no earmarks, self imposed term limits, and a repeal of Obamacare.
Harris’ wife is active in the pro-life movement and participated, with her husband, at the Maryland March for Life. This couple is the real deal!
My favorite Allen West quote was said next to a st5ack of bumper stickers at a small fundraiser last year: “You are not putting my sticker on a Prius!”
A lot of people are running against Grayson. See this:

I heard him speak on a talk radio show last night... the Mike Harvey show, perhaps? Regardless, I thought he was impressive. What are his chances? I know nothing of his district.
I know the left may disagree but my distaste for Obama has nothing to do with race and everything to do with ideology. I find West to be an ideal candidate for the same reason; his ideology. I wish West was a candidate in my district.
Your comment, and others like you, show just how ludicrous the lefts assertion of the right being racist is. I think they have confused ideological differences for racism. The left have a monopoly on racism.
Unfortunately the left is not confused.
Confusion in most instances can be cleared up.
Not so with the left. Their “problem” is their hearts and therefore their methodology.
Prayer, rallying with others and education of the ignorant is grassroots for us. Next level, backing and electing constitutional conservatives at local levels then state and federal levels increasing the % enough to affect the stabilization of the USA again.
Finally after that is accomplished teach the next generations to NOT do what we did. That is——PUT OUR HEADS IN THE SAND REGARDING POLITICS.
Is anyone maintaining a West ping list?
I'd love to start one, but I'm not sure how. Never done it before.
