How could Bummer possibly do something that sensible?
One new nuclear power plant per million in population would be my goal !
Coal is a better way to go! Oh yeah, he has to pump the unions and GE.

France has many nuclear plants and the HDTV’s are around 1,000 euros cheaper to buy.
I was almost going to buy one and have it trucked but then I figured I would have to deal with a French person.
(Don’t Worry Be Happy, is playing on the HDTV right now - lol)
Anything and everything Obama does is the opposit of the right thing to do.

Wow! I knew the French used a recycling technology for their fuel rods, but I had no idea it was so efficient. Why the hell don't we do that?
Obama got a lot of money from the nuclear power industry when he was in Illinois, and even if by some remote possibility Obama is serious about wanting more nuclear plants, he’s dreaming if he thinks the rest of the Democrat powers that be won’t skin him alive if he actually tries to get more nuclear plants.
I’m suspicious.
The future of Nuclear Energy is in Cold Fusion. I just hope that Obama doesn’t get the credit for it.

What’s the catch.
With this liar there is always a poison pill.
All talk and no walk. I will believe it when I see it... and not one second sooner.
I have yet to see a single day pass when Obama wasn’t trying to pull another con. The fool lies without guilt.
If it’s the right thing to do and if it’s good for America, you can count on another lie and another Obama failure.
Republican president, Nuclear.......bad
Democrate president, Nuclear........good!
He also mentioned more off shore drilling.
Perhaps someone can confirm or correct the following description I was once given of the way the nuclear power plant industry works today in our USA.
You first need a permit to build the plant. The approval process, in terms of both regulatory and political costs, is estimated at 250 to 500 million dollars.
Once the building permit is obtained, the erection of the physical plant may go forward at a cost of about three billion dollars or so.
When construction of the plant is completed, the owners must then apply for a completely separate operating license, which MAY or MAY NOT be granted at the whim of the governing regulatory agency. Supposedly, there is a nuclear plant built in California (early 80’s?) that was denied an operating license and has never generated a single watt of power. If true, this is simply mind-boggling and explains why no investor in his right mind would conceive of backing a nuclear power project in this country.
As an aside - whenever Barbra Streisand threatens to take refuge in France in response to the election of some one or another political leader who fails to meet her peculiar ideological standards, I wonder if she realizes that three-quarters of the electricity provided on the French national grid is generated by nuclear power?
How utterly stupid and ignorant these people are.
He plans to use these plants as payoffs to more of his special interests using tax dollars.
Will these be private or govr owned? If private I would agree. But. I bet dollars to donuts he plans to take them over or incorporate them into the federal govt.
I veiw it as a meaty bone; tossed over the fence for the watchdog to chew on, while the burglar slips in and steals the family jewels.
It talkes a good 10 to 12 years to get one Nuclear Plant underway. With so much Red Tape and law suits from environmental wacos, Obama will be long gone before he sees the light from any of his new plants.
Drill, baby..Drill.
