The Obama administration says the internal unrest in Iran and signs of unexpected delays in their nuclear program make the Iranian government especially vulnerable to swift and serious sanctions, the New York Times reported on Sunday.
An administration official said current circumstances "give us a window to impose the first sanctions that may make the Iranians think the nuclear program isn't worth the price tag."
Despite the political unrest, Iran's political and military leaders are remaining steadfast in their determination to develop nuclear weapons, advisers to U.S. President Barack Obama said. But the unrest coupled with the Iranian government's internal turmoil has caused a deceleration in production of nuclear fuel in recent months.

What an ass. A total ass.
The main method in toppling the brutal régime should be beyond obvious, to even the current White House. However, lacking the will or furthering a power-aggrandizing agenda is most paramount to the Obama crowd, Freedom from vicious despots plays no part.
So here we set. We cannot attack Iran because we would nager those countries getting oil from Iran. We cannot stop buying oil from Iran because we refuse to drill for our own oil.
We have all the oil we need right here but the same folks who are shoving an unwanted health care Bill down our throats refuse to allow us to drill for oil or build our own refineries.
And we call this a Government.

Your points are well taken, except that we don’t need any more refineries. More domestic oil and gas yes, but refineries no. This is because we already have enough refining capacity to supply our need for gasoline and other fuel. In fact we have an over supply in refining capacity, which you can see in the very low refinery (profit) margins that have existed for the past few years. Even during the most recent oil crisis in 2008, refinery margins remained low. (The high costs at that time were for the crude oil - mostly to foreign governments - and taxes to our own government.) Nobody is expecting fuel demand in this country to increase, so you would have to be a fool to build a new refinery.
You’d also have to be a fool (or a f***ing Democrat) not to look for oil in your own country and offshore. The USA is the only country in the world that keeps substantial amonts of oil and gas off limit. The only one.

Like They're really, REALLY SCARED!I do not know the condition on Refineries in our country.
I only know that during Katrina the Refinery in Louissianna was closed down and the price of fuel went up. I therefore assumed that refinery was pretty important to our system and we could possibly use another one.
Yes, it’s true that we had an important refining and/or transportation issue immediately after Katrina. But that was a regional issue due to an extream increase in local demand. The root problem, however, wasn’t one of too little refining capactity but rather very poor (or no) planning. In particular, there was no pre-positioning of gasoline supplies. (Who could have expected that a million cars on the road would need to refuel? /s)
