Anwar al-Awlaki, the radical imam with whom the Fort Hood shooter had been in contact, had been Imam of Dar Al-Hijrah to prior to 911 and in July 2005 Shaker Elsayed, the former secretary-general of the MAS was appointed as the Dar Al Hijrah imam. The former imam left to become the executive director of the Fiqh Council of North America, affiliated with ISNA.

It maybe a misprint, but considering JP's post... my gutt feeling is, no. What I am reading into this is...there are many uncharted-like hamlets within the "states" of India. Best I can figure is that it is the "state" that is important to locale (per SIL) & determining where that hamlet-like place is.

I will add this, FWIW, my SIL has been telling me for over a year that they are much more clandestine in their (the missionaries) correspondenses. I know her info to me is more cryptic than it ever has been. She's not a cryptic person.

I am looking on the RSOE EDIS website. Is there a way to pull up that info you posted... "expired" alerts?

About Bedell/Pentagon....seems he was bipolar...I never knew much about that til an associate shared about her son and a life long struggle she and her husband had with their child. Ended last year when they got a phone call from him he was surrounded by police...she heard the shot which took him down. The mother felt God had taken him out of his misery for he suffered much as he knew he couldn't control the urges and how whacked out he could get. What ever is done to help these people she and her husband had done for their son...to no avail.

She shared at ten years old the kid used a two by four across the side of his fathers head...the whole family was fearful of him. Sad when a family can't find the help and just never know what the next phone call will bring. He was just 23 years old....but left a trail of broken hearts, death and trouble for many behind him as he lived his life.

Not justifying Bedells actions one bit...but these folks who suffer from this disorder and their families do go thru more than difficult times...not unusual they commit suicide, end up in jail or get taken down as this guy did.

I think it's likely so as well...many alerts happening in India and warnings would also indicate this. We'll know in time. I am still too new to computers to search much further than google etc. I know some can follow Ip’s etc. but I'm yet to be familiar with the process.

Survive In Place

Top 10 Mistakes
Found in Most 72-Hour Kits

I’ve tested and reviewed dozens of 72 hour kits and go bags for myself, friends, families, and clients and it amazes me how most of them have the same basic problems.

Fortunately, most of them are easy and inexpensive to fix and I’m going to tell you how you can identify and fix 10 of them. Here are the first 5…

1. Medications. If you have medications that you have to take on a regular basis, you need to keep at least 3 days worth in your 72 hour kit. Many drugs break down in the extreme heat of a car, so ask your pharmacist how long they’ll stay safe in your car and how long they’ll stay effective.

As an example, if your pharmacist tells you that a certain drug will last for 3 years at room temperature, but only 2 months if you keep it in your car, then you should use the drugs that are in your car every month or two and replace them with fresh drugs.

The life expectancy of your drugs will, of course, be different depending on where you live and the season of the year.

2. Footwear/clothes. If you ever wear flip flops, heels, or dress shoes, then consider carrying a pair of quality shoes/boots in your car.

Stick in at least one pair of quality socks and underwear as well.

Remember the pictures and videos after 9/11 of people running barefoot, holding their $500 shoes? Imagine how your body would feel after doing that for a few miles.

3. Clothes for the wrong season. You should either carry clothes for both summer and winter, carry convertable clothes, or change the clothing contents of your kit every spring/fall. Shorts won’t help much in the winter and insulated cover-alls won’t help much in the summer.

4. Young children. If you have young children, they add a HUGE level of complexity to any survival situation. Can/will they eat your survival food? Do you have spare clothes/diapers/wipes for them? Do you have a way to manage their pain from teething/injuries?

Do you have a way to transport them? It might be worth learning how to use a regular bedsheet to create a wearable baby sling. If you have a stroller with inflatable tires, do you carry spare tires and/or a tire repair kit?

5. Pain. If you aren’t good at handling pain, learn proven techniques from someone you know who has done natural child-birthing, a midwife, birthing coach, or doula.

In addition, consider carrying ibuprofen, anbesol, or even prescription pain medications. If you are concerned about a hurt pet, consider getting livestock lidocaine. (It requires a vetrenarian’s prescription, but costs a fraction of human lidocaine.)

Survive In Place

This came to me from my bio-weapons expert who studied under Ken Alibek. It is a basic procedure for how to go into and out of your safe room in the event of a bio event.

I’ve considered the possibility that I may have to get OUT of that safe room to perhaps retrieve medicine, shut off utilities, or heaven-forbid, draw someone away from my family.

My method consists of the following. After building the safe room, sealing it, and getting everyone inside, I divide the remaing space into a larger living zone, and a smaller ‘warm’ zone. The warm zone should be easy to seal to facilitate access.

Everything outside the room is a ‘hot zone’. To be more specific, think of an airlock in a spaceship. You want to do a space walk and need to get out. The inside of the ship is the cold zone which leads to a sealed door which opens onto the warm zone.

Once inside, the cold door is re-sealed behind you and at that point you open the door to the outside . In this chamber, you have your Tyvek suit, HANGING UP, for reasons I’ll explain in a moment, your gas mask, a bottle of bleach solution in a spray bottle, roll of duct tape, box of latex (or nitrile) gloves, and an extra gallon of bleach and water to mix it.

Going out, all you have to do is put on the suit, gas mask, and latex gloves, duct tape your wrists and ankles, and place the duct tape roll on one wrist. The reason you do this is so that if you tear your suit while in the hot zone, you can instantly re-seal it.

Coming back in, this procedure must be followed exactly: Both latex gloves come off and you don’t touch anything except the bleach bottle. If you didn’t use latex gloves, you’ll contaminate your bottle. You take the spray bottle and start at the top of your suit on the hood. This works easier if two people go out, so that you can get hard to reach spots, but in a pinch it can be done alone. Working down, you saturate and make sure that no part of your suit is dry, remembering the bottoms or your feet. Once, done, you unzip the suit, let it fall to your ankles, step out, and hang it up with the back towards you, and without touching the back because this part is still ‘hot’. Now you can spray the back. You are almost done.

Retake the spray bottle and mist over the walls and floor and then, making sure the door to the hot zone is closed and sprayed, you open your inner door, enter, and then re-seal it. No door shoud ever be open without the one preceding it being shut and sealed.

This antechamber is also important in that you can use it to decon other occupants if they’ve been exposed, and also decon people who come in from the outside after you’re already in there. It must be insisted upon that those entering remove all clothing and be sprayed with bleach and then rinsed off. Modesty is trivial in this situation and a pair of scrubs will fit just about anyone. These need to be kept in the cold zone so people will just have to turn away while they dress. As for the bleach bath, it need not irritate the skin, because a 10 to 1 water to bleach ratio is extremely effective.

Note from David:

The same concept of “hot”, “warm”, and “cold” areas can be used for a chlorine gas incident or other non-weaponized chemical incidents, except you do not need to use bleach. Depending on the chemical agent, it may or may not make sense to do this. If you have specific chemical threats in your area, you will want to find out the concentrations that are lethal, what kind of mask you need to filter the chemical out, and what you need to have on hand in your “warm” area to neutralize it.

Top 10 Mistakes
Found in Most 72-Hour Kits

Here’s the second installment of the top 10 problems with 72 hour kits and how you can fix them:

6. Bad Equipment. Almost every 72 hour kit that I’ve bought or reviewed has had bad equipment in it. Some of the worst offenders have been multi-tools that don’t work, matches that are brittle and break, knives that are dull, bandaids/tape that doesn’t stick anymore, survival blankets that are worn through, and pumps (both water and liquid fuel camp stoves) that have dried out seals. The only way to know that bad equipment won’t bite you in the butt is to test out all of your equipment every 6-12 months.

7. Can you use your equipment? If your firestarter is a glass or fresnel lens, can you make it work? Will it work in the late afternoon/evening? On a cloudy/smokey day? What would you do at night? What happens when you eat your survival rations? Can you stomach them? Do they keep you full? (If not, throw in some fiber capsules) Do you know how to start a fire with your flint and steel? Does everyone fit in the emergency shelter that you have? Can you carry your 72 hour kit/go bag if you have to leave your car on foot?

In short, you bought a 72 hour kit/go bag to keep you alive in a worst case scenario. Does it does it do any good to carry around a bag full of stuff that doesn’t work and that you don’t know how to use? Don’t trust anything. Take the time to test out the equipment that you expect to save your life. If it doesn’t work, find a replacement that does work. Testing your equipment will mean that you’ll have to replace some and it means that you’ll have to repack it, but until you know everything works and that you can use it, it doesn’t do much good to carry it around in your car.

8. Water. Do you have 1 gallon per person per day and 1/2 gallon per animal per day? (2 people and 2 dogs would require 9 gallons for 72 hours. At 8.35 pounds per gallon, that’s almost 80 pounds of water taking up 2000 cubic inches!!) If not, do you have a way to collect and purify more? Do you have an empty 1 liter bottle, collapsable bucket, or water bladder? Do you have one for both dirty and clean water? Do you know if your body can handle water that’s been purified with iodine?

9. Pets. Do you have 72 hours of food for your pets? Are you going to feed them your emergency food? Will they eat it and can they digest it? Can you eat their food if you need to?

10. Bags that are all jumbled together. Most 72 hour kits have everything thrown in the main compartment. Everytime you need something, you have to sort through all of the contents. Consider taking some ziplock freezerbags or packing cubes like Eagle Creek to separate the different catagories of supplies. Make sure to mark everything VERY plainly. I like doing this by writing on a strip of duct tape or athletic tape. One method you can use to separate everything is the following system:

Fire
Shelter
Water
Food
Medical (prescriptions, pain, stomach, etc.)
Trauma (bandages, splints, tweezers, scisors, wound irrigation, etc.)
Security
Tools
Pets
Clothes

Here’s the trick to getting this all done. Print yesterday’s page and this page and underline or highlight everything that you need to do. Then, pick the easiest item, do it RIGHT NOW and then cross it off when you’re done! (Crossing off to-do items is great for the mind.) If you can fix more than one issue in a day, that’s great…keep going. If not, make a decision to fix one or more problems each day until they’re all taken care of.

After going through this process, two things are going to happen:

1. Your 72 hour kit(s) will be much better stocked.

2. You will have more confidence and peace of mind since you KNOW that your 72 hour kit will support you and your family in an emergency rather than just guessing and hoping that everything will work out.

URGENT

Heads up, guys! I heard this earlier, but couldn't stop to post what I thought was an extremely important breaking story. I expected to come on to FR and find the whole site plastered wih it, but zip. I was amazed. Then I realized that this story is being shoved under the rug as we post. So here is the gist of it.

THIS story is important. no one is covering this. 911 hijackers carried student visas and never attended classes. A school in California was raided and closed because of this a few years ago, doing the same thing this school was doing.

Student Visa Fraud Ring Found at Miami School, U.S. Says
Friday, March 05, 2010

MIAMI — Authorities say a Florida language school helped illegally obtain student visas for foreign nationals who never went to class.

The U.S. Attorney Jeffrey Sloman said Thursday in Miami that none of the 81 students detained has been linked to terrorism.

The school's owner, 58-year-old Lydia Menocal, and 75-year-old employee Ofelia Macia allegedly made $2.4 million over the past three years from foreign nationals applying for U.S. student visas.

Authorities say the women should have reported the absences under laws that took effect after the Sept. 11 terror attacks.

Menocal and Macia were charged with conspiring to commit an offense against the U.S.

Continued*************************
2 Miami women charged with vast student visa fraud
The feds say more than 200 foreigners were able to stay in the U.S. using visas illegally acquired through a small language school. (This is misleading. This "school" has been in business for 30 years!

The Florida Language Institute occupies two small rooms in a corner of the second floor of a strip mall near a corner of West Miami-Dade.

But federal officials say the intensive English-as-a-second-language courses that the school offered to foreign students were not the only service for sale.

On Thursday, the school's owner and director and the office manager faced charges of running a vast student-visa fraud scheme, and the Department of Homeland Security has essentially shut down the school, prohibiting it from accepting any more foreign students.

Officials said at least 80 students from multiple countries were also taken into custody and may be deported as a result of the two-year probe.

According to federal officials, the women, Lydia Menocal and Ofelia Macia, tricked immigration officials into granting more than 200 student visas to foreign nationals who were not really students.

Jeffrey H. Sloman, the U.S. attorney for the Southern District of Florida, and Anthony V. Mangione, special agent in charge at the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement Office of Investigations, Miami Field Office, described the scheme at a news conference as the largest single visa-fraud takedown since ICE was created in 2003.

The scam was simple: Foreign nationals fraudulently enrolled as students at Florida Language Institute, 947 SW 87th Ave., and received the papers to remain in the country as students, according to a grand jury indictment in the case.

Federal agents believe the students never showed up for any classes -- and that the women knew it. It's unclear how much the students paid for their fraudulent visas. Established 30 years ago, the institute charged $1,250 for five courses.

*****************************
School Is Linked To Visa Fraud

Excerpt:
In announcing the arrests, the United States attorney for the Southern District of Florida, Jeffrey Sloman, noted that several Sept. 11 hijackers “were foreign nationals who abused the student visa program to enter and stay in the United States illegally.”

According to the indictment, the language school first received approval from the Department of Homeland Security and then issued the requisite federal forms to the prospective students so they could apply for and receive student visas. Ms. Menocal swore on the forms that the students would attend classes.

****************************************
Me: THE DEPARTMENT OF HOMELAND SECURITY APPROVED THIS SCHOOL!

We have no idea how many "students" have passed through this scheme and are still out there. ICE has no idea how many are walking the streets of this country.
While the DHS is busy targetting Tea Parties and Conservative AMERICAN activists, it has been the left and the muslims committing ALL these acts of violence, but this just boggles my mind!
NO ONE IS COVERING THIS!!!

Homemade Bomb Explodes Inside Detroit School
Updated: Wednesday, 03 Mar 2010
RON SAVAGE

DETROIT - An explosive scene inside a Detroit school. A homemade bomb went off Wednesday morning, forcing hundreds of students to evacuate. One student is now in police custody.

There was chaos at Phoenix *Multi-Cultural* Academy in southwest Detroit where 586 children attend classes. At eight o'clock Wednesday morning, a bomb exploded in a hallway of the third floor of the three story school. No one was injured, but children were instantly frightened at the sudden and loud explosion that came with no warning.

The Detroit Police Division of Homeland Security examined the bomb and determined that despite its homemade nature, it was most definitly a bomb capable of killing.

ALACHUA COUNTY, Fla. (WOFL FOX 35) - A University of Florida student is in the hospital after being shot by campus police.

University police say they got a call from the student's neighbor complaining that the man was screaming inside his apartment. When police arrived the student wouldn't come out. When officers tried to confront him, they say he attacked them with a metal pipe and a knife. That’s when he was shot.

Report: Officers shot student swinging metal rod
Posted on Friday, 03.05.10

GAINESVILLE, Fla. -- A police report says officers shot at a University of Florida doctoral student as he swung a metal rod at one of them during a confrontation at a campus family housing building.

The arrest report filed Friday charges 35-year-old Kofi Adu-Brempong with one count of aggravated assault on an officer and one count of resisting an officer with violence. A judge had rejected the charges earlier this week, saying the accompanying report didn't provide probable cause for the arrest.

Adu-Brempong remains in serious condition at a hospital.

Police said he barricaded himself inside an apartment in the building on Tuesday night. Two shots were fired during the altercation, which police say occurred after they unsuccessfully tried to peacefully subdue the man.

Wouldn't you think the school would have records of their “students” all the way back to opening? Perhaps this is just the beginning...80 already and more to come as they develope the case? But of course by then we surely won't hear anything.

Mesta, I am beginning to believe that there is so much information and happenings muslim related, and fractured gov. agencies working on these that everything is overloaded...and they intend it be so on purpose. That way at least some get thru. They have nothing to loose, for if jailed or whatever it is all in the name of Islam. They have no fear.

Sadly tis not there today, THAT alone bothered me, lemme check around
Okay, that helps b/c I now know it wasn't just me that wasn't understanding how to pull it up. Thanks.

would you like to be added to my pinglist?
Yes.

Also you can tell me what incidents/country etc you’d like to be pinged on
Just ping me to all/whatever...ummm, what are my choices?? (I like your posts & links!)(well, all of y'alls posts & links here on TM) I will be honest, I hit here first and that alone is time consuming! ;) Some days I almost have a stroke when I see the number of posts...gulp... knowing I "have to" read them all. Seriously, it is like homework! If I have time I get to the news board & try to make a fast sweep. On the days I have more time, I comb through the site more. The ping lists I am on now that I check on most regularly are the border & CW lists.
I have a nephew in special forces in Iraq. My SIL does the missionary work, mainly in China, India and in the Latin Am. countries (Mexico, Central Am, & S. Am.) (Belize, Guatemala/however it's spelled, & others I can't remember.) She has friends all over. She has done work in Haiti & has friends there presently. I have a nephew living in Brazil. My husband has international responsibilities in his work with a petrochemical company. We have many friends globally through his business affiliations. So... I am interested in everywhere!! AND... I personally try to tie it all together with Bible prophecy. Does that help you? lol Oh yeah, I am the daughter of an AF pilot (deceased, but he raised me!), married to a VN Vet who was in special forces, and come from a line of military ppl dating back to the Am Revolution. SO, this country is everything to me! And anything military ... welp, it is in my blood!!

JP--- all of y'all on here are doing an excellent job! I mainly popped out of obscurity to ask that question about India AND to let you know people like me are out here!
I also follow closely the terrorist links. Anything about ObaMAO & his czar goons. All things concerning the undermining of our constitutional rights and liberties. I like your prep info, as it is a way of life for us.

Cryptic communications are necessary Momma.
That's what she says & what she says she is being told to do.

Are they permanently stationed there?
No. Well, she was in some of the Latin Am countries for many years. Now, she goes to other countries more for months at a time. She use to only go as a teacher. Now she does a lot of other services, like helps in clinics, etc. She has friends permanently stationed in various countries globally.
