President Obama is reportedly going to flatline NASA's budget when he releases his annual spending plan Monday, effectively grounding the agency's Constellation program, which oversees human spaceflight.

Houston, we have a problem.

President Obama's renewed focus on creating jobs, which he plans to lay out in his State of the Union address Wednesday night, apparently doesn't include reaching for the moon.

Obama is reportedly going to flatline NASA's budget when he releases his annual spending plan on Monday, effectively grounding the agency's Constellation program, which oversees human spaceflight.

The program needs about $3 billion in additional funding annually for the next five years to keep the International Space Station supplied and to create a new generation of spacecraft, according to a commission the president appointed last year.

From the article:

The lack of funding is likely to hurt most in Florida, where three space shuttles would be retired, resulting in the loss of anywhere from 2,000 to 7,000 jobs, Silcox told FoxNews.com.

Yep. Shut NASA down and turn its budget into tax breaks for space exploration/travel or aerospace research and development

Lookin’ pretty sh***y for good’ ol’ Astronaut Bill Nelson down here in Florida. Yep, same Bill Nelson who brought Barry into Brevard County several times during the campaign and good ol’ “You Lie” himself pledged to restore and continue the space program. Now, looks like the Space Coast will become the Empty Space Coast. Good ol’ Bill’s lucky he ain’t up for reelection this year. But, his buddie “Light Loafers” Charlie is certainly going to feel even better about that man-crush hug he gave “You Lie”.
In all seriousness, I’ve never seen an administration work harder to destroy its congressional supporters!

Read the article, it's more than the moon, he's going to kill the entire Constellation program and rely on Russia for human access to space.

3 billion is NOTHING in his 3 trillion budgets. He would lay off Nasa government workers to generate 1/100th that in jobs elsewhere. And Nasa is in a Dem district for now.

"...I see no reason to go back to the moon."

Is it that you can't see past the end of your nose, or are you satisfied with the Chinese fulfilling the destiny of the human race instead of America? The moon is just the first stop (after Earth orbit).

Obama won't be satisfied until he destroys everything that glorifies America or makes us great. Don't join him.

Space Travel is one of the things that will help us keep the pioneer spirit alive. Without it, life will be so dreary.
