Constitution Butchers: Stop Pelosi's Slaughter House

In the Slaughter Solution, the rule would declare that the House “deems” the Senate version of Obamacare to have been passed by the House. House members would still have to vote on whether to accept the rule, but they would then be able to say they only voted for a rule, not for the bill itself.

Thus, Slaughter is preparing a rule that would consider the Senate bill “passed” once the House approves a corrections bill that would make changes. Democrats would thereby avoid a direct vote on the health care bill while allowing it to become law!

Constitutional attorney Mark R. Levin asks, “They’re going to present a rule, issued by her committee as chairman, that says that the House already adopted the Senate bill when we know it didn’t?”

U.S Constitution, Article I, Section VII, Clause II.

Every Bill which shall have passed the House of Representatives and the Senate, shall, before it become a Law, be presented to the President of the United States; If he approve he shall sign it, but if not he shall return it, with his Objections to that House in which it shall have originated, who shall enter the Objections at large on their Journal, and proceed to reconsider it. If after such Reconsideration two thirds of that House shall agree to pass the Bill, it shall be sent, together with the Objections, to the other House, by which it shall likewise be reconsidered, and if approved by two thirds of that House, it shall become a Law. But in all such Cases the Votes of both Houses shall be determined by Yeas and Nays, and the Names of the Persons voting for and against the Bill shall be entered on the Journal of each House respectively…

According to Levin, James Madison himself gave special care and attention to this clause in the Constitution.

Levin: And do you want to know why? Because this clause goes to the heart of this Republic.

This clause goes to the heart of how our representative body, that is Congress, makes laws. And so I want you to [observe] how particular the Framers were… They have to pass a Bill to present it to the President…

This is one of the most exacting clauses in the Constitution.

And, to the best of my knowledge, which extends over three decades, no Congress has previously tried to institute policies without actual statutes.

Here we have the President of the United States and Congressional leaders actually talking about the possibility of a brazen and open violation of one of the most fundamental aspects of our Constitution and Republic! How we actually make laws!

Let me be as clear as I know how. If this is done, this will create the greatest Constitutional crisis since the Civil War. It would be 100 times worse than Watergate.

…It would be government by fiat… meaning there would be no law… the mere discussion by officials in this government is such a grotesque violation of the actual legislative function of Congress [that it] puts us… at the brink. At the brink.

This is why we conservatives revere the Constitution. This is why we stress the Constitution’s words have meaning and historical context and must be complied with. Because otherwise we have anarchy, which leads to tyranny.

This is a crucial lesson for those of you who… aren’t sure what your beliefs are, or if you have any beliefs. Or aren’t sure if you even care. We have an effort underway by the one of the most powerful chairmen in Congress, the woman who heads the Rules Committee, …openly discussing gutting Congress. Gutting Congress.

I’m hearing a lot on the news about people opening up their mail and finding increases in their health insurance bills. Has there been any research done or any indications that the White House has made any kind of deal with the health insurance companies to raise the rates at this time in order to use the rate raises as propaganda for passing the Unhealthy Bill? It would make perfect sense, if the bill is passed and everyone is forced to have insurance who would benefit from the increased amount of customers? Why the health insurance companies, duh!!! It makes perfect sense that a behind closed doors meeting between O and the insurance companies would come up with this kind of “Chicago politics” style solution to getting his bill passed.

We are truly at the brink, folks. If Congress does this, all bets are off. The Constitution will have been not just subverted by smooth deceit or by trickery, it will have been blatantly, and overtly abrogated in the full light of day.

Should they do this, it will be the opening shot of the Second American Revolution.

The Constitution doesn’t say the rule, it says “the bill”. This would be deemed as unconstitutional as they come without a constitutional amendment saying they can vote only on the rule.

This is truly getting worse and worse. There is no longer a Democratic Party in this country, there is the American Fascist Party, formerly known as the Democratic Party.

After all, if the House can "deem" one bill passed, why not simply enact a rule that deems all bills passed by the Senate as, pro tanto, passed by the House? Gets rid of the need to make all those pesky House votes - more time to spend out on the town with your leftist/liberal union overlords and swilling expensive booze at taxpayer expense - and certainly streamlines the whole legislation thingy.

In fact, why not have both houses enact a procedural rule pursuant to which any bill that the president signs be "deemed" to have been passed by a majority of the House and a majority of the Senate, respectively?

The fact of the matter is, if those two scenarios seem ludicrously unconstitutional, then so is the Slaughter Rule. The fact that the fascists, I mean democrats, would even spend more than a moment's time considering such a patently unconstitutional measure should indicate to all but the willfully blind that they have chosen to follow in the footsteps of Hugo Chavez, not our Founders.

Much of the talk following Obama’s announcement has focused on how to defeat this second bill through reconciliation, but that is misleading because the first step to defeating Obamacare is not by concentrating on defeating the “fixer” bill but by defeating the Senate bill in the House when it goes to the floor for an up-or-down vote on Thursday, March 18th.

Then you will either talk to an aid or have the chance to leave a message for him/her to vote NO on the health care bill.

When you use the second number and the Capitol operator comes on, just ask for your Rep or Senator’s office. Every time I use this number I get the Rep or Senator’s answer machine, so it may be set up that way all the time...to go to their answer machine. Either way you can leave a message to vote NO on the health care bill!

Some say that we need a third party. I don’t agree, we have other parties that we can support so what kind of party do those so eager want? I submit to you that it isn’t the two main political parties that have fallen by the wayside that are the problem, but it is the controlling inhabitants therein that are the problem. In 1789 an article was (I think) in the letters to an American farmer which basically read-“Woe to us if we should let lawyers into the halls of government, as they will become so numerous, like weeds in a garden, in which no-one will be able to sort out the good from the bad.” Paraphrasing.

My plea.

There stands the Banner, under who’s waving thousands have gone before to defend.

It is to OUR shame that we have allowed her glory to be stained with political immorality, greed, corruption and lust for power over those who would fight for her preservation.

It is we who shall hold her high for God, Individual and Liberty. Our charge is to be Duty, Honor and Country.
Duty, to defend her with our divinely instituted CONSTITUTIONAL RIGHTS.

With Honor, to those who have died and suffered defending life, liberty and pursuit of happiness. To go before him who holds us to our destiny to defend our country against ALL forms of tyranny. Who should enjoy liberty if we would have no allegiance to our Creator and Country?
